I think we're going to see a lot of remodels and also a lot of store closings in the next 5 years. Stores will either be remodeled to at least Phase 5 (and probably the full 2.0) or otherwise closed. Within the next 5 years they will remodel and update all of the stores that are still stuck at Phase 3 (especially) and Phase 4. As they do this, they will pull out whatever animatronic show happens to be there and replace it with the Live Dance Floor (sorry guys, I know you don't like that but that's what I see happening). The animatronic stages will become more and more scarce over the next few years as they get phased out. I also think they'll encourage stores to buy the newly redesigned walkarounds of the other four characters and do more Live and Birthday shows with all of the characters present to really liven up the Live shows! That should be really fun. Underperforming and smaller stores will close to cut back on expenses, and that money will be funneled into remodeling profitable stores, and opening new locations in better areas. This is all just an educated guess on my part... I really think CEC 2.0 is going to be the future and within 5 or 6 years it's going to be what almost all of us see when we walk into our local CEC. |

That means nothing good will come to Arizona. There is no need for CEC in a state that is already filled with PPP. Phoenix is still doing better than the PPPs near it though. Edited by CECArizona, Nov 12 2017, 03:41 PM.

As unfortunate as it is, I can see it as possible, too. How expensive do you think removing the animatronics and placing the dance floor will cost, though? I fear a lot of stores might be forced to close because remodeling is just too expensive and they won't be able to recoup their losses. I also wonder what will happen to the animatronics. Yeah, they're going to go away, but if the company is completely doing away with them...what will happen? Storing them for no purpose isn't logical and just eats up money. Will they be sold off when stores inevitably close, like fridges and stoves and other stuff that wind up for public auction when the company doesn't want them or no nearby restaurants need them? Again, all hypothetical. I wasn't here for the Studio C mass conversion, so I have no frame of reference on how big it will be or even how far the company may go with this. |

The animatronics will all eventually be trashed. Most of them are 20+ years old at this point (and the Studio C's are getting up there in age too). |

It's gonna be a few years 'til they are "trashed". And most of them go back to corporate or are recycled, not trashed. Silver Spring's Munch went to Glen Burnie. Edited by Big Chuck, Nov 12 2017, 06:17 PM.

Actually, I personally wouldn't be so quick to jump to the conclusion of CEC 2.0 passing. I've heard a lot of techs have been complaining about the maintenance issues of the Live Stage. Apparently the lights go out often, the sensors keep glitching out, and sometimes the whole dance floor freezes up. I imagine that it's a pain to repair several times a week and corporate will probably look into an alternate or a way to prevent it from happening so often before they go on with the new concept if they choose to. |

Well yes, now they're recycled to other stores, but at some point they will stop doing that as fewer stores have or need the animatronics. I mean you can really only do so much with 25+ year old animatronics that have been run into the ground and (mostly) not maintained. |

I'm not surprised. They're probably more useful as parts instead of being sent out as new installs at this point. Also any new stores opening wouldn't' get a new Studio C install anyway at this point. It would probably be a Live Dance Floor stage or maybe a Cicles Of Light. This is all true. 2.0 is doing well according to the Conference call. If a store is too small and can't remodel, it will probably close and relocate within the same area if it's in a highly populated/performing area. The other thing is that stages are being trashed instead of sent back already. San Antonio, Military and Springfield, MA have trashed their stages. And it wasn't an accident, Corporate TOLD them to throw them away. We've lost the fight to save our shows, all we can do now is attempt to get the company to allow removed stages to be given to fans. It's that or nothing. Edited by CEC Master, Nov 12 2017, 08:25 PM.

Well, wasn't Burlington just moved? If stages are being sent back, shouldn't Burlington have been junked? And look at Guatemala, who made their old 3 stage into a display piece! I don't think shows will be junked IMMEDIATELY. I think if the show is in good shape, it gets sent to Corp, but then sent out for new stages. Bad shape= dumpster. |

I do know that Burlington's show was saved only to replace Springfield's show so it could be destroyed. Military's show was in excellent condition. And Guatemala locations are franchises, so they can do whatever they want. |

Yes, Studio C bots are always sent back. This is confirmed as Middletown, NY's bot was sent back last month. However, all of the Beta's props like the Studio C signs and Applause and On The Air signs were all tossed, though I do know they were saved by an unidentified fan. It's just a shame they destroy "Band" bots. We need to do something about it. |

They destroy them for legal reasons- so that nobody else can grab Jasper and put a Jasper in their non-CEC family fun center. |

Looks like CEC WILL begin speed up show removal process. Possibly phase out Retro Pizza Zone and Phase 5. They might phase out their own fandom as well and possibly close all New England stores too. CEC fans will keep the bots the way they are. And possibly make the stupid dance floor the only option and Corp will try to buy out all franchises and possibly phase out franchising opportunities and Phase out Showtapes and replace normal songs with a LIVE show. Future shows will only be intermissions.l and that's it. And just change time to time. Phase 5 will be refered as UNREMODELED and we will stop going to CEC and CEC might just make a new policy that fans aren't allowed inside and you have to be a certain age to even enter the 1st set of doors. They might make a security company to prevent is from going an inch onto the property. Our version of CEC WILL live on as a fan's dream. Probably the reason why the kids are coming up the shows because they'll miss them once they are gone. I think Warwick, Attleboro, Newington NH, Hicksville NY, and All OR locations could close within the next 10 years. North Dartmouth, Worcester, Poughkeepsie, Danvers, Natick, and Chino might send their bots to possibly 3-Stage locations for new 2.5 Stages. CEC is also planning to make themselves go out of business and merge into PPP. CEC ignores backlashes and just uses them as good things. This forum might shut down within the next 20 years but for now, it lives on. * us RI and AZ might go CECless Edited by RPCEC, Nov 13 2017, 01:39 PM.

Why? RPZ isn't their property, so CEC CAN'T "phase us out". They can get upset and shut us down, but they can't phase us out. As for Phase 5, it's got Rockstar Chuck,it moves away from the animatronics depending on the store, and it's the closest thing to 2.0 for stores that can't afford to remodel |

Some Phase 5 stores keep their shows, take Parma, Allen, Pittsburgh, San Jose Kooser, and May's Landing for an example. Edited by RPCEC, Nov 13 2017, 05:33 PM.
