Welcome to the Inkewell, my personal thread. An Inkwell is a small jar filled with ink that is used to recharge fountain pains. That said, you can guess that this thread is about my written work.

Let me explain what you'll find (or rather, not find) here:

I can't make sigs, banners, avatars nor fanbars.
I can't draw either.

So don't expect any of this here.

It''s a song sang by Maria Pavarózzi and her musical group. They are a famous itinerant musical group of Rhapzodya that goes around the world performing concerts and Opera Plays. They usually sing songs about myths and folk songs of Rhapzodya. This one is the introduction song of the group's most famous opera called "Lagun tu Blvö" (Lake of Blue). This opera is based on myths and tales of Rhapzodya, borrowing many folk songs. Map of Rhapzodya


The name of the world is Rhapzodya. As you can guess, it's a music themed world. In this world, people can sing to channel the power of their Tunes and attain magical power. But some can go beyond just magical great nations. Rhapzodya has variated climate going from deserts to swamps and frozen lands. Rhapzodya has four main races: the humans, the Deiwos the fay and the amusia. The humans control two nations while the fay and the amusia only control one each, and a fifth nation is made with the unification of all races (except for the Deiwos). Rhapazodya is divided in four main continents, with one being covered in perpetual frost, making it inhabitable. Four oceans divide the four continents.

Terminology

Tune
The life force of every living being of Rhapzodya and of Rhapzodya itself, the Tune is what composes the mind, the soul, the feelings and the consciousness. Every Tune has a certain rhythm. The rhythm defines mostly, but not strictly, the being's soul and mind. The speed of the rhythm affects the lifespan of the creature, and its ability to synchronize with others. The Tune also has a melody, which defines, but not strictly, the feelings and consciousness of a being, but its in constant change and its affected by exterior influences; it's the source of every magic. Tunes can harmonize with each other and even sync between themselves. When two Tunes sync, a third Tune is created, thus giving birth to a new life. But different species have different Tunes so synchronization rarely occurs between beings of different species. The Tune is such powerful energy that it has the power to manipulate and create other types energies and matter, and this is the "magic" offered by the Cantatas and Symphonies. Through the use of Cantata and Symphonies one can manipulate his Tune's rhythm and melody, allowing him to cast magic or even fuse his Tune with a Deiwos.

Deiwos
The "gods" of Rhapzodya, adored by many groups of people around the world. The Deiwos are higher, sentient lifeforms whose Tune plays in such intense rhythm and melody that they are essentially made of magic. Even though people see them as gods, they are, in fact, the aggregation of many different Tunes of already deceased beings, which merged together, giving birth to a new level of consciousness. The power of the Deiwos is unmeasurable, to the point that people say they are the origin of all and that they can harmonize themselves with Rhapzodya's Tune, having control over the planet. The Deiwos is hardly ever spotted in their corporeal form on Rhapzodya's populated continents, but they are common on Katajjaq's frozen lands. They can take many forms, from humanoid beings to never-before seen beings or plants. One Lead Aoidos can make a Choral pact with a Deiwos, allowing the singer to have amazing power. A Deiwos' voice and songs are considered the most beautiful thing in the Universe.

Babilos
The universal language of Rhapzodya, spoken by all races in it, the Babilos is divided into four different dialects and the language holds special powers when sang. The first and most common dialect is the Vulgar Babilos, and its used for everyday talk. It holds little influence over the singer's Tune, so it does not allows the casting of magic, at least enough to be perceived. Traditional Babilos is more uncommon than regular Babilos and it has the power to control the Tune, so the songs in Traditional Babilos, called Cantata, brings magical effect. The Ritualistic Biblos is the language of the Deiwos themselves which some humans called Lead Aiodos can use efficinetly, allwoing them to fuse their Tunes with the Deiwos on a Symphony. The Babilos Corpel is a special man-made dialect of Babilos and it's used to control OSSIA allowing the singer to extract the power of the Deiwos within the Server, allowing the use of magic even for the Amusia and non-Aoidos humans.

