I'm posting this in this forum because it was released in 1985 following the merger so I consider it more of a CEC thing than a true PTT release (I consider the PTT forum for topics relating to the "true" pre-marger PTT). In 1985 CEC released a vinyl single with Ricky Ajhar singing as Chuck E. ![]() The songs on it were: Ricky Ajhar (1985 CEC Vinyl) - I'm Da Greatest Ricky Ajhar (1985 CEC Vinyl) - The Biggest Fan (Yes I took the picture from the SP.com Facebook page and the track listing from the SP.com song list page). I've heard "I'm Da Greatest" on Radio Showbiz and... geez, it's not a very good song! They could have stuck just about any songs from the real show tapes from this era on the 45 and it would have been a lot better! Why didn't they just have Scott Wilson do the voice of Chuck E. for the record? Or at least have the guy who voiced Chuck E. on the "History Of Rock And Roll" show tape? Were they trying to duplicate the success of the Showbiz/Rock-Afire Explosion 45s? Edited by PaulKTF, Sep 17 2015, 02:40 PM.

I'm pretty sure it was a local production and not done by corporate. Not so much because of the voice but because if it were corporate, there would probably be more surviving copies. It was made around the time of the History of Rock and Roll showtape where Chuck had yet another voice actor. I think the LP voice artist sounds better than the other VA. |

Is this the only CEC/PTT related item on vinyl? |

There is a copyright listing for a cassette tape with 9 original songs on it. Filed by the same person who made the singles album. Not sure if it was ever made or eventually became this record. |
