So with SPP showtapes, did they run hourly? Or were they spaced out differently? Also, what about New Years 88? Did that actually run until midnight? Or what? Oh! And the Afterhours Show. Was that played after hours at Showbiz? Was it an actual show? Or just audio? |

Okay... Different shows had different playback schedules. Yes, the NY show was supposed to be played (backtimed) to hit midnight. It all depended on the local store starting the show on time. After hours ran... after hours in stores that were trying to build a "late night" audience (usually Friday/Saturday nights). As for the "themed shows" such as Magic Nights and other reels, the shows were first timed to play based on programing in the show computer. In the late 80's the "wave" schedule was implemented and the shows were longer in content, but ran less often. Once CyberVision was implemented, the show schedule depended on the entire video as produced by corp. The shows would usually take an 8 minute intermission and would show a "countdown" on the video monitors while playing "pop" music over the showroom speakers. |

About 11:05 PM I guess. It's roughly 55 minutes long. |

New Year's 1988 is one of my top 3 favorite RAE shows ever. What a fantastic show that is! 55 minutes of wall-to-wall great performances from everyone. |
