Despite being in mostly a foreign language, this is something CEC recently uploaded to YouTube featuring footage of the half bodied Chuck E. Cheese animatronic:

Honestly I can see both sides,
However personally I do not like the video.
I think it is disrespectful to cut something that has historical value in "half"

But they did this before it had any historical value.

I know but once he was put out to public, he was split in half. Also to mention is that they changed his cosmetics too.

I can see why this was done, the museum that he was sent to showcased technological wonders. So why not show how he worked?

Like I said, I can see both sides but, eh, idk, having the endoskeleton encased is what gives it a good vibe. Anything else reminds me of the terminator or idk, just a machine (which I am not delusional I'm just sayin' XD)

I'm sure a calculator split would be interesting too or any other robotic/mechanistic contraption.

IDK....
But, it sucks to see something, that would I guess you could say later, becoming a historical value.

Same feeling I get when I think of all those He-Man figures if I would have just KEPT THEM IN THE PACKAGE, I wouldn't have to work today X(

He's in a storage space where museum employees are trying to fix him. Bad idea in my opinion.

Wait a minute, why a bad idea? They're hoping to restore a piece of history.

Anyway, that video does show that PTT gave him his own unique showtape with new recordings with John.
Here's something interesting that I found in the article:
His Character Mechanim model is #PTT 000-0200-20,
the Control Center's model is #PTT 000-0169-80,
and his Cosmetic Design model is #000-0075-20.
Also it says that the Cyberamis were programed using a DEC PDP 11/23 and they used TEAC X-7 Mark II tapedecks.
Also it reveled some key people who worked on this (names with ? mean that I couldn't read them that well).
Project Coordinator:
Tine Ahmann?

Mechinism:
Mike Twigg?
Doug Wolf

Electrical:
Poin Mokrin?

Recording Engineer:
James Bernes?

Animation:
Randy Nelson
Jell Risk?

Design, Illustraitions
Karen Mitcheil
Jellrey B Severn?

Voice:
John Widelock

Cosmetic Design:
Jul Kamen
Tine Ahmann?
Not to mention it seem to have got a vest change at some point.
Red Vest: Before it was Cut-in-Half.
Checkerd Vest: After it was Cut-in-Half.
So if it is still aroud, we now know that there is another Checkered Vest still around... or at least half of one.

Because the employees...likely have no idea what they're doing. Hopefully that changes though.
