Posted by: Lei Aug 28 2013, 10:40 PM An arm wrapped around her reminded Lei she wasn't in the village anymore. No, she was quite safe and warm in the Void, with him. She opened her eyes slowly, allowing a small smile to cross her face as she stared at him, thinking about the night before. Lei wanted to talk to him, but he looked so peaceful there, she couldn't bare to disturb him. There would be plenty of time for that later. She wanted to savor waking up next to him. Lei had been alone so long, she could barely remember how it was like to have other people around. She knew there would be some adjusting, but she was willing to put the effort in. The kirin shifted so she was closer to him, resting a hand on his chest. Feeling it move gently up and down as he breathed made Lei be at peace. He had filled up an empty space in her , that had slowly been eating away at her mind. It was probably too early to say that she loved him, but what did time matter to them? They were real people. Yesterday she had been willing to give him everything she could, now Lei realized it wasn't enough. She had to be able to give him more. Naugus' eyes opened, lazily glancing at her. The satisfied smile he gave her made butterflies danced in her stomach, and Lei could feel her face heating up. He was thinking about last night! “Oh, so NOW you're awake. “ She teased, with a mock look of disapproval. “I thought you were going to sleep all day.” Lei couldn't resist pressing her face against his shoulder, mostly to hide the smile that was threatening to break across her face. She could feel him shift his arm, so that his hand was resting on the back of her head. It was a struggle to keep from jumping up and kissing him repeatedly. Didn't they have things to do? ”Well, it is not like I actually slept much during the night...” He replied, signs of amusement playing on his face. Lei couldn't hide her smile another second, and hid her face against him once again to collect herself before looking back up at him. She leaned her face closer, her eyes gleaming with admiration. How was she going to get anything done around him? The moment he spoke she melted! Lei wanted to just grab him and start kissing his face, but once again she resisted. Just because they were in the same room together, didn't give her the right to pounce on him when she pleased. Lei was sure there were things to do as well, although she couldn't think of anything that could possibly more important than this at the moment. I should have more self control then this! I am an adult! Not some silly little girl with a crush! She scolded herself, but Lei knew there was very little she could do about it. It was more than a crush she was dealing with, now. “Alright, I will agree. You earned your rest.” She replied. ((OOC: *retreats to the pillow fort*)) Posted by: Ixis Naugus Aug 31 2013, 03:01 PM He hadn't felt this good in quite a while, he had to admit. She was beautiful, and that look of pure admiration and dedication in her eyes made him smile. How fortunate it had been that he had found her! There were things to do yes, but for now, Naugus just wanted to enjoy this, these long forgotten sensations coursing through his body when their bodies touched. He moved his hands around her so he could shift her little more towards himself, so she was practically laying on top of him, and just cracked a satisfied smile, when he thought just what everything her being here with him made possible. It was clear from her expression, than she would had still wanted to go. "I don't think rest is what you have in mind..." She blinked in surprise and then just her smile widened, burying her face in her chest for a moment, before rising her head up and smirking: "Are you going to tell me you can read minds now?" Before he even had time to answer, she kissed him on his cheek, her fingers caressing his chin and neck. There was really no need for mind reading in here, they both knew what they wanted right now. "Call it an educated guess..." This was very enjoyable, so he just allowed her hands to explore for a moment, feeling the warmth of her body as it pressed against his, moving his fingers to trace over the tattoos on her back. This was apparently enough to instill her into kissing his cheek and chin again, before actually grabbing the back of his head and connecting their lips, hard. What else could he had done in response expect answer to the kiss? Usually Naugus preferred to act instead of react, but this time, in this situation, she could had the reins of the situation for a moment. There were many things he would have to teach her, but for now mending the wounds on her heart, caused by mobians and years of loneliness, was enough. So he just wrapped his arms around her, caressing her hair and skin as they kissed. Oh yes, he was quite enjoying this. Finally after a while she reluctantly broke the