I kinda agree with Indiana, I've had the same issue too and it makes for some awkward reply messages. And sometimes, unnecessary bumps. |

I personally, as a newer user, really like the QM feature. In most cases if it wasn't for the QM I would have never gotten back to the person. Despite all this, I agree with your argument. I just wish there could be some sort of compromise of sorts made. Maybe a spam filter that blocks words like "bump" on forms that are so old. |

I use that button so much, its the only way for us to tell when someone has mentioned your post in any thread, its a quick link to those so you dont have to find it, and it is an add-on.

I actually prefer the quote mentions. It helps me keep up with a thread I'm involved in somehow while being gone for a while. Since I make a lot of typo's making thread messages (because I rush them) it's also a shame that the editing time is only for a very short period. |

My stance on this still is the same, the quote mention notification system is very glitchy, or at least for me. It once notified me about a mention that was posted nearly 2 months ago, and when I replied to it, it was very awkward and it resulted in a very weird bump. It toys with my anxiety when it does that... |

It's does the same thing for me... But I don't think that's any good reason to remove quote mentions. The akward, maybe, but I'd rather bump a topic and get a reply 3 months later then neve get a reply. |

I really like the quote mention button. It's an easy way to refer to past comments that may not be noticed by other members. |