Aoidos
Currently, in the human race outside of Tehillim, 80% of the population has access to the magical powers. Even though they are the majority, they are still considered special, and are called Aoidos. These singer can sing songs called Cantata using Traditional Babilos, having access to magical powers. But only 1% of the Aoidos can make a sucessful Choral Pact with a Deiwos. Those who can make such pact are called Lead Aoidos. Centuries ago, the Aoidos population was bellow the 20% and now days the population is decreasing exponentially. The reason for this seems to have a relation with the Tehillim Empire.

Choral Pact
A special pact made between a Aoidos and one or more Deiwos. The Aoidos who can perform such pact receive the title of Lead Aoidos, and are highly respected by the society. But it's rare for one to attain a pact with a Deiwos. The Pact involves the singing of a song in Ritualistic Babilos, which is not known by many, and the song must appease the Deiwos allwoing the harmonization of both the singer's and the Deiwos' Tune. Upon appeasing the Deiwos, it will become loyal to the Aoidos and can be called through the song called Symphony. It's easier to attain a pact when sang to a Deiwos in corporeal form, but it's also possible to make the pact without a Deiwos presented, for if the song appeases the Deiwos, it will appear to the Aoidos. For that reason, many Aoidos travel to the harsh environment of Katajjaq in search of Deiwos that they can make pact with. But most of the Aoidos who leave on this quest either come back empty handed, or don't come back at all.

Cantata
Songs sang in Traditional Babilos by the Aoidos, they have the power to cause momentary modifications in the singer's Tune allowing them to even control this Tune out of their body. Doing this allows them to use magic. With the Cantata, they can manipulate the matter and energy, affect the minds of the listeners and even create things out of thin air. The Amusia can't use the power of Cantata.

Symphonies
Special songs that can only by sang by the Lead Aoidos using the Ritualistic Babilos. They are the "validation" of the Choral Pact. Upon singing a Symphony, the Aoidos' Tune and the Deiwos' Tune are modified allowing such powerful harmonization that both Tunes will merge into one, either momentarily or permanently. Once the Tunes are merged, the singer will have full access to the Deiwos' power allowing even more powerful magics to be cast through the Symphony. Powerful enough to create life, destroy entire cities and even create entire lands. But Symphonies come with a cost: sometimes, the Deiwos Tune may consume the Aoidos Tune, causing both personalities to be mixed, sometimes even after the Deiwos is no longer within the body. Only humans can merge with the Deiwos.

Races
Humans
Humans are the biggest race in numbers. They have colonized three of the four continents, and even the bottom of the sea. They are the leaders of three largest nations of the world and have access to immense technology and magical power. Two things mark the major difference the Humans from the Fay and the Amusia, and it's their short lifespan and the easiness their Tune can be changed and modified. The later makes the human special among all races because they are the only ones who can become Lead Aoidos and merge themselves with the Deiwos. For that reason, the are usually considered the most holy of all races. The humans of Orchestra usually have lighter skin and hair than the humans of Choro. They think of the Deiwos as Gods.

Fay
The Fay are elven-like beings who live in the forests of Orchestra. They are easily recognized thanks to their pointy ears, tall height, pale hair and skin, and the small insect-like wings on their backs. The Fay do not have Aoidos because all of them have access to the power of magic. They flap their wings according to their Tunes, allowing it to materialize in form of magic, and making the Cantatas unnecessary (even though they usually sing along the flapping to attain higher concentration). The Fay's Tune has a incredibly faster but fixed rhythm, making them more powerful spellcaster than humans, but in turn this greatly shorten their lifespan to only 25 years and the fact that their Tune is not that malleable as the one of a human makes it impossible for them to merge with Deiwos. In turn, their rhythm is almost the same as of Rhapzodyas, so when they die, the rhythm is "recycled" by Rhapzodya and this makes them to come back to life retaining their past memories and knowledge, but with a different body. They call this the Metamorphosis, and each Metamorphosis make them stronger. Only after around ten Metamorphosis a Fay can cast magic, and after around fifty of them, their Tune no longer beat in the same rhythm as Rhapzodya, and they can die for good. If they are killed, their rhythm gets messed up and unable to be recycled. They think of the Deiwos as personifications of nature, and as guardians of the world.

