I thought this topic deserved its own thread. I just heard on the 1st Quarter conference call that 25 locations will be remodeled in between now and the first quarter of 2019. They didn't mention where the locations would be but I believe they will be "spread out" in different markets. Stores will be staying open during the remodeling process. So, you just might find your local CEC changing sometime in the next year.

the high volume stores are probably the most likely to be the 25 stores that are remodeled most likely around major cites like NYC LA Chicago SF (San Bruno) Boston(Natick) etc Edited by Cyberhawk, May 9 2018, 02:33 PM.

Yeah, but I think they're going to test the remodels in different markets to get an idea of how well they'll do in different demographics. |

Well, I guess that's good for the company to have a set, organized plan, rather than just sporadically remodeling their locations. There are a few locations that come to mind when it comes to remodeling, not sure if they'll focus on their better stores, or if they'll focus on any given store that's outdated like they used to. Also, did they say what the stores will be remodeled into? Is it Phase 5 or 2.0, because this could essentially play a key factor in shaping the company's future. |

They implied 2.0 because they mentioned the 25 stores in the context of the 7 that have already been remodeled to 2.0. I don't think they would remodel any more stores to Phase 5 at this point. I'm pretty sure that any future remodels will be some form of 2.0. |

Very likely, unless 2.0 flops. Then we'd probably see some other unofficial Phase 6 (With a different name) |

Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the united states but we have no high volume stores due to peter piper. Which is also a reason why we might never get 2.0. Again I sound stupid saying this but all of my stores (maybe not chandler) have an estimated 5 years left. Mesa is already out of the question because they probably will close soon and relocation is unknown. Also, Phoenix could be closing in the next 3-4 years. Could be sooner if they end up losing buisness faster. I have a feeling that Yuma could make it to 2.0 though. Were any closings announced? Edited by CECArizona, May 9 2018, 07:24 PM.

Even if Huntsville doesn’t get 2.0 if they remodel a store with a col they chould send the removed col show it to a 3 stage like Huntsville Edited by Cyberhawk, May 9 2018, 09:31 PM.

This is surely the land of confusion.

Also why remove a stage that is still being cared for and loved? |

Because they take up room, and take time and cost money to run and maintain. The fact that they decided to go forward with 25 more remodels tells me that the first 7 must have been profitable and that it's more likely that we'll see another "phase" of remodels in 2019 with maybe even more than 25 stores being remodeled then. |

the rockafire shows that cec still has where made in early 80s the metal will rot to a point where the bots cant run anymore every single 3 stage will start to decay if not now soon if you study the rockfaire the only shows that still use the bots and run a almost perfect level are cei show and department 18 3 stage bots because they dont run everyday Edited by Cyberhawk, May 9 2018, 11:58 PM.

Ok...so I'm gonna clear some stuff up. Yes 25 stores are being remodeled. Will they be 2.0 remodels? Yes. But they won't be quite as elaborate as the ones seen in San Antonio. Many won't get a full blown exterior remodel, or the open kitchen concepts. To those of you who thought 2.0 failed. You were VERY wrong. All 7 stores that were remodeled last year have seen very solid profits since the remodels. You Huntsville fans don't need to worry. It's not on the list. I will give you guys three stores that are on the list: Parma, Buford, and San Bruno. Edited by Cheezbat, May 10 2018, 12:42 AM.

I'd be for the remodels if it didn't include the removal of animatronics. I guess there won't be a compromise to that though. |

At this point I just don't care about the animatronics being there or not (yes I know I'm in the minority) and I think the colors and design of the interior remodels look fantastic and very fresh. |

I heard Las Vegas (Serene) and Portland are supposed to be getting 2.0, which makes sense, they are high volume stores and make lots of money. |
