Okay, I know I'm jumping the gun by two years here, but Studio C Alpha debuted in 1998 meaning that it's 18 years old now and will be 20 years old in 2018. http://showbizpizza.com/ptp/stages/studioc-alpha.html I think that it looks the most outdated of the Studio C variations. Both Alpha and Beta have the blue screens which aren't used anymore. The interactive control panels were removed from most locations awhile ago since the computers that ran them are now obsolete and kids weren't really using them anyway. Plus the bird isn't used as a character like it was supposed to be, and those zebra stripes above the blue screen are hideously ugly! Basically a decent chunk of the space that the show takes up is now not being used for what it was meant for. I kind of wonder how much longer they're going to keep the Alpha and Beta stages installed before they replace them all with COL? 18 years is a really great run for any one stage type but the whole Studio C concept is kind of lame without the bluescreen/camera. Yeah, I guess... But all the Studio C stages are really looking pretty dated- especially because the cosmetics on the Chuck E. bot don't match the CGI character or the puppet anymore. |

I'm not sure why they went with Studio C. It sounds like it was more expensive then the cyberamics and there's all the difficulty with the camera and panel. Nevermind the fact they have to do different programming and showtapes and all the other issues. I think the concept of Studio C is awesome but also feel it had missed opportunities. They said how expensive AAM was but how much more was it compared to Alpha? By Beta the concept for Studio C made no sense since they stopped treating it like a Studio. I remember when I was young they had Cast Members say you're on the studio and say when they were on the air. It felt as a kid it was real. And now? They have no idea what it is now. *end rant |

It's definitely weird to think about... I feel pretty young, but when you think about it, I remember my Dad talking to a store manager about a "new" stage type coming to CT - that was Studio C Beta, which is now 15 years old!! Time goes by so quickly. |

If the issue was they wanted a show to hold kids attention more then a cyberamic stage they could've added different effects to them or just keep updating them. Imagine a cyberamic stage with circles of light in the backround to look flashier. Or fancier disco lighting. Keeping consistent with the shows I feel like would've kept the shows up to date with new stuff and cosmetics.

since they were both installed at the same time, I wonder weather the home office bot or the one that was removed from old Montfort was the 1st Studio C bot |

That beta replaced a 2-Stage. In 1999, a new stage was coming to Rhode Island, a Studio C Alpha. Orange CT's beta will be 10 years old this year. the 32m bet will be 15 years old and the 16M version will be 13 years old. |

What....... "That Beta" was Meriden in 2001, not Orange several years later. I'm pretty well informed on my home state, thanks for the information though!!! |

this is just my opinion but i think the COL show (color of lights) is just a lazier made stage i havent really seen any footage of it but i think its just lights instead of a animatronic, and i think i remember having a C alpha at my CEC (former SPP) since i was afraid of the blue screen or it could of been something else, not too sure.. |
