While surfing through random pictures of Creative Engineering animatronics, I came across 4 pictures of a random animatronic show. You see, the posts were created by someone who mistook them for showbiz animatronics, (when they are obviously not) so where are they actually from? I also recall a post of someone looking for animatronics involving a radio station named "woof". They were posted by Flickr user "agnisflugen". here are the descriptions for these pictures (warning: explicit content): 1. "while at a water park in northern indiana this summer, i came across an old showbiz pizza set, just stashed up in the rafters of a picnic shelter and i squealed with delight....it had been so long since i had laid eyes upon mitzi mozzarella or rolfe deWolfe.....they weren't plugged in, and who knows if they still work.....but i swear, as i stood there in that dark, spider infested shelter house, looking up at their weather robotic faces, i thought i heard looney bird's sweet siren song luring me towards the mystical stage of lights..and i suddenly found myself hunkering for some really crappy pizza....." 2. mitzi "am i hot or not?" mozzarella. if you grew up during the 80's and lived near a Showbiz Pizza you know that they dominated the birthday party scene......looking back on this phenomenon, who can forget the terrifying but captivating life size animatronic band that played while you ate pizza?!?........the characters included a bear on bass guitar, a giant gorilla on keyboard, and a cheerleading mouse on vocals, just to name a few.... they were all members of the band, "the rocka fire explosion" which put on performances from 1980-1991.....for those of you not familiar with the phenomenon or for those who just wanna reminisce, here's a VIDEO someone uploaded from their childhood birthday party, documenting that time in history. in later years, the band was sold to other restaurants and entertainment centers and the restaurant was taken over by chuck e cheeses.....a few rocka fire explosion band's exists today....still performing at various fun centers across the states.....some of the original programmers of the show have since re-programming the animatronics to perform such modern classics as: hips don't lie by shakira and pop lock and drop it...from lyrical genius huey. 3. i once was in love with a man that played in a band.. but he stole my money, busted up all my things, and then cheated on me with an underage girl he met on the internet....the moral of this story? never marry your first boyfriend right out of high school. 4.suppressed memories.... have a way of resurfacing. overlay texture by sismoon so believe it or not, this guy made his pictures look crappy ON PURPOSE, which kind of pisses me off, seeing how unique they would look in a clear picture. But whatever, I guess it looks artsy. These were taken at the Deep River Waterpark. The show is now in storage. They came from a Celebration Station. Deep River bought the show from them when they closed down. |