Amusia
Often considered the eldest races of Rhapzodya, the Amusia have taken the dunes of Takht as home. They are short in height, have a hardened skin, scruffy hair, a hunchback and their nose is curved to prevent the entering of sand. Due to the harsh conditions that the Takht's environment presents, through eons of evolution they managed to keep their Tune's rhythm in a low and constant beat, greatly extending their lifespan, but lowering (but not completely removing) their emotional levels and completely extinguishing their abilities to sing Cantatas or Symphonies. But thanks to their long lifespan and ability to look at things without the interference of emotions, they were able to reach a technological level far above the one of any other race. They are the inventors of the airships, Tune-powered weapons, and many other things used in daily life by every race. They can live around 800 years. They see the Deiwos as mere natural phenomena.

Continents

Orchestra
The second largest of the continents, where the Royal Empire of Aifalhon and a major part of the United Republics of Rubato are situated. The continent is covered with plains, lowlands, mountains ranges, forests and rivers. The climate on Orchestra is of defined seasons with Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The wildlife is varied with many different species. Orchestra is the continent with the highest number of cities with 4/7 of its surface covered by cities. Orchestra is connected with Choro through the Anghas Landbridge. Mostly humans of Orchestra have white skin and light hair.

Takht
The smaller continent. Covered by deserts and savannas, this continent is dry through 2/3 of the year. The only nation existing in Takht is the Technocratic Tribes of Ther'Min. The continent is surrounded by oceans and a natural chain of mountains on the west works as a natural wall against the attacks from Orchestra. The wildlife of Takht is characterized by scarce vegetation with small trees and the fauna is comprised mostly of armored animals, reptiles and preying birds. The soil of Takht is rich in minerals and fuel. A common sight among the dunes of Takht are the piles of scrap metal and giant cables that act as connetion between the cities of Ther, Min, and the small tribes along the desert. These cables are capable of transmitting zettabytes of information in the blink of an eye, and are essential for the communication of the Amusian cities, and following these cables you for sure lead one to a town or village.

Choro
The largest continent, it's divided into two different "sub-continents": the Rhap'varis and Muirduel. The Rhap'varis was once a beautiful region with mountain ranges and a huge biodiversity, even tho it was plagued by natural disasters such as volcanic activity and earthaquakes. It's said when the population of Rhap'varis started to develop technologically to the point they were able to create life in laboratory the Deiwos were enraged, harmonized themselves with the Tune of Rhapzodya and "sank" Rhap'varis and everything in it under a sea of flames and water, and preventing any Tune from playing in it. Now, the region is just a piece of dead land covered in toxic gas and poisonous rain. It's said that the survivors of this tragedy were the one who developed the OSSIA supercomputer.

Muirduel on the other side was left intact from the Deiwos' fury, and it's still covered in life. The whole land is covered in tropical forests and it's has the most diverse wildlife. The region is under the United Republics of Rubato domain, but many independent, indigenous tribes exist in this land. Most are in peace with Rubato, but some tend to cause some problem with wars. Due to unknown reasons, the humans from Muirduel are more susceptible to successfully pact with Deiwos than the people of Orchestra. The humans of Muirduel have dark skin.

Katajjaq
Covered only in ice and snow located on the South, this land is not populated by any nation, but it's said that the Theocratic Empire of Tehillim is hidden in the heart of the continent. An old legend tells that in the heart of Katajjaq is where the borders between Divine Land of the Deiwos and Rhapzodya are located, and that place is always covered in colorful lights and nature there is more lively than anywhere else. That place is called Heavenly Gate and the capital of Tehillim, Empyrean City, was built around it. The Aurora is said to come from the Heavenly Gate and it's made from the Tunes of many Deiwos singing together, forming a sheet music of light in the sky of the song being sang. Truth or legend, one thing is fact: Deiwos physically appears on Katajjaq more than on any other place and the armies from Tehillim always come from the South.

Nations
Rhapzodya has five major nations that rule the world. While three of them are in peace with each other and have a equality in terms of power, two of them compete with each other over the control of the world. They are Rhapzodya's most powerful nation: Ossia and the Tehillim.

