Awesome!!! If more material from previous Summer shows return, this could be one of the best shows in recent time! That, and the April show would certainly lead 2018 on the right track! |

First of all, Munch and Helen are singing backup so there is no need in this song. The next thing is that the entertainment department can't use anything older than summer 2014 or the September 2014 covers. Currently, they have no plans on using any material older than 2016 but all live shows pre-summer 2014 have been dropped from the list. It's A Date hasn't been used since 2016 and will never be used again. There is still a possibility with one of the Summer 2013 songs returning but corp would have to use different footage as we have animatronics in the US and Canada. 80% of international stores are botless COLs. |

Actually, It's A Date hasn't been used since Show 7, 2017, which also featured Dream Big, Trio, and EBEG, which all featured the new Helen. |

Only Chuck's vocals are new. And this version's actually about five years old as it was used for the Summer 2013 show which was pretty much the same show as Summer 2012 but with Jaret instead of Duncan. |

Oops actually this isn't quite right. Some of it was re-recorded back in 2012. |

I wasn't really looking for the 2013 version to reemerge, I was just hoping to see it again, meaning remaking the song with the current VAs and new footage (Given what Paul said, claiming new vocals have been dubbed). I don't see what's the problem with remaking older material, it'd save Dept. 18 time by not needing to write or compose anything new. But, if their agenda focuses on creating entirely new originals, so be it.

This is surely the land of confusion.

Isn't this song a parody of a Beach Boys song? Parodies are protected under US law thanks to Fair Use. |

Yeah, In My Pool is a parody. Parodies are definitely protected under US Fair Use, however I feel as though the exclusion of parodies is more of a personal decision on Dept. 18's behalf. The current show style is represented by entirely original material, and I feel as though Dept. 18 wouldn't want to incorporate parodies into their current show format, since they'd cheapen the shows. Parodies perfectly fit in with the classic format used from 1999-2014, and even in the Acts era, if they wanted to use them. The band was actually putting on a show, with a variety of different songs from originals, to covers, and to parodies. The current show format is just a YouTube playlist, but just look at the originals. The production quality in the footage was severely amped up, and the songs are nothing like they were a measly five years ago. While parodies were great back in the show's heyday, parodies in general are just cheap ways to be relatable to a specific audience. I feel as though Dept. 18 would just view parodies as a cheap contrast to using their superior original content. Do I personally think that? I don't know, parodies were amazing back in the Blaido era, but they were really mixed around around 2005-2012. |
