Feel free to give some neat facts about these locations if possible. Thanks! Edited by Dr. Wink, Nov 7 2015, 08:56 PM.

Welcome to the bumpening! It's been a while, but I saw Newmarket's CEC had the sign torn down and windows covered with sheets. Is it remodeling or closed forever? Update: I checked the CEC site and sadly found out that Newmarket isn't there anymore, as are Windsor and Kingston. I'll move them to a new section with former locations. For now, let's take a moment to reflect on those poor games and Studio C bots that we lost in these recent times... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SiylvmFI_8 Edited by Dr. Wink, Nov 7 2015, 07:29 PM.

The bots will probably go back to corporate and get fixed up. |

Yeah, but still we won't see them in their stores since they're shut down. Edited by Dr. Wink, Nov 7 2015, 07:44 PM.

There was one in Winnipeg, MB. I don't know what stage it has or when it closed. |

Do you know the Phase at least? Or its current state from your estimate?

I looked it up, and its location has currently become a nightclub. Oop, I listed Windsor as closed, but it currently isn't. I changed it now, sorry! Edited by Dr. Wink, Nov 7 2015, 08:51 PM.

Just a thought here, but when Pizza Time Theatre was expanding into Canada, I wonder if Madame Oink would have become a focal point of both the show and the marketing had they opened any Quebec locations. According to the Pizza Times December 1981 issue, the first Canadian PTT store opened 10/15/81 in Burlington, Ontario. Oink was still a featured character up through 1983, so it's entirely feasible that if PTT ventured into Quebec in 1982, she would have been featured prominently and a French showtape would have been necessary (either dubbing the original tape from English to French or having entirely separate tapes recorded in French by local actors). Although I'm not Canadian (though being a New Englander living in Massachusetts, I could reach Quebec or New Brunswick through New Hampshire or Maine), I am interested in Canadian history and know how serious Quebecers are about maintaining their unique identity as a Francophone-majority province. Then again, perhaps Quebecers would have been offended that the PTT character that would have been intended to appeal to them was a pig! |