kiss, since they had to breathe sooner or later, lowering her head and resting her cheek against his, closing her eyes for a moment. "If we continue on like this, we'll get very little else done." She tilted her head away just enough for them to see each other's faces, and then just smirked at him with a sly smile. He didn't really enjoy being teased with anything, but at least she was willing to stop distracting him from his work, which was admirable. And she was right, he did have things to do. Nonetheless... "True. But..." He already had his arms around her, so it was easy just to almost lazily turn around, moving her with him, so now she was on her back, her long hair sprawled on the sheets around her, and him almost on top of her. If anything, she looked even more marvelous from this angle. He could not resist just gently grabbing her chin, and smiling as he gave his answer to her: "We are in no hurry." In response, she just smiled some more and wrapped her arms around her neck, again with that expression of pure admiration on her face, that made him want to lick his lips and grin. "Whatever am I going to do with you?" He could and answered into that tease with words, but he was quickly becoming bored of them, so instead he just leaned forward, pressing their bodies together and kissed her again, shifting his hand on her stomach, moving his fingers lazily across her belly. There was no more need for words. Posted by: Lei Aug 31 2013, 11:51 PM Lei couldn't pretend to be cross, or manage to tease him anymore. She wanted him to hold her, and loved every moment it. Every time Naugus touched her, reminded her that this was all real, that she finally had someone. The kirin held the back of his head gently with one hand, while caressing his shoulder with the other. How could she argue when she wanted Naugus more than ever? Feeling his fingers moving on her skin, and his tail being entwined with hers, filled her with excitement . She needed him! As Naugus' fingers became more inquisitive, her grip on the back of his head tightened, her nails scraping lightly against his skin. He kept trailing his fingers along Lei's body, making her nothing but impatient. Was he teasing her? Her shoulders heaved in exasperation. "Naugus." She couldn't keep the whine out of her voice. Lei didn't like being teased. If they hadn't been otherwise occupied, she probably would of playfully scolded him. Her tail jerked against his in agitation. If he had any other motive for tormenting her in such away, it was completely lost on Lei. "Yes?" He said, his tone perfectly calm. It didn't help relieve what she was feeling. Hearing his voice just made Lei more impatient. "Naugus, please." Finally, he seemed to take pity on the kirin. Sitting up he moved her legs to make room for himself. He was about to rejoin her, when Naugus froze. Lei tried following his gaze, but he was staring at the wall. Or was it something else, she couldn't see? She didn't like the way he shook his head, and when he cursed, she knew she wasn't going to like what came next. " Terribly sorry my dear, but I have to leave you for a while. You can bath in the next room, the closet over there has some new clothing for you." Naugus said, placing a hand on her cheek and kissing her. Lei couldn't hide the expression of pure shock as she watched him leave, dressing himself with a mere wave of his hand. She waited a moment, letting what had just happened sink in. As realization hit her, Lei rolled over, screaming into the bed sheets. Of all the things that could of happened!? Where did he go? Why!? After all of that teasing her, he just left! Sitting up, Lei forced herself to calm down. She wasn't mad at Naugus. She was mad that he had been pulled away. Obviously, Naugus had something important he had to take care of. If he could have the will to pull himself away to deal with business, Lei could show a little self control. She would prepare herself for the day! Soaking in the hot water, Lei rested her head in her arms on the edge. As her anger, and flustered desire ebbed, fear began to take it's place. It was difficult to take in everything that had happened. The events of the past day had moved fast. The rescue, Naugus, the void, it all seemed chaotic, and like something out of a mad dream. May be that was it, may be she had finally snapped. It could be that at any moment, she would come to her senses, and still be huddled in a corner of that cage. May be she would wake up, and be alone in a cave, hiding from the things. The idea that Naugus didn't exist, and that she really was alone, terrified Lei. She was too disturbed to enjoy her first hot bath in very long time, or admire the architecture of the grand bathroom. It was tempting to just sit there, allowing fear to torment her. This couldn't all be part of a broken mind, could it? Wouldn't this be exactly what she would dream up? A