Some new Trinary info:

- Full title: 拡張少女系トライナリー (Augmented Reality Girls Trinary).
- iOS/Android. Release within 2016, free to play with microtransaction.
- Playing the game and watching the anime are both required to fully enjoy the project. The anime shows the main story, while the game features ADV sections, battle sections and SNS tools that you use to communicate with the girls.
- New anime episodes released weekly through the app, not sure if also airs on TV or not but don't count on it.
- Typical story. A mysterious cocoon called Phenomenon appears in Tokyo, people who get sucked into the cocoon turn mad and kill other humans. The government forms a group of girls to fight against this Phenomenon thingy.
- Character designs by neco, with guest participation from well-known artists including Nagiryou (Ar tonelico), Inomata Mutumi (Tales series), Namori (Yuru Yuri), Himukai Yuuji (Etrian Odyssey series), Yoshiku (Yorukuni), etc.
- Concept and planning by Tsuchiya Akira. Development progress 80%.

EDIT: Fixed info regarding character designer.

Edited topic title to include Trinary for discussions.

Some more details and screenshots are out for Trinary http://www.4gamer.net/games/355/G035561/20160908084/

Official English title is Augmented Reality Girls Trinary.

The weekly anime can be watched for free on the smartphone app (of course), for free on YouTube/Nico but only the newest episode, and available on paid streaming sites.

Also they typo'd the Polish girl's name. Should have been Gabriela Lotaryńska.

EDIT: Official site http://kakutora.com/ (links to both game and anime sites)

Preregistration for Trinary has been up for a few days, plus a Twitter following campaign http://apps.kakutora.com/preregist.html

Pretty much nobody even remembers it exists, but here are some new Trinary screens https://www.famitsu.com/news/201702/11126679.html

It's been almost 5 months since the preregister campaign opened, and the game is still stuck at fewer than 20k preregistrations. Considering preregistration is completely free and only requires an email address, this number is dreadfully low.

Amazingly, the 5 girls' Twitters are still being updated with new tweets almost everyday. It kinds of hurts me inside to see so much effort going unnoticed. Give them a follow if you want, it's a very simple but very direct way to support GUST.

Hi. Just out of curiosity...

You know, I'm pretty much unrelated even to this forum at all, but as you say "kinds of hurts me inside to see so much effort going unnoticed", I thought I should check it out and... I didn't understand anything, because I can't read Japanese, and it's really hard to invest time in this. I also don't have a Twitter account. Still, you've posted that, I've checked it out, and that's pretty much all. Can you tell what's that thing in a nutshell?

And just why the heck is the world filled with people promoting their own special things no one seems to be able to experience (or experience the RIGHT way, I'd say). Or is it just me.

Those are the Twitter accounts for the characters from GUST's upcoming smartphone game/anime hybrid franchise, Augmented Reality Girls Trinary. The project has been virtually unnoticed so far, there's always the possibility of it being canned due to lack of interest.

In spite of that, the 5 girls (well, the people behind them, since they're fictional characters) are still working hard at updating their Twitter accounts frequently even though so few people pay attention to them at all. It's diligent effort gone unrecognized.

Well, if you don't have a Twitter account then it's fine. If you do though, following them is as simple as a single click. When the project is finally launched later, you can also help by downloading the game app (even if you don't play it due to it being Japanese) and watch the anime (will probably get subbed I guess, unless it really is that much unpopular).

Because if they promote their things, at least there will be a chance for others (no matter how few) to notice them. Meanwhile if they never promote their things, there will never be a chance for anyone to notice them at all. Low chance is better than no chance.

Well, yeah. Diligent effort is something I respect (at least usually). And you are right about 1% > 0% but that was an overall abstract question as to why are things organized like that in the first place. Though, better to not get started on that...

Anyway, my developers team has this Twitter account, so I've told our PR manager to follow those 5. I wonder if this helps...

