While visiting the town, I passed by a Chuck E. Cheese...well, not so much that, but a sign for it. The real restaurant is squirreled away behind a parking lot and a steep hill. The place had some old wall art (I want to say...phase 3? But I'm not familiar with the phases), with some even on the arcade games. I didn't pay too much attention, though...I was more fascinated with the show! The place used to be an old Showbiz Pizza Place, and lacked a Wink prop. It did, however, have Pizzacam! At first, I was worried he was in terrible shape; my only shot was looking into the box, and all I could see were some melted latex around his lens and eye mech, and some weird, gooey white stuff above his left eye. While music videos and ads played, I got a good look at the animatronics. They were FANTASTIC! What was the most interesting were the eyes. Chuck and Munch had switched eyes; Chuck had brown eyes, and Munch had blue eyes. Truth be told, 3-stage Chucks with those blue eyes are a little intimidating...here, he seemed a little more friendly. Everyone moved beautifully. I have two videos of the two programmed songs: Then...there was the Moon. He was...well, a little rough to say the least. I thought the Moon was composed of foam or harder latex, but this Moon seemed to look flimsier and way, WAY more blue. I wonder if he was a holdover from Concept Unification, but all the videos I've seen have that white-blue Moon. Either way, it was a really fun time! Edited by NervousBird, Aug 30 2015, 07:44 PM.

Awesome! Thank you for visiting there! I'm kinda scared, it looks like all Pizzacam are basically melting. I guess the original mold for these are long gone to make more molds. I wonder if they have any extra masks sitting in HQ? |

I don't they make parts for the props anymore there all picked from other three stages so if a 3 stage is removed with pizzacam its possible that they will send the mask to another location if its in acceptable condition

Nice finds! If a location w/ Pizzacam closes it's Cam is gone AFAIK. This artwork is Phase 4. :chuckthumbs: Edited by Patrick Boots CEC, Sep 10 2015, 06:32 PM.

You're very welcome! Yeah, I think it's the age. In my opinion, though, he's held up pretty well. The show didn't have a ton of lights (in retrospect, I'm not even sure it had spotlights), so there wasn't a whole lot of excess heat beating down on him, either.
I agree; it's sad to think about that, but it's the most believable option. I think they may have replacements for the Building and Moon, though, since those guys seem to be the principle background singers for the shows.
Thank you! And heh...I secretly have plans to swoop in and buy him if that happens. No guarantee, of course, but it's still fun to plan and plot. Pizzacam is one of my favorites; I'm going to spare him from the dumpster if I can!
Thank you! I plan on returning at some point; perhaps before I can arrange a meeting with the manager and talk to him or her about it. It certainly would be cool to see! |

Sorry for bumping a dead thread, but I went back for the holiday show and I wanted to share my findings. ![]() First and foremost, it's decorated for Christmas. It's not much, but it was pretty hot when I visited. I can see why they didn't want to wear much more. ![]() Second, I recorded videos of all the shows. I've uploaded all but two to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1-DvrMDyXI00LZNgq4GWYQ (Sorry for the self promotion. ^^;) I also snapped some pics of Chuck's and Munch's eye color while I was there. I used a flashlight, so this time they should be a little more visible. I still wonder what made them swap out Fatz's eyes for Beach's during CU. I also got a good pic of Pizzacam. He's worse than I thought. ![]() You can see that slick, white spot above his left eye in clear detail, as well as the intense cracking around his eyes and lens. I knew he wasn't in the best shape, but this was way worse than I figured. I also conducted a brief interview with both the manager and the technician! The technician was an absolute gift. He was so polite and nice! The manager hadn't been working there for too long, but I received direct verbal confirmation that Roanoke, VA has no plans to remodel or relocate, nor remove the animatronics! A 3-Stage is secure for a little longer. ![]() The technician had been working there for six years. He told me the Wink prop had been removed when the location renovated for Phase 4, and he was told not to put it back. I guess it was too 'phase 3', and they wanted a more unified look for the whole store. The prop is currently in storage (and he wouldn't let me see it. Dang. xP). In addition, he was familiar with the black plastic Pizzacam casing, and actually planned on ordering materials to make the cosmetics! He was also aware of Pizzacam's rarity, so I'm glad he's working to keep him preserved. ![]() Thanks to everyone who commented on my topic 'Talking to Managers/Technicians'! It really helped me muster up the courage to ask those questions, let alone talk to them in the first place! ^^ Edit: Okay, images don't appear to be working, so I attached them to the post. Nice! It's good to know that there is pizzacam out there. It's interesting that Virginia is the only state with two 3-stage CEC with pizzacam. |