powerful wizard, and a world away from her tormentors? Whatever it was, Lei couldn't stand to be still another moment. Busy, she needed to be busy! Anything to keep those thoughts out of her head. Lei dressed, pausing in front of a mirror, a brush in her hand. The kimono was perfect. Exactly something she would pick out.. or dream about. She shook her head, and began brushing her hair, probably with more enthusiasm than necessary. Lei kept telling herself this was all really happening, but the fear was already gnawing at the back of her mind. Posted by: Ixis Naugus Sep 2 2013, 08:27 PM Naugus walked across the corridor with a frown of annoyance. He had left because the sudden message could have been important, but instead it had been Geoffrey asking for a history lesson. Of course he had indulged him, but it had taken a while. Hopefully Lei had found things to do. If there was something Naugus knew by heart, it was how much more horrible being alone was if you had nothing to distract you. He stepped into the room and saw her sitting in front of the mirror, her back towards him. He was about to say something, but then frowned instead, when he saw her hand shaking, using the comb on her hair with enough force for it to hurt her. What was this now? Had something happened when he was gone? Genuine worry hastened his steps as he walked to her, gently grabbing her shaking hand by wrist, and resting the claw on her opposite shoulder. "Is something the matter?" She had apparently not heard her coming, and to his relief she was more relieved than startled. But her ears drooped slightly at his question, and she just turned her gaze away. "I'm fine..." The meek tone in her voice, and the way how she seemed to hesitate with every word made it very clear that no, she wasn't. What had happened when he had been gone? There should not have been anything in here that could had scared her. She had to still be recovering from her imprisonment, experiences like that did not go away in a day, they left marks on you for a long time. This was also why the notion of forcing or ordering her to talk did not even come to question. All he could do was to rise his pincer to move along her hair, straightening the tangles the comb had made, and then ask once again in a gentle voice: "Tell me." She fidgeted with her sleeves for a moment, clearly hesitant. But then she seemed to finally come to a decision, and then said quickly, staring at herself through the mirror: "I'm.. worried that I've finally gone crazy." She squeezed her hands together to stop them from shaking, curling them up like she was suddenly cold, still just staring at her reflection in the mirror: "I'm scared I'm going to wake up and be alone again." Naugus blinked at those words, at first not even understanding what exactly she had meant, but then his eyes widened as he understood the implication. How horrible! How much suffering had she been through, to become like this? So used to misery that she could not even bring herself to believe it was over when she had been freed from it? There was not much what he could do. If she thought this was a dream, his words could not do much to disprove it. But that did not stop him from trying. He leaned forward and wrapped his arms around her, gently turning her head to the side, so her ear was against his chest, his chin resting on her hair. He could not prove it to her for certain, but he wanted still to assure of this all being real. She would never again have to suffer in the hands of those filthy animals. "This is real. And I am not disappearing anywhere." Posted by: Lei Sep 2 2013, 11:48 PM She held onto Naugus tightly, listening to the sound of his heart beating. All Lei could do was stand there leaning against him with her eyes closed. She felt fragile, and weak but, it was ok because he was there, living, breathing, and real. She didn't need to be afraid, because he was holding her. He would protect her from her own thoughts. Naugus had been gone for only a few moment, and she allowed herself to recede into doubt. Lei couldn't stop herself from feeling guilty. Was it right for her to depend on him so much? He hadn't asked for any of this. "I'm sorry.." Lei said. She hadn't meant to sound so weak, but Naugus just held her. He was there, she could feel his head resting against hers, and hear his heart beating. Pressing herself closer to the unicorn, Lei accepted the overwhelming sense of security he brought to her. She worried that she was going to end up weighing him down, but she also knew there was no way she could leave him. She could never be alone again, but she didn't deserve him. As selfish as it was, nothing could make her leave Naugus. "You don't need to be" He said. But, she did. She had returned his kindness with trouble. Lei felt pained that she had made her own problems his. Naugus had other things to worry about, and