“Okay... Clothing?” Chuck asked, reading off a checklist he made of stuff they'd need for the trip they were going on. “Check!” Jasper, Helen and Pasqually all said while smiling. “Care supplies?” “Check!” “Food?” “Check!” Munch said, pushing a heavy wheelbarrow full of food out from the kitchen, April in the front pulling it so Munch wouldn't have trouble pushing it since it was so heavy, and the wheelbarrow was a big, plastic one too. “Uh, Munch?” Chuck asked, giving Munch a confused look, “Where did you get that?” “From the kitchen, why?” Munch asked, tilting his head to the side a bit. “No I mean the wheelbarrow.” Chuck explained to him, the rest of his band - besides April - giving Munch a confused look. “Oh, this!” Munch said with a giggle towards his own misunderstanding, “Well, I found it outside.” He then decided to add just in case his friends wondered anything about the cleanliness, “And don't worry, it looked clean on the inside.” “Uh, Munch? We have a shop that sells wheelbarrows next door, remember?” Chuck then asked him, “And besides, how did you get that in-” He then interrupted himself before shaking his head, not even wanting to know how they got a wheelbarrow into the restaurant in the first place, saying, “Never mind...” He already knew the answer, and it was that the wheelbarrow wasn't wide enough to not fit through one of the front doors. “Oh, and I saw it under a sign that said 'Donate to Charity', so I thought it'd be useful for us when we go on trips where we have to bring lots of food.” Munch said with a smile. April gave him a shocked look as Chuck just facepalmed. “You didn't tell me you got this from there!” April then told him, her shocked look still on her face even after she spoke. “Munch, that's not what charity means!” Chuck then said, looking worried now. “Charity is for people - or certain places - who need something like that!” He then explained, pointing to the wheelbarrow as he mentioned it, “We don't need that” — he pointed to the wheelbarrow again — “for our food supply! We already have containers and coolers for that!” “Oh...” Munch said, looking down at the wheelbarrow. “Well I can return it.” He then said, looking back up at Chuck. “Yeah, and we have to be quick Munch.” April said, looking back at him, “Because I think some of the lights were on when I went by the glass windows.” “But where do we put all this food!?” Munch asked, gesturing to the huge amount of food that was in the wheelbarrow. “Just...dump it out-” “Thanks Chuck E.” Munch said quickly before dumping the stuff out on the floor - April quickly moving out of the way before he did - and getting out of the restaurant with it as quickly as possible, April holding the door open for him. Once Munch exited the restaurant April walked back to Chuck E. “I was going to tell him to dump it out in a container or something but...this works I guess.” Chuck then said as he, Jasper, Helen and Pasqually started picking the food up off the floor, April beginning to help as well. “At least I cleaned the floors and everything last night.” Pasqually said with a shrug, “Plus as long as the food is in its packaging it shouldn't be too big a deal.” “Well at least our snacks are in their packaging inside the boxes.” April said with a smile as she happened to pick up a few boxes of their favorite snacks. As Jasper and the others gave her a look she said, “What?” “Nothin'.” Jasper said with a shake of his head - the others shaking their heads as well - before picking up the last of the food that was dumped on the floor. After they picked it all up, they packed it all in a few large containers as Munch finally came up to them, panting as he leaned against a wall. “Did you make it in time?” April asked, looking up at him. Munch just nodded, still panting as he tried to catch his breath. “They didn't notice?” Chuck then asked to make sure he wouldn't be in any trouble with the store owner. Munch shook his head in reply before leaning his back against the wall and letting himself slide down until he was sitting on the floor, still panting. To be continued...

After everyone got on the road, Chuck decided he'd drive since he didn't trust Munch accidentally driving into anything like he did last time. “But Chuck E., I won't make that mistake next time!” Munch said, looking at Chuck. Chuck E. just sighed. “Munch, like I said earlier, you drove the RV into a tree.” He said, explaining to Munch what had happened, “Plus you almost gave April a heart attack 'cause she was in the front with you.” “Well I didn't actually almost get a heart attack.” April said as everyone - except Munch - gave her a look for the second time. “What? I said I almost had a heart attack, but it was a metaphor!” “Yeah, for someone's bad driving.” Jasper muttered with a roll of his eyes, April shooting him a glare. “Wait, how did Munch almost drive us into that tree?” Pasqually then asked, looking at everyone. ~Flashback~ “Munch, look out!!” Chuck shouted, pointing ahead at the road to a bird that happened to be gliding by, about to land. Munch, who was looking at the restaurants they were passing by, quickly looked ahead. “Uh oh...” He muttered before gripping the wheel tightly with both hands and turning the wheel with a jerk, the RV immediately swerving to the right which caused the weight of the RV to shift to the left as well. As a result, Munch almost lost control of the RV before noticing a tree. Instead of turning the wheel to get the RV to turn away, Munch covered his eyes in fear for his and his friends' lives, slamming on the brakes and causing the RV to skid to a stop. The traction on the tires and the dirt underneath, though, caused the tires to continue moving forward. “Munch...!” April shouted before quickly reaching over and grabbing hold of the wheel, quickly turning it to the left so they'd be safe before the RV came to a complete stop. “That almost gave me a heart attack...” April breathed, now sitting back in her seat as she took a deep breath to calm herself, Munch slowly uncovering his eyes to see that the tree was no longer in front of them. Still recovering from what had happened, he looked back at his band and asked, “Is everyone okay?” His band - who looked like their lives had just flashed before their eyes - just nodded in reply, the look of fear still on their faces. “Well at least we saved that cat!” Munch said with a smile, facing forward again as he let himself sink back into the seat, letting out a sigh of relief that everything was okay. Later though, he would be told it was a bird. “At least everyone ended up okay.” Munch said with a shrug, a nervous smile on his face, “And that's all that matters, right?” “Munch, we almost died.” Jasper said, giving him a look as if he were crazy, “Heck, we could've died if April didn't step in and take the wheel!” “Now don't say that, Jasper.” Helen began in Munch's defense, “We may have come close to, well...what could have happened, but we've always managed to survive! Except...it seems Munch is the least fortunate one in our band and these things always seem to happen to him, like his fur catching on fire while we were camping once...” “What about the pogo stick?” Munch asked, pointing to Helen with his index finger. “You weren't quite used to those though.” Helen said, trying to think of other unfortunate things that had happened to Munch. “Uh, how about that treadmill back in the nineties?” April asked, her finger to her chin, “You know, from when he was in the exercise program.” “Yeah that was because he stopped it while on it.” Helen said before dropping the subject. “Anyway, let's just enjoy the ride and not dwell on the past.” She then said with a smile. |
