Went out last night and knocked 'em dead on jigs I made myself. Must have caught 100+ fish. Threw back or gave away everything under 11" and came home with 25 keepers, most around 13". Big fish of the day was 15".

That's a lot of fish. I used to fish with my uncle and we caught fish that looked like those ones. I only ever caught a few at a time though. Nice fishing! |

LOL. They do kind of look like taters from the side. I'll be sure and make some French fries when I fry up the fillets. Fish and chips, yum! Just got to know where to go when, and what to put in front of the fish. In my experience, while luck might play a small part fishing success is mostly a matter of learning all you can about the species you want to catch, adapting that knowledge to changing weather conditions and putting in the time getting to know your favorite body of water. Being closer to this body of water was one of the major reasons I picked the area I did when I moved. Got tired of driving the 100+ mile round trip. Now I'm down to a 40 mile round trip.

Nice! I remember that picture you posted of the cool jigs you made-- I'm glad they're effective. |