Theocratic Empire of Tehillim
The Tehillim Empire exists since the time the Lead Aoidos came to existence. It once ruled over 90% of Rhapzodya, but due to some resistance from other people and the decline of the human population able to become Aoidos the Empire declined and supposedly disappeared. Eons later, the empire became just a legend on history books, until it reappeared again with a insetting desire to attain its former glory. The nation of Tehillim is hidden from the rest of the world and its located in the heart of Katajjaq in a place called Heavenly Gate. The entire population of this nation is of Aoidos, and all of them can become Lead Aoidos. The reason for this is unknown, but it's probably due to the location Tehillim, since the Heavenly Gate is the border between Rhapzodya and the Deiwos World. The sovereign of the Empire is the Pope and he servers as a link between the humans and Deiwos, working is an avatar of the "Gods' Will". Tehillim is currently in war with Ossia over the control of the world and for the conversion of the people to followers of the Deiwos' Will.

Ossia
Ossia is not truly a nation, but instead it's a society of people of every race which wants to be "free from the Gods' domain". It does not have any territory other than a underwater city-like research facility. The people of this nation instead live in a virtual reality inside OSSIA. Ossia was founded by a group of scientist who studied a way to give the power of the songs to everyone on the world without the need to make a pact with the "Gods". its lead scientist was a Amusia named Orpheus. As fruit of their research they developed OSSIA, a Song Server which hosts the Tune of seven Lead Aoidos and eight Deiwos. The people of Ossia were them connected to the Song Server and their minds were transported to a Virtual Reality. The dream of the Ossia people was to create a physical landmass maintained by Song Server, but due to many adverse factors, such dream was never turned into reality. They are currently on war with Tehillim over the control of the world and the "release" of the people from the Deiwos' grasp.

United Republics of Rubato
The human nation, it dominates the south, eastern and northeastern part of Orchestra and the southeast of Choro. The URR is composed of 39 human countries which united into one centralized government to attain more power. Its capital, Rubato, is located on a bay in the eastern coast of Orchestra. Rubato is the largest nation between the three which rule Rhapzodya's habitable continents, but the weakest in terms of warfare tactics and armaments only being able to conquer almost the entirety of Orchestra and Choro thanks to Aifalhon pacifism. The army of Rubato is made mostly by Aoidos with the Lead Aoidos being often appointed as generals, but regular humans are in great number on the army. Even though most people approve the URR there are some rebells with separatist ideals that think the URR should be terminated. Some are radical enough to attack governmental organizations and are considered terrorists groups. Small independent countries also impose resistance to URR expansionism. The separatist ideal is lately spreading through the population thanks to a organization known only as the Warriors for Independent States or WIS. The URR made a pact with Aifalhon called Orchestra Preservation Treat that prohibits the URR from devastating the nature of Orchestra without Aifalhon's permission.

Royal Empire of Aifalhon
The Nation of the Fay. It's located in almost every forests of Orchestra but the "capital" is the Forest of Aifalhon were the sacred Aifalhon Tree is located. The Royal Palace is located in the Tree's trunk and from there the Kind and Queen can look over the whole Empire just by synchronizing their Tune with Aifalhon's. The Fay are lovers of all natural things and this is mirrored on the Empire, in a way that they only pick from Rhapzodya what it gives to them, and they are a pacific nation, never going to war unless extreme necessary. Even so they still posses amazing war tactics and strong soldiers thanks to their magical proficiency, but in numbers and armaments they are poor. Although the Fay nation is called Royal Empire of Aifalhon by the other races they don't consider themselves an Empire, but instead they call themselves the "Family", born from Aifalhon's seeds and loyal servants to Aifalhon's saplings, the King and Queen.

Technocratic Tribes of Ther'Min
The Amusia "nation" is in fact a group of semi-nomad tribes that established a huge network of knowledge and information between themselves. The cities of Ther and Min are the "capitals" of this nation where the decisions concerning all tribes is decided. But each tribe have a autonomy over its own affairs. All the tribes are connected with each other and with Ther and Min through series of cables and wireless networks. Ther was built around Takht's largest oasis and the city can be easily recognized by the large dome that protects it from the desert's dangers and from other nations attacks during war times. Ther is like a giant laboratory and testing area with many inventors and scientists taking residence in the city. The ideas born in Ther are then send to Min to be built, tested and eventually manufactured in large scale. The city of Min is built under the deadly sands of Takht in a series of complex tunnels and holes and blessed by artificial sunlight and water from water tables, aquifers and the rare rain that comes as a blessing to all Takht. Min is where all the greatest Amusia engineers are gathered, building the complex machines and making the ideas and theories that come from Ther true. Min has the largest mining camp in all Rhapzodya.

