Hello everyone! This weekend, my family and I went to pick up a Helen Henny Cyberamic. I will be restoring her to her original state. Her cosmetics were made in around July of '83. She has different cosmetics than the normal 80s Helen. There are no feathers, her eye "makeup" is different and she has... shoulders? I'll post some pictures. The seller had her for a wing restaurant he owned. His friend gave it to him in '85 after a store closed and he got the whole stage. The seller also said that all of the cosmetics were original and have never been replaced. The bot was originally made sometime in '82. I'm just wondering if the cosmetics are on wrong, but I tried putting them on lots of different ways and the way I have them on now seems to fit best, except it's a little tight on the back metal bar that spans across her shoulder width. The velcro that holds on her hair had fallen off of her head and been glued. Should I get someone to sew it back on properly? They also used safety pins to hold the mat attached to the velcro onto her hair... I'll come back to that later. Lots of jewelry was glued onto the foam. Is there a way I should go about taking that glue off? There's also a netting inside her cosmetics on the foam that keeps getting caught on the fingers and torn, and her fingers were so sharp and broken that I had to take the hands off until I fix the fingers from flopping. She's alright mechanically, but I'll be getting to that in a while. If you have any clues about her cosmetics, please let me know. More posts coming soon. |
