In a non-secluded part of the house? Stranger things have happened, but it sounds kind of unsafe. Convenient in a power outage, though, I guess. |

It's where I put people that don't like Mitzi. No, I'm actually not sure. We use it as storage. |

Welp, into the lil storage closet I go. I live there now. This is my home. Haha, nah, I never was /FAN/ [of her as a CHARACTER, she's got a lovely design] but she's rather grown on me! The stand is nice, looks very sturdy. |

You might want to Ask Aaron as he could be your quickest answer It needs to have a lot of Psi I know that so ask Aaron waht Psi you need in a Air tank Any should work fine as long as the Psi levels are good Edited by BeachBearFanSppIa, Jul 27 2015, 02:38 PM.

First of all, you don't really need to contact Aaron about everything. If fans start bothering him, I guarantee that access will be cut off. He's had to do that before. Second, any decent hardware store air compressor can deliver enough psi to run one character. The RAE ran on 70-80 psi for the whole show. Air compressors that run pneumatic tools can provide that and more. What makes the difference is the size of the tank. The more gallons of compressed air that are stored, the longer you can run the robot before needing to re-air. So, basically, just buy a good hardware air compressor with the largest tank you can afford. Edited by RetroGirl, Jul 27 2015, 10:54 PM.

I did a lot of research when I was choosing a compressor to run PTT Chuck. There are a few other things you should know... Most compressors are loud. And I mean LOUD. Especially indoors. As in "yell to have a conversation" loud. Not a problem if you can run it somewhere else like a garage or outside and run a hose to the bot. If you have to run it in the same room or you have neighbors or other family members you don't want to piss off, spend the extra money for a quiet model. The motor only runs to fill and maintain pressure in the tank. The bigger the tank, the longer it will go between cycles. Most compressor motors are not made to run all the time. They need a cool down period after the motor runs for about 15 minutes or so. Ideally, the motor should kick on, fill the tank in a minute or two and shut off until the pressure drops to a certain point. Don't get one of the compressors with the little pancake tanks. They're cheap but they don't hold enough air to supply a bot and will be running constantly, burning up the motor and getting on everyone's nerves. Make sure the tank has a drain valve, ESPECIALLY if it's a steel tank. The compressor motor attracts condensation, which will turn into water inside the tank. Check for water in the tank every time you use it, or your tank will rust from the inside out. Not a good thing. This is the compressor I decided on for Chuck: http://www.homedepot.com/p/California-Air-Tools-6-3-gal-1-HP-Ultra-Quiet-and-Oil-Free-Steel-Tank-Air-Compressor-6310/202977399 It's relatively quiet and stores enough air to run him for about 10 minutes before kicking on. The size of the cylinders and the number of movements are the determining factors. The noise level is about the same as your average vacuum cleaner. Edited by 80sgirl, Jul 28 2015, 06:09 PM.

Don't think you would need two. If you want to run her for longer between tank refills, they sell one with a larger tank. http://www.homedepot.com/p/California-Air-Tools-10-Gal-2-HP-Ultra-Quiet-and-Oil-Free-Air-Compressor-10020/203245210 You have to order one from their web site. Home Depot doesn't carry this brand in stores. Amazon also sells them, but I went with HD because the return period is longer. |

Thanks so much, so do both of these have the water drain thingy (i don't know the name)? I'll be sure to get this and some solenoid valves. Do you happen to also know about buying solenoids which brand should i go with. Thank you |

Yes, they have a drain valve. As for solenoids, I'm not sure about the CEI bots. That was one thing I didn't have to worry about because Chuck came with his original valve bank. Cyberamics use Clippard valves. I think the CEI bots use MAC. Unless you plan on running Mitzi in a commercial environment, any valve bank that has enough outlets for all her movements and can take air hoses the same diameter as the connections on the cylinders would probably work fine. The only thing you would have to worry about is making sure the solenoids, controller and power supply all have the same voltage. Try to get a used valve bank if you can. Solenoid valves are not cheap. Clippard charges about $25 a pop for new ones. |

Some houses have two electrical panels- one in the unfinished basement and another in a finished area of the house (usually a finished basement). |
