He is probably no longer there, but in this video (around 0:30 and 0:58) Barney the Bear from Circus World is just laying in the Funtown Mountain parking lot. Does anyone live nearby? He needs to be saved! Oops forgot to post video link http://www.courier-journal.com/story/entertainment/2015/09/06/funtown-mountain-appears-abandoned/71815394/ Edited by animatronicsgirl, Sep 7 2015, 02:21 AM.

That's terrible, I'm glad the Wolfpack 5 never shipped or else they probably would have suffered the same fate. The park is clearly done and sadly Aaron lost a chance of making a lot of money selling the Wolfpack 5 to them. Hopefully he will find another buyer since he already put so much work into getting them fixed up. |

It's sad that the park barely lasted a year but at least the Wolfpack 5 is safe. Gosh Barney looked so much nicer before he arrived at funtown. I hate seeing such a nice work of art lying on the ground and in pretty rough shape. |

According to the pictures accompanying this article from today, looks like Barney the Bear is still laying there on the ground ![]() http://www.glasgowdailytimes.com/news/funtown-s-owner-says-business-not-abandoned/article_f82f3c36-55bf-11e5-bbfb-37190769613f.html |

I just came here to post that article. This is his idea of art and fun? Destroying history? Destroying things people put so much work into to create? This is depressing. To see so many things I love destroyed by someone I admired. |

I think I can say that for all people who see this: It really really hurts seeing those figures lying round there... |

He's one of those hipster "artists" that thinks good art is doing something weird and shocking. I did some research and looking back the whole idea seemed kinda poorly executed. The whole marketing of it was off. The main attraction was the Western-themed town (that he never got opened) but he marketed it as a carnival or circus with the logo and advertising. That would be fine if he was going to convert the town to a circus or something along those lines but in a video he stated that he'd keep it fully intact as it was historical in his eyes. He also refused to bring back the mock cowboy duels, which judging from the comments was a very popular event at the old attraction. I don't really see how he could succeed by opening a failed attraction, removing a popular feature and adding in confusing branding. Maybe I'm missing something but that's how I saw it. If you know more feel free to correct me. |

They also really pushed that Haunted House attraction-thingy. But for most they showed us that Western town. I don't know anything about the history of this theme park but I am really sad that it came to this end right now I am sure the original owners would be very sad and dissappointedAs for the animatronics: I think he saw somewhere that he could lay his hands on some animatronics, and just bought everything he could get... I don't think he ever thought about connecting them, or using them... then he might have seen how much attention Aaron Fechter gets with his Rock-afire Explosion and his other shows, so that might be why he bought the Wolfpack 5, he saw that they are loved by many people and he thought buying them would make his theme park more popular because they were in a warehouse for about 30 years and many fans want to see it. Well, he might have also destroyed them, I am glad they are still at CEI. I can only imagine what they would look like right now -.- |

I watched a video that showed the haunted house and it looked really boring. It had almost no animated props and just seemed really lazily put together. Judging from some reviews of Funtown others that actually went to it felt the same way. It had potential to be cool, but they just couldn't do it. Somebody should really jack Barney the Bear if he's still there. It would be a shame to see a nice animatronic like that rust away in a parking lot. |

Yep I saw some pictures on instagram. Barney seems to be still there, he's now lying on his belly and you can see wires and tubes coming out of his head. Also his back-fur is ripped open I would buy him though, even in this condition...

I had misgivings from the beginning on this. He said his intent was to re-theme the town to a carnival type attraction. He stated that he wanted an animatronic band to perform in the saloon, which is a fine idea. He hinted at getting an RAE but wound up with the Wolf Pack 5 connection, which is fine for his stated purpose. I first questioned his business sense, though, when he was using images of Colonel Sanders in his "Funtown" posters earlier this year. Anyone who does business should know that you can't use another company's trademark in your own advertising. Meanwhile, though, he's taking the money from the Tourism loan and the Kickstarter, and instead of improving the property, getting the chair lift working, and re-themeing the park, he's out buying vintage toys, non-working animatronics, and advertising memorabilia that doesn't fit his stated theme. Then, he "advertises" his park with videos showing his employees playing around with all of this cool stuff, having "Fun at Funtown Mountain." But, there was never any real indication of any work at the park itself. I got the feeling that the donors and the state of Kentucky were paying for this guy to collect stuff he thought was cool and goof off in his own personal playground. None of the taxpayers money seemed to be going toward fixing up this park. Oh, and apparently he wasn't using it to pay his employees, either. I'm guessing that has more to do with why they left than any "police harassment." Then you have the DUI, drug charges, vandalism of his own property. Now he claims that's just art. No, the guy's not well and needs help. It's too bad. These vintage roadside attractions have all but disappeared. There has been some interest in preserving them of late, but it may be too late for Guntown Mountain. |

Wow what a mess. I watched the video and it looked like the place had been involved in a natural disaster or something. The owner is obviously not thinking clearly at this point. I am SO glad the wp5 didn't end up here. |

I think Will has some mental problems... saying that trashing a roadside attraction and destroying animatronics is art ... well I think that speaks for itself. I can only say it once again: If it was his thought to destroy them in the first place he could have given me the Circus Show for free... I also asked for Mitzi but I am more than happy that she is now at a fan's house and not destroyed on the parking lot. |
