25 more stores will be remodeled in 2018
Topic Started: May 9 2018, 02:03 PM (9,937 Views)

I thought this topic deserved its own thread.

I just heard on the 1st Quarter conference call that 25 locations will be remodeled in between now and the first quarter of 2019. They didn't mention where the locations would be but I believe they will be "spread out" in different markets.

Stores will be staying open during the remodeling process.

So, you just might find your local CEC changing sometime in the next year. :)

I thought that they weren't going to remove anymore bots... That's what I heard. So far I've only read the first page of this and I swear if they don't stick to the “We don't plan on getting rid of the animatronics anytime soon” thing (I read it in the comments of a video someone made of an MMBB farewell tour this year which was actually an April Fools joke) I'm probably gonna be kinda ticked. -_- 'Cause someone mentioned on the comments of the video that they mentioned on their blog (apparently called “The Mouse Pad”) that the animatronics weren't going anywhere anytime soon... :-/ So hopefully they don't trash the animatronics and just give them to stages that have animatronics that are in a bad state of disrepair or something. :( Or they could just sell them off to fans. I mean, if they were to sell/give the animatronics to fans maybe the fans who get them would be dedicated to fixing the animatronic(s) they get and getting it/them back in working condition! :) Like I read on this forum somewhere, why they wouldn't be able to fix the animatronics is because parts are scarce, and some aren't made anymore. But if they aren't made anymore maybe someone who has the animatronic can call the manufacturer and see if they could make an extra part to replace the broken part? :ermm: Unless the character you're getting the part for has to be out of copyright and no longer copyrighted by the company. I forget what Jared said on his channel when he was talking about his animatronic of The King. You guys should know what I'm talking about. :cecwink: It's late and I'm a bit tired... So I wasn't sure if I should mention the channel name. But judging on how The King is out of copyright and they no longer hold the rights to the character it should be okay... Right? :munch2: But right now I'm going to bed. It's 2:00 in the morning and I have to be up by 9:00 AM. ^-^'
All existing stages will be gone in three years. Studio C is unknown.
What source are you getting this info from to do this they whould have to force a new stage on a franchise with a existing stage
The franchises that have existing stages can't even repair them lol. The parts department doesn't bother stocking existing stage parts. 75% of the 3-Stage population is in bad condition and 50% of the cyberamic population is in bad condition. These shows are very old and are worn down. Cyberamics started production in 1979 almost 40 years ago. Huntington Beach still has the same show lol. No one wants 40-year-old animatronics because the mechanics have worn down so much. 3-Stages aren't much older and have even more wear due to the complexity of movements.
These percentages are definitely incorrect. You're telling me that there are about 88 CEC-Stages and 38 3-Stages that are in disrepair or poorly maintained and you're also telling me that there are only about 88 CEC-Stages and 12 3-Stages that are kept up with and in good condition. Please stop giving people false information

The Castleton Indiana CEC was flooded last night confirmed by JalenCEC on Instagram and it pretty much destroyed everything, so they could be getting 2.0.

Closures:
Wilmington NC (1984) (I tink it will close because it's too old under Corporate's standards as it will collapse {The store's structure will rust faster as it's a coastal location}, they probably need shut it down it by around 2022)

Coastal stores like Wilmington will close first.
Who told you that Wilmington is closing?
Corporate probany wants the store GONE in general because of competition nearby and it's an old building. All it will be is an empty building waiting to be knocked down by a wrecking ball for something new. Corp thinks opening a CEC in Wilmington was a mistake and to fix the mistake, it needs to close like Myrtle Beach did in 1999. The only one that can stay open is Wilmington DE.

they'll probably grab mechinical parts from one of the other local 3-Stages when those ones get removed. Their current cosmetics give their show the magic it has.

Corporate is focusing on closing older stores. Stores like Wilmington will close becuase it opened ion 1984 (before 1991). Wilmington IS AN OLDER LOCATION. The only former PTTs and SPPs will be the ones with Average and higher celings.

I defentily name stores that aren't capible of getting 2.0:

Greenville SC - Their celing is WAY TOO LOW for a Dance Floor. Their Studio C Alpha is literally close to the ground. Opened in 1984 as a SPP.

Jonesboro GA - This store was a former Road Stage location and because the location it's in, this CEC has celings so low that it would be impossible to fit a Dance Floor in there so they would more likely to move elsewhere. It's a pretty good Phase 3 store with working curtains.

Charlotte Albemarle Rd - A weird looking store, their Road Stage isso low to the ground, that it would be forced to relocate.

Most Older locations (1990 or Earlier) - These CECs are the oldest of the bunch (Wilmington NC, Springfield MA, Sheffield AL, and Houston Weyslan) , only a few will get 2.0 because most will start to collapse into rubble within the next few years.

Rockford IL - Rockford may be a former SPP because because of their Rocker Stage, theiy woild look ugly as a 2.0, most would be saddened if it happened. Also, their manager HATES 2.0 in general because it takes away the show.

Madison TN - This store may be unique, but it's layout would be too complicated to fit a Dance Floor, the store is very small too. They would be forced to relocate or close as well.

Charlotte NC Pineville - Another former SPP, this store would be too old for a remodel, it would close or merge with Albemarle Rd downtown.

Some older stores will get 2.0 if the building is stable or if the shopping center is still busy. Most are closing because their shopping center is dying or they are in a bad spot. Lots of these older stores are stand-alone and weren't placed in the best spots. It might of been fine in the 80's but not anymore.

some of the 90s locations are in shopping plazas that are almost empty Worcester ma had the anchor of the plaza pull out and has had no one fill the anchor or the former blockbuster http://bit.ly/2Isvx7Z

Corporate can pick which stores to close. They'll pick stores to close. Don't be afraid that theyll pick Wilmington, Pheniox, and Weyslean first.

Green Bay will close because they don't want to remodel. Goodbye Green Bay. and hello Packers parking.

I think you're getting way too worked up. Almost nothing you have said in your last few posts are correct...AT ALL. Yes, some stores will close, some will get 2.0, and others will get relocated...but so much of your information is wrong. Please stop spreading rumors. You get everybody all worked up and upset for no reason.

Please just enjoy the shows and when the time comes for change and we know it to be factual, then we can be sad.

Some of you have a real problem dealing with change. Stores are not going to be Phase 3 with a 2-stage or 3-stage forever and ever just like they were not Phase 1 with balcony stages, or ShowBiz Pizza Places forever.

In the restaurant business brands and presentations change and evolve over time. It's just the way it is.

I know a lot of you grew up with Phase 3 and 4 and the animatronics, and don't want them to go away, but try to enjoy the new things too so you can still enjoy going to CEC.

Yeah.. I only say that because he keeps posting his own speculation as if it was fact and that can get very confusing.
