My first experience with repairing animatronics was actually repairing beat up Teddy Ruxpins that would pop up on ebay for about $5-10. The Most extensive repair ive had to do was probably when i had to replace all 3 servos in the head and the cassette motor because it looked like someone had taken him in a pool or a bathtub. The most cosmetic repair ive had to do is one i found at a thrift store that had purple nail polish all over the fur(i actually took the fur apart and made a pattern out of it and then went to JO-ANNs fabric store and bought the closest fur i could find and remade the whole outer covering including the head, shirt, hands, and legs). The most unique repair ive done is when i had a 3rd generation Teddy whos plastic tape player was pretty much busted up(it was in about 9 pieces) so i took a spare metal tape player i had and adapted it to work with the 3rd generation Teddy board. |
