Follow Me On My CEC Journey!
|
The idea of this thread came when I realized I had a lot of confessions of being a fan. I knew that a lot of things probably were relatable to other fans, and boom, a thread was born! The purpose of this thread is to peacefully share experiences or confessions that you would like to get off your chest of being a fan of CEC. This isn't a thread used to point fingers or try and get people into trouble. It's just for fun! You can add multiple confessions just make sure to number them. I'll go first: Confession #1: I once ate a chicken nugget off the floor due to a bet I made with my friends

Confession #3: As a kid, my sister used to always want to go to a place called "Pump It Up" for her birthday, but I was deathly terrified of blow up jumpers at the time, so I begged my mom to have my sister's party at Chuck E. Cheese. I can see why my sister hates CEC to this day LOL. |

Ever since I first went when I was 3, I always knew the animatronics and walk around were fake. They were too jerky and obviously fake. I would look inside the mouth when the animatronics talked and I could see the mechanisms. One day they left the computer room door open and I got to see how the show actually worked. |

I wouldn't make a good performer at your store. The only way I could be is if I wore some really high heels. Or if you had to have short Helen performers. Confession #2: When I was younger, I was sitting on the edge of the stage talking to one of my relatives. My Mom told me to sit somewhere else, but I didn't. "A Live Stage for you and you and you!"

When I went to my first CEC when I was 5, during the show I sat next to the stage and stared at the 32 movement bot's foot. The tapping was weird and mesmerizing to me. |

"retarted" Probably not the smartest choice to say that on a forum, let alone one like ours. Not to mention, if you're gonna say it in negative connotation, at least try to SPELL IT RIGHT? Edited by Jack, Aug 30 2017, 08:23 PM.

Don't Smoke Crayolas!

When I was a kid I was at CEC watching walkaround Chuck greet kids in front of the stage. My mom told me to go up and see him, so I did and he turned around and hit me in the face with his snoot, which almost knocked me over. I was afraid of walkaround Chuck for a few years after that. |

1. When I was at the Bellevue CEC when I was four, I got mad at a kid for some reason (I forget why) and chased them out of the SkyTubes and around them. I was in Day Care on a field trip that day. (If you're that kid and you're still a fan today and reading this, I'm sorry. ) 2. At that same CEC on that same day, I was terrified (or scared) of the walkaround until we had to leave, when I went to put my hand on the railing and I touched Chuck's soft paw. Several years later (when I was either 8, 9 or 10) I went to the Tacoma location and once again was scared of the walkaround (since it was a long time since I accidentally touched the Avenger walkaround's hand). The time when I touched the Avenger walkaround's hand, the walkaround and I were both heading out the door on opposite sides of the railing (of course). I don't think I saw the other characters out, just Chuck E. 3. When I first went to the Tacoma CEC for the first time, I was scared of the animatronic Chuck E. 'cause I thought it would be able to walk or something... I was in foster care at this time, and the person who took me there had to touch the animatronic's foot to show that it wouldn't do anything (or something like that). 4. When I was in the SkyTubes my first or second time (I don't remember which) in the Tacoma location, I looked out one of the SkyTubes' windows which was directly across from the blue screen a certain distance away, and I think there was a party going on. I asked the person who was with me (who took me there) if I could go over there. She said no (and probably said that there was a party, I don't remember). But I remember seeing the blue screen and seeing kids dancing in front of it or whatever, and I looked at the three screens and saw the kids who were in front of the blue screen on the TV! Except the background was blue and didn't show the showtape (like I read they do a year or two ago). 5. When I first asked if I could get an ice cream on one of my visits to the Tacoma location, I was told by the person who was with me to see how much they cost (if I remember correctly). When I went up to the ice cream machine, I saw pictures of the other characters (Helen, Munch and Pasqually) and wondered if they were side characters or something. We didn't have a dollar so I think I was just a bit disappointed. 6. When I first volunteered at CEC after seeing Munch's 2000 design on the ice cream machine, I expected his voice to sound different (kinda like a kid's or something). Then after the song Safe and Sound, it turned out I was wrong about that. Especially when I started watching videos on YT after getting my tablet his voices never really sounded anything like a kid. 7. I honestly didn't know what Munch was when I first volunteered at CEC. It wasn't until I found SP.com that I found out. One time when I was looking around on Google Images and I found this stage which was round at the front, had all the characters on it, and had 3 screens at the top of the stage: one in the middle, one more on the left and one more on the right. I saw it was on DeviantArt and when I clicked it I saw on the comments that someone called him a hippo, mistaking him for one. 8. When I would watch the CEC animatronic videos on YouTube before I got into the fandom (back when I felt I was too old for CEC), I thought Munch was supposed to be a dinosaur due to the yellow nostrils on the 2-Stage animatronic. 9. The only reason I'd watch CEC animatronic videos on YouTube before getting into the fandom was because they (the animatronics) were creepy to me. I found a CEC animatronic video after watching the video where this guy was walking around the abandoned Wizard of Oz amusement park(?). The video was titled something like, Creepy Animatronics at Chuck E. Cheese (or something like that). 10. During my first (failed) picture with Chuck E. I took (and have taken so far) on May 12, Chuck E. and I ended up bumping heads. 11. When I volunteered at Chuck E. Cheese's for the first time, Munch was the first to grow on me. Apparently mentioning rewarding himself “with some pizza” made me think, “He likes pizza too?” After looking him up on showbizpizza.com, I started liking him a little more. Within a month or so, I developed a crush on Munch and kept it back because I didn't know if Munch was that kind of monster to fall in love. Once I found out he had that romantic side, I let myself fall for him. I didn't start liking the other characters until about two or so months later. 12. When I was given tokens after volunteering at CEC because my teachers forgot to pick me up my first school year, after I got some tickets and went up to the Ticket Muncher, I forgot how the machine worked, and fortunately I got my answer when a kid's mother asked them if they wanted to use the Ticket Muncher (or something like that) and they did. Then I started using one that was available. 13. About the thing on DeviantArt where someone mistook Munch for a hippo, I was thinking, “He's a monster!” despite not knowing his species when I first started volunteering. 14. Before I got into the fandom, when I watched Pizzacam's My Pasqually videos, I originally thought he worked at a CEC, probably due to one of his videos I saw back then where he had his Pasqually programmed to hit the drums when he pressed a button, and I thought that's how the Pasqually animatronics worked, was people were in a room and controlling the animatronics! Confession #5: Once as a very little kid (possibly a baby) I was curious in exploring the location that I had went into the kitchen and into the Chuck E room. I walked into the room exactly as Chuck E was.. Er.. "Waking Up" I was fascinated with mascot's and lost my fear of Chuck E ever since. (to my surprise, no cast member found me until my mom reported me lost inside the store)

I once peaked into the (open door) computer room at PTT and the guy working around it at the time was nice enough to show me inside the room and the basics of how it worked and stuff. I was like 6 at the time and thought it was so cool!