didn't need her mess added to it. She should of never allowed herself to think those things. It had been inconsiderate, and she promised herself in the future, she wouldn't allow it to happen again. "And you don't have to be afraid anymore either." Lei stayed quiet. He was too perfect! She couldn't allow herself to act this way anymore, not when he was doing his best to comfort her. She loved him too much for how briefly they had been together, but Lei couldn't force herself to care. She would allow herself to accept that she had Naugus, and she wouldn't deny herself the simple pleasure of loving him. He didn't even have to return her feelings, even though she felt like he must. Opening her eyes, she smiled apologetically. "I am sorry." She said, this time with confidence. "I will not allow myself to think such things in the future." Glancing in the mirror she could see Naugus was smiling. She felt relieved that he was no longer worried. Selfish girl, making him feel that way! Lei scolded herself. " It is alright. This place must feel like a dream." He said. It did feel surreal, but Mobius was also a strange place. May be she had been overreacting to think the Void was beyond the realm of believing. May be she had been over estimating herself to think she could even dream a place like this up. Lei could of continued to worry, but Naugus had told her that it was real. Even if he had been nothing but a dream, she could never doubt him Naugus took a step back, much to her disappointment. "So to rectify that, I will now show you the place, including how it has been built. If you know everything, it shouldn't feel as strange to you anymore." Lei didn't wait another moment before wrapping her arm around his. She did her best not to show it, but she really just needed to be close to him right now. Even if he had put her fears to rest, the kirin didn't want to give them another chance to spring back to life. She needed him to comfort her, and Naugus did that just by being there. "I don't want to be a bother." She said, to be polite. "I would love to see what you've built." Posted by: Ixis Naugus Sep 4 2013, 02:28 PM The sculpting hall was the place where Naugus spent most of his time besides his own study really, and it showed. The great hall was filled with crystal statues of all sizes, from small miniatures resting on tables to great statues ten times as tall as mobian. Some where shaped like monsters of myth, some like gods or deities of the numerous religions in Mobius, and some were just extremely detailed statues of mobians of varying species and races. Some were detailed historical figures, some almost abstract creatures that bore no resemblance to anything that had ever walked on Mobius. The double doors leading to the hall opened silently with a wave of Naugus's hand, and they stepped in. The unicorn mage allowed Lei a moment to look at everything, before waving the pincer claw towards his numerous works of art and starting to explain: "This is where I create everything you have seen. It is almost like molding regular clay." The process was much more complicated than that really, but in essence, the founding aspect were similar. It was just that unlike with working regular clay, when you shaped Void crystals, your own force of will and imagination was more important. As long as you could visualize it, you could create it. The kirin tilted her head as she looked around the hall, and after seeing the sheer size and number of the statues, asked: "How long did it take you to learn how to make all of this?" Naugus could not help it, he almost visibly flinched at the question. "A very, very long time." Years, probably decades. He had built this entire citadel and the city surrounding it in the same way, room by room, hall by hall, in what must had taken him centuries. Maybe the reason why he could sympathize with what the kirin had gone through was because he knew very much about being all alone for enough long to almost lose your mind. Could you teach me how to do this? "Yes. Indeed, it is my intention to." He walked to a nearby table, and then took a piece of unshaped void crystal to his hand. This should work as an example. But to what form to shape it? Nothing too vulgar, and nothing shocking either, she was still nervous, even though she went to great lengths trying to hide it. What would she like it to be? A small statue? Jewelry? No, those were too cold, just precious objects. He had to be able to show that void crystals could capture the beauty of nature. Ah, now he had it, simple yet elegant, demonstrating well what you could do with crystals. Naugus turned around and showed the shard of crystal for her, and then turned his full attention to it, starting to shape it with his will, molding it in his arms, shifting it's form. It took only a few moments of intense concentration before the work was finished. Naugus