For those who like to hear the quarterly conference calls to investors...

https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/cec-entertainment-inc-to-announce-third-quarter-2017-financial-results-and-host-conference-call-300549286.html

Sometimes they have interesting information about future plans.

Also, Apollo is considering buying Qdoba Mexican Eats.

They must've either had second thoughts or it's happening at some point down the line. I'm not sure which.

Just listened to the call, here's a few interesting things I noted.

- PlayPass is now installed at all company-owned stores.
- They have recently signed a deal for a franchise(s) in India.
- There is a plan for a new loyalty program called "Upper-Crust" that will reward customers based on how often they visit.
- An official app is scheduled to be launched during Q1 of 2018.
- The response for the CEC 2.0 locations has been great.
- New commercials that will test new marketing strategies will be put on-air during Q1 2018.

Thank you, you just saved me the trouble of making these notes myself. :)
I bet you guys will be excited about the loyalty App. It sounds like you can earn discounts on food and games (I guess).

I'm afraid this will be bad news to just about everyone on here who are animatronic fans.

(even though I'm not too bothered by it)

even if there is a good response to cec 2.0 there chould be something that happens that puts a stop to a mass remodel for cec 2.0 they wanted all the stages gone for studio c and it never happened and remodeling the entire store must be more expensive than installing a new show and removing the old one

I'm not surprised that guests like the CEC 2.0 remodels- they really do look nice and like I've been trying to tell you guys, the guests by and large do not care about the animatronics (or the video for that matter). I love the 2.0 remodels, personally. Kids seem to love the dance floor for the live shows.

This will probably go the same way as Studio C. I remember a similar situation happening in the early 2000's where we were scared of all CEC's getting Phase 4 and removing the stage for Studio C. But as you can see, we still have existing stages because many stores didn't have money for the remodel and/or Studio C. (Others, like Tampa, chose to keep their stages during the remodel) If stores couldn't afford Studio C, you think they'll be able to afford this whole remodel and the dance floors? That's just what I'm thinking because in the 2000's I was scared of my local CEC's getting rid of their stages(and my main store did) but in my state, only 2 stores got rid of their stages. I just think this will fail like Studio C.

CEC is going to be pushing hard for these remodels because a lot of the stores haven't been touched in 15+ years. If a store can't afford to remodel they might be forced to close. I wouldn't be surprised to see many stores close in the next couple of years. You can't keep the store at Phase 3 (or 4) forever. Eventually a store has to remodel to keep in line with what the company wants the store to be.

cec has not closed a mass amount of stores at one time since ptt went bankrupt even when the financial crash of 2008 happened they did not close more than 50 stores at once

The company is now under new management. What I'm trying to say is that a lot of the unprofitable stores are likely to close because the company is trying to rebmodel and revitalize the brand.

A phase 3 store that hasn't really been touched since 1997 just looks so tired and old in 2017 compared to what they're going for with the CEC 2.0 concept. Combine that with old, barely functioning animatronics and it just leaves a bad impression on guests.

I'm just saying don't be surprised to see stores close in the next couple years. I'm sure new stores will open too though.

That's why I'm fine with the bad stages going because honestly I'm just tired of people saying the animatronics are creepy when they're really just not repaired. I just don't want the good stages going. Some of the stores that got 2.0 had good working stages. And I saw some reviews online saying, "the remodel is good but where are the animatronics" or "miss the animatronics". Which is why I want the stages included in the remodel. But they probably won't do that.

I got a feeling that our store might have a Phase 5 remodel instead of 2.0. Our store hasn't been remodeled for a decade.

At this point, I don't really care for complaining about the removal. I moreso dislike Tom Leverton for making poor decisions recently (not directly referring to show removal.) Protests are clearly ineffective. If they decided modernizing is the way to go, then I don't have to go to Chuck E. Cheese to watch a show unless it's for a good pizza (which I must say I like at Chuck E. Cheese.). I can see shows in other places beside Chuck E. Cheese anyway. The only saddening part for me is gonna be that I can't experience Chuck E. Cheese bots in a Chuck E. Cheese environment (which is a very nice and open environment at that... :( )
