After 35+ years at this location, and one of the original SPP stores in the market, CEC is being forced to close (move) this store because of the "Customers" who go there. (Thanks idiots!) ![]() LINK: http://patch.com/illinois/oaklawn Edited by Menutia, Dec 8 2016, 08:14 AM.

It's really a shame. I know family memeber who used to have such a great time at this store when it was a Showbiz Pizza Place. I even went there on when I was on vacation. Of corse I only wanted Celebration Station, but the place still stuck with me. They still have to go to court. Although CEC is going to try to defend this over preforming store, I think we can agree they don't have the best legal team as proven by an incident 2 years ago about. |

Oh man, that's pretty sad but on the plus side at least they're moving and not just closing down the store and laying off the employees. |

Probably not. It probably would be a No-bot COL or Chuck E. Live stage. |

This breaks my heart so much. This store was my childhood. It was the first Chuck E. Cheese I went to back in the day when it was a three stage and had a red hair Helen Henny. I still went there when they got a Studio C and loved it almost the same way....what a bummer. |

I'm sorry to say it's gonna be the latter. Outside of foreign locations, COL (bot or no bot) has now become a dead concept. |

Sorry if it misread this, but you're saying COLs are now obsolete in installation? |

Instead of dreading, we should all find pictures and praise that it does get relocated instead of closing!!

Yes, I feel this is the best option for CEC and I feel I ever visit relatives in Chicago again, I'll be sure to return. Although I will forever miss the old massive store size and layout, I'll be glad to see something new. Personally I just hope they keep the studio C Beta. |

Yes, COL is now an obsolete concept at least in terms of new locations opening here in America. But if you're an international location, than MAYBE you might still get a botless COL. |

Sorry for the bumb, but here’s some updates, I recently talked to the district manager and he said that they are closing on Sunday and that they will NOT relocate because the places they were looking for were too expensive to get. |

Sad. To think this is a closure not because of leasing issues or running out of business, it closed because of dumb adults who can't control themselves at a children's environment. |

Unfortunately, that's what they have to do when CECs close. None of their material can be reused so they make it unusable. |

Agreed! That's what I always think whenever we get those news stories about adults brawling and behaving much, much worse than the children. |

There are some people that argue alcohol is to blame, but I don't think so. Not by itself. I think it's a combination of things....bright colors, separated families, race based (won't say which one), and highly aggravated parents (ran into one years ago, but no fight happened) |