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly, but preregistration and Twitter follow campaigns are extremely popular in Japan - nearly every smartphone game these days would have either of those, or both.

Trinary OP https://youtu.be/6MBArUodGLI

Catchy song with pretty weird arrangement/mix. Probably the most unorthodox GUST opening since EschaLogy's.

My question was just pure and unnecessary philosophy about why people like different things and how promotions work or don't work.

Official launch date 4/12 hmm.

Still very hesitated about this game. I hate smartphone games, plus there's a pretty high chance it'll close service in less than a year, so I don't want to get attached too much to it. The anime will probably be good, but my phone is an antique iPhone 5s with a midget 4-inch screen so watching the anime on it will feel like driving a supercar through the rush hour traffic jam.

Until now the only mobile games that I played were the Chaos Rings, since in Europe they were available only in that way.
Let's hope for the best?

Amazingly, today (just one day before opening service) Trinary has somehow managed to reach 50k preregistrations.

It's kinda sad that only Ayami gets her own additional episode while the others don't. Also lol they killed off the girls' Twitters.

Trinary anime ep1 up https://youtu.be/McZKDBYgWCU

EXEC_TRIGADGET/.

I'm liking Miyabi's Kouchi dialect. Sounds so exotic.

Suddenly erotic ED out of nowhere http://i.xomf.com/wsjxx.jpg

Overall the production quality is pretty low, the music sounds like Ar tonelico at times and Persona other times, the story makes no sense so far, the girls are cute but generic and lacking in personality. I know it's only the first episode, but in all honesty it doesn't exactly appeal itself as an interesting show.

———

Game up on Google Play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.koeitecmo.Kakutora

Out for iOS now too, link in spoiler because too long.

Spoiler: click to toggle

———

Playing the game now. I feel like becoming Earthes all over again.

Most of the game isn't voiced. Why.

Please tell me I can make her wear skirt later, PLEASE GUST http://i.xomf.com/bhrjq.png

Diving? Check. Kokorosphere? Check. Tsuchiya game alright.

The game dialogues are more interesting than the anime. Gameplay, on the other hand, is typical gacha-based mobile game...

...

Reinstalling the game on Android now.

Never mind, my Android phone is too crappy it can't even run the game, and there's absolutely no way I'm buying an entire new Android device just to play a smartphone game. And the anime is below average too so I'm dropping it as well. As much of a GUST fan as I am, I'm calling it quit here—that's all there is for me with the project.

Sorry GUST, I was so very close to actually paying for some in-app purchases. I'll save the money to buy some proper video games instead.

Note to self, never ever buy anything from Apple ever again, ever.

Maybe a geolocation block? I'm playing it just fine on a 3 year old Galaxy S5. If you're outside Japan, have you tried using a proxy?

The game is just okay so far, I guess. Doesn't in any way replace a real, console Tsuchiya game that I wanted, but I plan to keep playing it.

So far I'm at Chapter 6 for Gab, Chapter 5 for Miyabi, Chapter 5 for Tsubame, and Chapter 2 for Aya. Been wasting time lately spending my stamina on farming strengthening ingredients instead of proceeding the story, but once I finally evolve one SSR to UR I'll stop farming and go back to catching up with the story.

I think they goofed with the monetization - I don't see how this is gonna make any money. I have 3 SSRs and 400 gems stockpiled playing free so far, there's no sense of need to spend at all.

Maybe they can make some money if they open a Chiharu channel and charge for it/put it in a gacha, though. Everyone loves Chiharu.

Edit: I meant Chapter 5/4/4/1...forgot they started chapter numbering at 0. Anyway, if anyone is playing and would like to add me, my user ID is 697209580. I'll boot someone from my friends list to free up space, just let me know your handle or ID so I know which invite to accept once I do.

The OP/ED single is out on the corners of the interweb if anyone's interested.

It's obviously no Utau Oka, but I've grown fond of the OP lately. Not really liking the ED though.
