It's Marc's with the retrofit PTT balcony shows. The full name is Marc's Funtime Pizza Palace. There are a few threads on it already: http://w11.zetaboards.com/Retro_Pizza_Zone/topic/11452281/1/?x=90#new http://w11.zetaboards.com/Retro_Pizza_Zone/topic/11453518/1/?x=90#new |

*pops out of lurking* I remember this place! Grew up in the Akron area and remember going to one of these when I was 6. It was the "Akron" location. (Located at the Chapel Hill Mall in Cuyahoga Falls). Apparently CEC/PTT pulled out of the NE Ohio market for a while in the late 80s/early 90s and Marc's (Grocery Store Chain owned by local entrepreneur Marc Glassman) bought some of the locations and ran them as FECs. That location became a Brown Derby Roadhouse restaurant in 1993 or so. I think it is now a furniture store. I don't remember much about the inside of that location unfortunately. My dad and I dropped in for a few minutes while my mother was shopping at JC Penney. I was scared of Animatronics at the time and only stepped into the showroom for a bit. I do remember the figures singing "Tiptoe Through The Tulips" or something like that in falsetto. Apparently they got somebody to re-do the show soundtracks and re-skin the characters as random animals. |