looked at the finished result, a very natural looking rose, and once he was certain he had not let it unrefined from any angle, showed it to her, opening his hand so she could take and inspect it more closely. Posted by: Lei Sep 5 2013, 07:04 PM It mad her sad to think about him all alone in the Void, amongst his statues. Everything was so real looking. Naugus had paid special attention to detail, which said a lot about the kind of person he was. Taking the rose, Lei carefully examined it. It was the same color as everything else in this place, but also delicate. It looked like Naugus had picked a real rose to give her, not something sculpted from crystal. He had created it as a demonstration of what could be done with void crystal, and how to mold it, but he could of made anything. Instead Naugus had made her a rose, which made the kirin feel giddy. He was going to teach her how to do this as well. She wouldn't need to feel so useless, and then she could help him. Lei smiled, despite the fact she still felt a little shaky. She couldn't stop herself from hugging the unicorn around the neck. “ I don't think I've thanked you for everything you've done. “ she said, pressing her cheek against his. Lei wanted him to know that she appreciated him, and at this moment she didn't couldn't think of any other way than telling himIt had already taken her too long to say “thank you”. Yes, she had been overwhelmed by everything, and still felt a bit that way, but that couldn't stay her excuse forever. Lei was determined to be as much of a comfort to him, as he was to her. She couldn't be as strong as him, but she didn't need to be. “I just wanted you to know, I will do anything you ask of me. “ There was no doubt in her voice. Lei had been thinking it over and over again, but now it was out. It was just something she thought. Naugus knew it, and that made everything a little more solid. It never occurred to her that he could easily abuse such a promise. Even if it had, Lei wouldn't of cared. Naugus responded to her hug by wrapping his own arms around her, pressing Lei's head to his chest. Resting her eyes for a moment, the kirin smiled. Yes, she did love being held like this. “ I am happy to know that. I'm going to teach you how to listen, shape and use the Void. You will have the necessary power to defend yourself from any machine, or mobian. “ Lei's eye opened wide, allowing what he had just said to sink in. Go back to mobius? It was a fight not to shiver at that thought. He wasn't throwing her out, but she couldn't keep herself from feeling a little sick. “You're.. sending me back?” She couldn't keep a tremor out of her voice, although she remained calm. Or at least she tried to. ((OOC: If there's anything weird I have a cold. >_> It's the cold meds fault. <_< Yes.)) Posted by: Ixis Naugus Sep 7 2013, 06:21 PM He just kept holding her, trying to be as comforting as possible. it was easy to guess how shocking this could be to her, but she had to know it. Despite all his power, or rather, because of it, there were things he could not do, and places where he could not go. Places where she could go without any difficulties. But he wanted her to also understand that she would not leave before she would be ready. "Not in a long while, not before you are ready. But yes, I want you to help me in my quest. And you can go to the places where I can't." She frowned, but somehow, Naugus was certain that she would not had refused anything he would ask of her, no matter what it would be. "I said I would do anything you asked, so I will go anywhere you want me to go." She paused for a moment and then just smiled, saying in a teasing tone: "I just got here, and you're already planning to send me off. Typical of a man to want time alone." To be honest, this kind of barter and teasing was not anything he had much experience with. When Naugus had been young last time, most women were expected to look charming, and not speak. But he did want to break the tension, and make her more relaxed. "I don't want to imprison you here to my castle, like some princess from a children's story..." And despite being as magnificent as it was, Void was also devoid of change or life of it's own. Sometimes Naugus had cursed dearly for the torture of being even able to look to the Mobius, and see everything that happened there. Knowing and seeing a living, breathing world but unable to be in it, had almost driven him mad. On hindsight, if he would have had someone like Lei with him at the start of his exile, things could had gone much differently. Naugus let go of her, but still made sure to hold her hand, nodding towards the rooms leading out of the hall. "Come, we will return here later for your studies, but I want you to show my study as well, and explain in more detail what I wish you to do for me." She did not even hesitate and just followed him, such pure expression