I wanna say quite a few Texas locations are test locations. They're constantly trying out new stuff to see what they think guests will and will not like.

I actually have something actually confirmed on this. When my friend Richard (Rapid T. Rabbit) and I visited the CEC in May's Landing NJ at the end of last month (it was undergoing a remodel), we saw that the Studio C Chuck E. bot had new cosmetics to match Chuck E's new clothing. Here's a photo:

We also spoke with a district manager who happened to be in the store, and who says he's been with the company for 16 years. He told us that new stores will not have animatronic shows in them, but that CEC doesn't really have plans to remove existing shows. If they're still in decent working order, there's no reason to spend all that time and money taking them out.
Why is the leg fur covering the shoes? That looks kind of bad.
Those are actually his fur feet. What you see as shoes are actually his toes! :D

Regarding a test store in Plano, the district manager also told us that there was a store in Texas (I forget which city) that was experimenting with a new live stage show thing that is intended to fill in for the lack of animatronics in new stores. I don't have any more information on it than that, though.

You do realize the show the district manager is talking about is the test show at Plano. That's the answer to removal of the stage show...make a more interactive 'dance' area for the walkaround.

I was about to say that it didn't make sense for them to test two different new stage concepts in the same market. LOL!

If a store closes w/ Cool Chuck outfit on CEC, and relocates the bot, will the bot get "Rockstar"?

Yeah okay then, it was the same store. I remember him saying it was a store in Texas but couldn't remember the city. I was too busy being mesmerized by these little dudes he took from the back room. They were going to go home with him for his office =]

Yup. I would guess that eventually all the CEC bots will get Rockstar outfits, assuming they have the budgets for it. I really can't blame CEC for phasing the robots out of new stores. Even though singing animal animatronics are synonymous with the brand, they're very expensive to have built and kept in good order. It's probably not cost effective anymore, and they're much better off spending their money making the food better and improving the overall experience at store.

Most stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are used for tests by CECE. They don't pay much attention to the Irving Store's stage tho. :pasqually:

I rarely see people actually paying attention to the shows or even the monitors. :(

I've noticed little kids watching the show sometimes. Curiously, several times I've noticed that if people spot me filming, they will pay attention too or even whip out their phones and start recording too. So I guess that is a good thing.
