As we all know, Billy Bobs Wonderland is an entertainment centre in barboursville that operates one of the last commercial RAE sets in the US, but according to some pictures and videos, there was another Billy Bobs Wonderland in Ashland? Does anyone have any information on when it closed, what state their RAE was in and where the RAE went after they closed. As far as pictures go, the stage looks very full with fake plants and trees, and the centre stage curtain valance is straight across the whole 3 stages, and the characters masks look better than what barboursvilles ones looked like originally.

I believe the Ashland bots went to Barboursville when the former closed and the latter relocated. |

It did happen. Old Barboursville was in terrible shape compared to Ashland, therefore Ashland's better show was sent to the new Barboursville BBW when they opened in January 2003. How come the old barboursville stage had the 3 circular stages whereas now they have a single rectangular stage with the 3 stage curtains |

Likely to match the way Ashland looked which was also a rectangular stage. |

I know, wonder if they had to reprogram the skits with Billy Bob talking to looney bird, because he'd probably turn round and face away from him and turn to where Looney was meant to be |

Guys, most people going to an FEC only glance up at the show maybe once if that. They don't care if the movements work, opt if the cosmetics look good. It's just a momentary distraction. The FEC would rather put their money into the games that actually turn them a profit. That's why shows at FECs almost always look like garbage. Edited by PaulKTF, Jul 21 2015, 12:38 PM.

If that's the case, they should just install some big screen tv's and sell the show to someone who will actually care for it. |

Nah, they already paid for the show- they're going to run it until it just can't run anymore. It serves its purpose without them investing any more money into it. Besides, it's a beat up 35 year old animatronic show. They wouldn't see much of a return on their investment at this point anyway. It's pretty much just junk, but it's junk that serves the purpose they need it for right now. If the show stops running, I imagine it will just stay up there on stage as a display for awhile before it heads to the scrap heap to be replaced with a big screen TV showing Nickelodeon. And no, I'm not any happier about it than you are- if it was my show running in an FEC I'd try to keep it running as close to perfectly as I could, but that's just not a priority for some owners. Some owners just want the songs to play, the lights to flash, and the robots to move a little in some way. Edited by PaulKTF, Jul 21 2015, 12:44 PM.

Let me put it this way- they could get the show fixed maybe not to 100% but very close to it.. but it would probably cost them more money and time and effort than they have. I shouldn't have said that they didn't care but what I meant is that even if they do care that isn't enough- you also need money, time and resources.. or finding someone able and willing to fix it which can also cost money. They're probably operating on a pretty thin profit margin as it is. It makes more sense to invest money in games and rides that will turn them a profit than a show which doesn't directly make them any money. |
