What would you do if you owned CEC? Would you run in in a way that earns more money, or go crazy spending money on new characters?

If I owned CEC. I'd do the following Renovate the main stage area to resemble the old PTT look complete with the clapper board and waving flags. Also a return of the Warblettes and band stand. I'd definitely bring back the old balcony stage or the porch stage with the house façade. Bring in Aaron Fetcher and give him controlling interest and convert the less profit stores into Showbiz Pizza Places. Make a deal with Scott Cawthon for a special Halloween set of skits guest staring Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy from Five Nights at Freddy's for a frightful Halloween crossover. Also bring back a lot of the classic arcade games like TMNT, X-men (six player version), Disks of Tron, Vs. Super Mario Bros, and many more. Also bring back the sports area with big screen. Would go well for important games like the World Series or NBA Finals. |

I would do a revival of some of the older characters. give them a more 'updated' look without completely obliterating their core design. |

If I owned CEC, this is what I would do. * Give "Big C" and his friends new "retro" character designs(rather than the "Rockstar" designs they've been using since 2012). * Change Chuck.E back from a mouse to a rat. As well as bring back his New Jersey accented voice(No disrespect to those who like Jaret's Chuck E voice I don't like it, but I don't mind if you like it. To each his or her own). * Bring back Helen's waddles, comb, and clucking(I would have her cluck when she speaks, but when she sings, she'll cluck either once or twice) I'd also bring back her crush with Chuck.E(since there are some people who like them as a couple i.e.Chelen shippers). * Give CEC a more all-ages demographic ala PTT or Dave & Busters(i.e various games for older kids+teens,a seperate place for adults, inserting jokes/references that adults will get in the shows, etc). * Introduce a brand new stage show that has 5 characters(in either animatronic or holographic forms) curtains 2 or 3 wide screen TVs, a Chuck.E Live turntable, and feature a 2nd version(ala 1-stage/2-stage) for smaller locations. Basically trying to focus more on the show, and not just the games and food in general. * Utilize both tokens and the PlayPass system for games( for a sense of variety). * Bring back the "segment" show format from the old shows. * Showcase Chuck.E's friends more often( i.e cameo apperances in print/TV ads, a new comic book series created by either IDW or Boom! Comics, new comfortable walkarounds with movable mouths in their heads, etc). * Modify the website a little bit by making the background more colorful(rather than having it be white), bringing in more games+videos, rename the Kids Corner to Fun-Net, give the characters their own section(s), bring back their history section( now with a interactive timeline). * Introduce an animated series featuring "Big C" and his friends(specifically my idea for that). * Close down several locations and open some new ones. * Have CEC be in more international locations like Japan, France, U.K, India, and many others. * Celebrate the 40th anniversary in a big way(i.e new merchandise, commercials, promotions, a new show that's a parody of "This Is Your Life", etc. Edited by tchar95, Jun 1 2016, 05:31 PM.

I'd bring back Chuck e's 1993-2012 image and re-personalize rockstar chuck as chuck e's younger brother "chuck jr", bring back the segment format, mascot music videos, and have the characters do covers & parodies again as well as performing original songs in the showtapes, add in classic arcade games & a Dance Dance Revolution game, and (as someone else said before) make it for all ages (ala Dave & Busters) and have the characters sprinkle in a few adult jokes that'll easily go over kids' heads. Purchase DVDs of the CEC music videos that plays in the showtapes and a CEC video editing computer program that allows "teens to adults" to put & edit together their own versions of the CEC music videos with the exact individual "originally recorded" footages included on cd-rom, at the prize booth. And, as long as its free of bad language, have the people play songs that they like to sing and dance to for their parties from their CDs, iPods, or iPhones Edited by DinnerThriller, Jun 2 2016, 04:58 PM.

First post from me in ages (long story short: My old laptop caught a nasty virus and all my passwords were saved on it, so I lost my password here and just finally requested to enter a new one, plus work has been pretty busy), but here are some ideas I would implement if I had the keys to the kingdom: Designate the San Jose, CA location on Fontaine Rd. as an historic location with a marker indicating that it was the second Chuck E. Cheese to be opened. I would also try to acquire as much vintage PTT-era memorabilia as possible (signage, posters) to be put back in the store to tie it back to its origins. I'd have one of the floors remodeled to resemble a Pizza Time Theatre as much as possible, especially by having a recreation of a balcony show, along with a King show and at least 1 or 2 cabaret acts. I'd also track down old walkaround costumes for as many of the characters as possible in order to complete the experience, plus have only retro video, pinball, and redemption games in the arcade area (but they have to be specific to the PTT years, so only games from 1977-1984). The goal would be to tap into the still-popular '80s nostalgia movement by appealing to those who grew up going to PTT a chance to a relive their youth and share it with those who weren't alive to experience it (myself included). If this proved to be successful, I'd then have PTT sections added to the other CECs that originally opened as PTTs. Each PTT section would have to be tailored according to the size of each store so as to incorporate the most important parts, primarily the animatronics, walkarounds, carpets, decor, signage, and having separate rooms as opposed to consolidating everything into 1 giant room like they do today. In general, I would have adult rooms added in multiple locations to attract the parents and young adults who need a break from the chaos. I'd have some TVs playing sports along with more grown-up arcade games (especially the classic video and pinball games) and dance floors with music playing through the speakers. I'd also reemphasize the show in marketing and in each store by eliminating most of the TVs (1 or 2 could be kept for playing the videos, but no more than that as they would distract too much from the main show) and making certain that each commercial had at least 10 seconds devoted to the show. That's it for now. I'll share more of my hypothetical suggestions later. |
