At some point Pasqually lost his concertina! (Oh and for those who want to read up on the concertina, here you go https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concertina ) He has it in this 1984 footage: He doesn't have it in this 1987 footage: And in this 1989 footage he doesn't have it. I'm kind of wondering if post-merger Showbiz decided to remove it for some reason? I can't find any evidence of it being on any balcony Pasqually past about 1984. Did they remove it for the Bandstand costume change (I can't remember) and just tell stores to keep it off? Does anyone have any pictures or footage of Pasqually with the concertina past 1984? Yeah I think they only changed his arm motion when they converted those stages into Road stages or 1 and 2 stages where he had to play the drums. Until then he just kind of flapped his arms together and apart. heh. |

There is a 2-Stage that still has the old Pasqually movements. |

I'm more interested in when he lost the instrument than when they removed the movements- I know they changed the movements when they changed the stages. But it seems like they removed the instrument long before the balcony stages were converted to anything else. |

They did remove it for Bandstand (and also gave him a cute set of bongos!): ![]() However, the 2/1-stage conversion wasn't the first time Pasqually's arms were designed to move separately... In the manual for 1987's TV Westerns showtape, they said to switch his airlines so that both hands would move separately, as one of his props was a flyswatter. However, it mentions nothing about the concertina. - I'm guessing that there was some sort of memo to lose it, but nothing major happened if stores just decided to keep it... |