of admiration and what Naugus could only call love in her eyes, with a sweet smile on her lips. "Lead and I will follow, Naugus-sama." Posted by: Lei Sep 7 2013, 11:51 PM Naugus' study was unlike the other rooms. It was still the same color of the void, but it seemed like he had spent more time and care into it's construction, which was saying something.Lei briefly noticed the real books on the shelves, before staring at the mirror. It was intricately decorated, and almost took up an entire wall. She almost asked what it was , before her eyes settled on the table in the center of the room. It had to be the most striking feature of the room. Hesitating momentarily Lei let go of Naugus' hand. He would still be there, she told herself. It would probably be nice to not have her hanging on him for a moment. She stared at the mountains. Over the map there were lights, which Lei guessed might be marking something. May be some kind of relic? She looked up to watch Naugus walk towards the table, her gaze never shifting from him. Lei moved closer towards his side, deciding they had been apart for long enough. “May I ask what this is?” Naugus obliged her, waving at the table. ”Another one of my creations, a living map. It can show us many parts of the world, far more precisely than any normal parchment. The glowing orbs are Void nests, this is the region from where I found you. “ Lei listened to every word he spoke, nodding her head ever so slightly. Her arm had managed to wrap itself around his, which she hardly noticed. It just felt natural to be right next to him. At this point the map did not surprise her, she accepted it without question. If he could shape this place to his will, then it seemed more than reasonable he could have made a living map. It wasn't like anything she had seen, and Lei just allowed herself to bask in the glow of Naugus' genius Her eyes narrowed as he pointed at where they had met, her grip tightening slightly. ”There is the village. It is now a blooming nest of Void crystals. “ She leaned against him, eying the map. “What do the nests do?” ”Each nest is a small rift to the Void. They siphon energy from here, and then transmit it there, growing more of these crystals which are around us. Those crystals give me power, and allow me to have more golems at my command. More nests there are in the region, stronger I am. “ Lei's lips drew back in a dangerous smile, her eyes narrowing sharply. This was a good fate for the people who had imprisoned her, giving power to Naugus. May be Mobians did have a use after all, being a source of energy for him. In a way they were giving back to her as well, because she needed Naugus. Yes, this was a good fate for the scum, may be too good for them. The kirin's idea of justice would have been to cut their throats, and let them bleed like the beasts they were. Of coarse, how could she argue when they gave her Naugus-Sama more power, and more golems? Although that brought up the question of why he needed more golems. Lei felt like a child pestering him with so many questions, but during her childhood, hadn't that been a mark of a good student? Not being afraid to ask when you didn't know? “Are you building an army? “ She asked, looking up at his face. Naugus nodded, making Lei beam with hope. She could see his armies pushing forward, crushing all who opposed him. ”Yes. An army to fight against the machines, and anyone else who opposes me. Void crystals are impervious to everything else besides magic. And once I have opened a large enough rift, torn enough wide hole in between the Void and Mobius, my powers will be...limitless. “ Naugus waved his hand, and the map changed to reveal a crystal citadel, that appeared to stretch endlessly in all directions. The way he spoke, with such authority and determination reminded Lei of the night before. It also brought to mind how cheated she had been this morning. Her tail flicked, attempting to release some of the tension that was beginning to build up as she thought about it. He was so powerful, and she loved him so much made her chest ache. Lei found herself staring at his tattoos again, and his chest, and these were not what she should be thinking about. The kirin scolded herself. They were trying to have a serious conversation, but she couldn't quite stop herself from focusing on his lips. “I will do my best to be as beneficial to you as I can.” She said, leaning closer to the unicorn, and planting a kiss on his chin. May be he would realize how much she needed him right now. Naugus always seemed to understand exactly what she was feeling when she was feeling it. She leaned closer planting a kiss on his lips, making a small pleading noise. Naugus returned her kiss, his hands trailing up to the shoulders of her kimono. Excitement began to build as she felt the fabric begin to slip. They had unfinished business to attend to. |
