Studio C Alpha Interactive Console
Topic Started: Aug 23 2016, 10:01 AM (5,015 Views)

We recently went on a day trip to the cec in Latham, NY which is just outside of Albany. Our goal was to fully document the studio c alpha interactive console. I thought you guys might be interested, so here you go! We split it up into 2 videos. The first focuses on the cameras and sounds. The second focuses on the activity center.

Do we know how many locations still have this? The ones that I know of that do are: Latham NY, Wyomissing PA, Burlington NJ, and Berwyn PA

Wyomissing removed its console? I went back in December, and they still had it. Where's the proof thatt it's gone?
There are pictures on instagram that show it's gone.

Can you post a link to them? I'm very curious about this, considering the console at Wyomissing was a huge part of my experience at CEC growing up.

Sure, I'll be happy to provide proof. :) Anyone can feel free to ask at anytime. I have nothing to hide. If I'm ever wrong let me know. I don't want to provide misinformation after all.

Unfortunately there is several examples of it being gone on both instagram and google maps. Trust me, I dont want it to be true either. I wanted to go there myself and check out the phase 3 alpha goodness. There are pictures of it still being there in January but seems to be gone by February according to the google maps pictures.

That's Wyomissing alright. :) Thanks for the pics, Bamlink. :)

On one hand, I'm kind of shocked that they removed the console. Considering they've had it for so long with it being broken, I just assumed they'd keep it for ages until they remodel or replace the stage, or something similar to that scenario. It's a shame it's gone, but it was useless in its final months. In my review for this location back from December, in My blog on this site, I describe how broken it was, so it wasn't really a major loss. It's sad, but it was kind of more depressing witnessing it slowly rot.

R.I.P the Wyomissing Pennsylvania Interactive Console: (Sometime around) 2000/2001-2017.

Does any one know if Downingtown, PA still has it? I couldn't find any recent pictures that confirmed or denied.

I know Downingtown was confirmed to have the console a few days ago, but still, I went there today, and rest assured, it's still there, as of the beginning of April 2017. :)

I know it may seem unnecessary to update on something that's been updated less than a week ago, but I did promise I'd head down there, and see if it was still there sometime this year, so I wanted to fulfill that promise :)

How was the Phase 3? I love that store because it's Phase 3 in all its glory. I love the showroom walls in that location! Was the bot doing good? Last time I was there, he had a few movements out!

Oh, the Phase 3 was awesome, as usual. It wasn't as special as the first time I visited it (In December 2015) (Maybe because it wasn't at night like the first visit :$ , or because I'm used to it by now). It was awesome seeing the Console again (In full working order, so I definitely can't see it going away anytime soon). The Bot did have some problems. For instance: The Curtains were out, so I guess that messed up the bot a little, because whenever he'd get in the same position he was between songs during the songs, he would freeze a little for a few seconds. Plus, his mouth movement was really slow, and couldn't really catch up. The first song I watched (Keep Drummin'), his movements were a little delayed, due to them starting later than usual, when the song started (It took him a bit to get out of random mode).

That sucks that Lubbock removed it because that's in my district. I only have one local CEC in that district because the rest are franchised but you get it.
So it seems that someone got the original 1998 control panel software and ripped the 3D model. Who did this and do they still own it?

Berwyn had a console!? Aw man :-/

If I knew that, I would've went there sooner! Alas, Pennsylvania has no more interactive consoles. If I want to see one, I'd have to travel far to Latham, or Bridgewater.

One day, ALL Studio C Alphas will no longer have the console nor the Bluescreen. Jonesboro replaced it with NOTHING with the Ticket Blaster in front of it.

Giving you info about the Show!
I just checked all of them, and it looks like Atlanta, GA has removed its console. Check out the picture below. Also, a couple of corrections: Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids are MI.

Thanks, I guess I missed that when I was checking them over. Thanks for the corrections as well. So that means we're down to 16 remaining. :( I have to wonder if Latham, NY might be next. Vestal just lost their skytubes and is getting playpass in August. Latham is in the same district so I wonder if they will be making some changes as well. This is just speculation of course, though. It might be worth another trip down there. We have been wanting to go anyway.

Also I'm not sure if I have mentioned this or not but I also have this info in stages and locations google doc. On both the studio c and totals pages. So you can always look there for up to date info when this topic gets buried. I check them over every once in a while. Though at this rate, perhaps I should do so more often. link to stages and locations list if you want it
