I thought this topic deserved its own thread. I just heard on the 1st Quarter conference call that 25 locations will be remodeled in between now and the first quarter of 2019. They didn't mention where the locations would be but I believe they will be "spread out" in different markets. Stores will be staying open during the remodeling process. So, you just might find your local CEC changing sometime in the next year.

Here's soem stores confirmed for 2.0: Newark CA Pensacola FL Buford GA Chicago IL - Fullerton Lake Charles LA North Olmstead OH Parma OH Portland OR Closures: Wilmington NC (1984) (I tink it will close because it's too old under Corporate's standards as it will collapse {The store's structure will rust faster as it's a coastal location}, they probably need shut it down it by around 2022) Houston Weyslean TX (1984) (Torchys is set to replace it) Coastal stores lie Houston Weyslean and Wilmington will close first. |

I believe it was confirmed that Huntsville won't be getting 2.0 (at least not this year). |

I heard from someone that Las Vegas (Eastern) will be getting 2.0 but after looking more into it, I'm sorta having my doubts. Yes it is a high volume store that generates a decent amount of profits, but the store isn't a standalone building, it's part of a series of other buildings in a plaza (located next to a 99Cent Store, Goodwill, Matress Firm, etc.) and all of the buildings share the same exterior structures, paint jobs etc and I'd be shocked if the landlord ordered 2.0 because the entire plaza has a uniformed look and adding a new lime green structuring would throw off that balance. I'm not saying that stores in plazas can't get 2.0 by any means, however if Eastern does get it, I'm sure it won't be a huge structural remodel, probably just changing out the logo and doing interior work which I'm sure the landlord wouldn't care much for since it's inside of the building and won't throw off any balance. 100% speculation, no one will know for sure if they are remodeling until someone calls and asks.

Earlier in this thread or somewhere it says that these new remodels will lack features like the new exterior and open kitchen. |

This is correct. Not all 2.0 stores will get remodeled outside, and most won't even get the open kitchen concept. They're already scaling back on the extent of what they do. Remodels are expensive. Oh, and no 2.0 for Huntsville...at least not in 2018. |

I thought that they weren't going to remove anymore bots... That's what I heard. So far I've only read the first page of this and I swear if they don't stick to the “We don't plan on getting rid of the animatronics anytime soon” thing (I read it in the comments of a video someone made of an MMBB farewell tour this year which was actually an April Fools joke) I'm probably gonna be kinda ticked. 'Cause someone mentioned on the comments of the video that they mentioned on their blog (apparently called “The Mouse Pad”) that the animatronics weren't going anywhere anytime soon... So hopefully they don't trash the animatronics and just give them to stages that have animatronics that are in a bad state of disrepair or something. Or they could just sell them off to fans. I mean, if they were to sell/give the animatronics to fans maybe the fans who get them would be dedicated to fixing the animatronic(s) they get and getting it/them back in working condition! Like I read on this forum somewhere, why they wouldn't be able to fix the animatronics is because parts are scarce, and some aren't made anymore. But if they aren't made anymore maybe someone who has the animatronic can call the manufacturer and see if they could make an extra part to replace the broken part? Unless the character you're getting the part for has to be out of copyright and no longer copyrighted by the company. I forget what Jared said on his channel when he was talking about his animatronic of The King. You guys should know what I'm talking about. It's late and I'm a bit tired... So I wasn't sure if I should mention the channel name. But judging on how The King is out of copyright and they no longer hold the rights to the character it should be okay... Right? But right now I'm going to bed. It's 2:00 in the morning and I have to be up by 9:00 AM. ^-^'

If they cut back on the cost of the remodels (no exterior remodel, or a cheaper version of the exterior remodel, and no open kitchen, and other small cut backs) that could let them excelerate the remodeling process and be more cost-effective doing it. Honestly, even new floors, a new paint job inside, and the dance floor along with the new seating could make a big difference in how the stores look. |

If it costed 700 thousand dollars to remodel a store to Phase 4 in 2006, imagine how much more it costs to remodel a store to 2.0. It’s probably the same price as opening a new store up. Edited by CECArizona, Jun 20 2018, 05:34 PM.

The franchises that have existing stages can't even repair them lol. The parts department doesn't bother stocking existing stage parts. 75% of the 3-Stage population is in bad condition and 50% of the cyberamic population is in bad condition. These shows are very old and are worn down. Cyberamics started production in 1979 almost 40 years ago. Huntington Beach still has the same show lol. No one wants 40-year-old animatronics because the mechanics have worn down so much. 3-Stages aren't much older and have even more wear due to the complexity of movements. |