Empyrean City
Built in the heart of Katajjaq, Empyrean City is the capital of the Theocratic Empire of Tehillim. The city is built in nearby Cerului Column, and due to the close proximity to such powerful Tune Source, the city is blessed with abundant life and protection against the cold environment of Katajjaq. Centuries ago, the city was ruled by Aoidos monks (the Tehillim Monks) not having any real form of government, and was open to every race from Rhapzodya to visit and it was the training ground for the strongest Aoidos, but after the Great War of Nations the city simply vanished along with the Heavenly Gate, and no one was ever able to find it again with those who searched for it never coming back. Eventually, the city was only known thanks to old legends and fairy-tales and it became a blur in Rhapzodya's history. It stayed as a mythical land for ages, until it raised again as the Theocratic Empire of Tehillim ruled by the Gran Pope, a man with a insatiable desire for world "unification and purification" under Tehillim's Path of the Hallowed Tune Scale religion.

The city is really unique and beautiful, covered by gardens with unique species of plants, water bodies, fountains and hills. During the day, the city is bathed in a golden light with the skies dyed in gold and at night a gentle purple light bathes the buildings of the city. The aurora is ever present, painting the sky with it dancing colors. The architecture is an unusual but majestic mix between modern age and ancient architecture. In the center of the city lies the Sanctorium, the seat of power of the Tehillim Empire, built around the Cerului Column. A dreamlike melody can be heard from any place in the city, without any apparent source.

Cerului Column
Commonly but wrongly called Heavenly Gate, the Cerului Column is thought to be a link between Rhapzodya and the Heavenly Land of the Deiwos. Located in the center of Empyrean City, the Column projects from the Sanctorium and ascends to heaven. The Column is a strange structure, as if one glares at it from one angle, one will perceive it as a beam of light, but from another angle, one will perceive it as an actual column, made of stone. The Column has no defined color or texture, constantly changing according to the one who perceives it. At the base of the Column is where the real Heavenly Gate is located, a giant door that leads to the Column's inside and is guarded by two Deiwos known as the Twin Gatekeepers. One who is worthy to pass through the Gate and venture through the Column's inside and survive is blessed with the most powerful Choral Pacts. In reality, the Column is a giant Tune Source that gushes from the land but it's whole nature and complexity is still a mystery for even the wisest Amusia.

Gran Pope
The head of the Tehillim Empire. He is a incredibly strong Lead Aoidos and claims to have made Choral Pact with over 30 Deiwos, including some of the Primeval Deiwos and these Deiwos have become one with his consciousness, allowing him to combine the power of them all to sing Symphonies with god=like power. He also claims that he can communicate with the Primeval Deiwos inside the Heavenly Land, and is a direct messenger of the Deiwos of Existence. Whether these claims are true or not, no one knows, but one thing is certain: the man is able to manipulate the mind of a whole nation and is powerful enough to keep the Empyrean City protected from any sort of invasion. The Pope main goal is the conversion of everyone in Rhapzodya to the Path of the Hallowed Tune Scale, Tehilim's Deiwotic Religion, and along with it, the world unification, purification and domination.

Path of the Hallowed Tune Scale
The Deiwotic religion of the Theocratic Empire of Tehillim, which, unlike other Deiwotic religions, sees only those who are able to use Symphonies as worthy of Salvation. The Path teaches that the Primeval Deiwos created the humans as Lead Aoidos and the one who are unable to perform Choral Pacts are not in the Deiwos love. The other races are seem as impure animals that must be destroyed in order to "cleanse" Rhapzodya. The main teaching of the Path is that everything is controlled by the Composer's Hallowed Tune Scale, and there is no Free Will, only the Composer's Will. The lesser Deiwos are seems as angels and messengers, who descended to Rhapzodya as a way to save the humans by performing. Those who goes against the Path must be converted by force or annihilated. The Path of the Hallowed Tune Scale goes against the ideals of every other Nation in Rhapzodya, specially Ossia, and this is what caused the Quiet War to break.

Quiet War
Or War for Freedom as it's called by Ossia or War of Guidance, by Tehillim is a war between Rhapzodya's greatest nations, Ossia and Tehillim. The reasons for the War is Tehillim's desire to dominate the world under its religion, which goes against Ossia's ideals of Free Will. Until now the War never had a official conflict of large scale, with only small, isolated confrontations between the two Nation's military forces. With this, the Quiet War is more of a ideological War between the the two Nations in a constant quest for converting the other Nations, which, in turn, did not take sides in the War. But they are still affected with the ever growing tension between Ossia and Tehillim. The Quiet War is in the verge of becoming a World War with Ossia's finally convincing the Amusia to join them and Tehillim forcing their way into Rubato's government.

OSSIA
The top of technology in all Rhapzodya, the Orpheus' Song Server for Intellectual Advancement, a supercomputer was created by the greatest minds of all and the lead scientist was the one of the smartest Amusia that has ever lived, Orpheus. He created OSSIA to fulfill his dream of every person in Rhapzodya be able to draw the amazing power that the Songs can bestow. OSSIA's inner system is composed of 7 Frames: 1 Mainframe and 6 Subframes who in turn works as 7 independent Servers. The Frames are actually made from the combination of a Lead Aoidos and a Deiwos, who were sealed inside OSSIA, turning their Tunes into the computer system and it's energy source. Within the Supercomputer there arestored over 8 million Tunes of Humans, Fay and Amusia. They are free the draw the power from the any 7 Servers to execute songs that work similar to the Cantata and Symphony and other songs that affect, control and manipulate the computer's system. The Supercomputer's CPU itself is a giant structure located in the center of the Ossia Underwater Research Faclity, towering the other buildings of the place, but the Supercomputer itself has over a hundred of "hardwares" and relay-station hidden across Rhapzodya, some enormous and some small. One good example of this is the Omnibrain Space Station, called Mule Torus, where Omni's core is located and the Apotheon Cannon, a giant Tune weapon the area of destruction with 50Km radius.

Ossia Underwater Research Faclity
Located deep bellow the surface of the Great Sea, the Research Facility is a large underwater city, laboratory and where OSSIA's main facility, the supercomputer itself, is located. Even though it's a city, not many people actually live in it since the construction of the Ethereal World, and the only inhabitants are some scientist, engineers, mechanics and the guardians of the facility. As a laboratory, the people Facility is always working on researching the nature of the Deiwos, Tune, songs and ways to improve OSSIA. The Facility was built above a underwater Tune Source, and one of the main projects of the Facility is the harmonization between the Tunes within OSSIA and Rhapzodya's tune in order to create a physical continent for the Ossia Nation to be built upon.

Ethereal World
The Nation of Ossia does not physically exist in a continent save for the OSSIA, it's relay stations and other facilities. The majority of the nation's population live inside a virtual reality within the OSSIA called Ethereal World. At first, Ossia was not planned to exist inside a virtual reality but in a landmass that would be created through a special Symphony executed by the Frames withint OSSIA that would harmonize with Rhapzodya creating a new continent. The Ethereal World was supposed to be just a "blueprint" for the continent but with Etherea's disappearance and 5f going insane, the plan was scratched and the EW became Ossia's world. The World is maintained by the 7 Frames and it's divided in 7 layers, one for each Frame, and they are arranged on top of each other. Since these layers or "subworlds" are hosted withing each Frame's Server, their existence and are deeply connected with the Frames mind and will. There are a few rules within the EW that everyone except for a selected few fall under:

1)The World s perceived as real as possible.
2)Cantata and Symphonies are of free use, but needs authorization from the Server's Admnistrator (the Frame).
3)One cannot use the power of Songs to manipulate OSSIA's system unless extremely needed.
4)Unless in an extreme case of necessity, if one dies within the EW, his or her Tune shall be released from the OSSIA without a body to host this Tune.

In the middle of the EW lies the Axis Mundi, a tower that connects the Servers. It's a virtual representation of OSSIA's main system, it's programs and "hardware devices. One can move through the worlds using the Axis Mundi. It was created to replicate the Cerului Column. Currently, most of it's areas are closed of thanks to the intense Civil War that's happening between the Servers. After reaching the adulthood, the people within the EW are allowed to leave to the human world using the Avatars, special bodies that can act according to the Tunes stored within OSSIA, allowing the usage of the computers privileges like the power of the Babilos Corpel.

Frames and Servers
OSSIA's system is composed of 7 Servers, and each Server has a Frame. One Mainframe and 6 Subframes. The Frames are made of a living Lead Aoidos who made a pact with a Deiwos and was connected, or rather, fused with the supercomputer. The Tune, in other words, the mind of both the Aoidos and the Deiwos was used to host its Server where the programs and data of OSSIA are stored. The Servers were later converted into the Ethereal World. The Aoidos acts as the Administrator of the Server and the Deiwos being its host, though it's not strict to this rule with the Deiwos allowed to interfere in the Server (see "Etherea"). Because of most Deiwos were forced into living trapped within the computer, they are constantly torturing the Aoidos' mind they are fused with. The prevent the Aoidos to go crazy from the torture, special barriers where installed within their minds around the part where their minds meet the Deiwos' one prevent the Aoidos to "know about the Deiwos torture". But this barriers aren't bulletproof, and the proof of this is 5f's barrier, which came down, causing his mind to shatter. The first Server to come into existence was the Server was Etherea's and she was turned into the Mainframe of OSSIA having full control over the computer's functions and systems. Bellow are the Servers listed in the order of creation:

Etherea
Originally called Ewéria, she was the wife of Orpheus and the first Frame to come to existence, Etherea is the Mainframe of OSSIA and the existence of the computer is connected to her life. Etherea is the only Frame in good terms with her Deiwos, who is a male Deiwos, so Etherea does not have an actual gender, being physically female but mentally genderless, although everyone refers to Etherea as "her". She is the most powerful Frame and is usually considered the most powerful Lead Aoidos that ever existed. She has virtually full control over OSSIA and it's facilities. Before the Civil War started, she was the ruler of the EW and did the best to please the people and maintain the true Free Will of OSSIA's ideals alive. Once the Civil War started she did not want to contribute with the people's suffering, so she sacrificed her physical body to attain 100% connection with the System and sank herself and her Server "bellow" the Sea of Data, vanishing forever. Now days, she is just ancient history for the people and only the Subframes still believe she is alive. Even though she vanished, she still manipulates and influence the System for the sake of OSSIA, but in hiding so no one is able to detect her existence.

Her EW is the least real like of all, with buildings that looks like pieces of microchips, streets that resemble circuits and constant blue glow covering everything. This world has no sun or nature and is only a big city meant to be populated only by Etherea and scientists that checked the System. Before Etherea sank her Server, she allowed the people in it to leave, but those who stayed sank with it and their ancestors still populate it and help Etherea in the depths of OSSIA's System.

Xenos
The second Frame that was implemented to OSSIA, the first Subframe. His real name is Zinus. Xenos can be considered the first Server to be created since Etheria's Server was OSSIA's System itself. Xenos was created with the purpose to allow the people of Ossia to enter OSSIA's System in a virtual reality fashion. Since the Etherial World didn't exist at that time, this was only meant so that the engineering and programmer could modify, fix and enhance the System more precisely by doing it directly inside. Xenos' job is to scan the Tune of the person, translate it to data and send it into the System, allowing the person's mind to be inside the computer. But saying the person's mind is inside the computer is a lie since it isn't a unidirectional process. The System would also be scanned and translated into a "Tune" that would be send to the person's mind. So the mind is inside the System and the System is inside the mind, while neither is inside each other. This process is only possible because OSSIA is Tune-based Processing Unit, in other words, it uses Tune as it's primary mean of working. This Tune is the Tune of the Frames.

Xenos' World is an archipelago of floating islands. They hover in the sky above a green ocean, the Sea of Data. There are over 200 islands, some are smaller than a table and some are large enough to fit a metropolis. Most islands are connected by bridges or stairs and every island that is big enough have at least one village, town or city. The islands float in different altitude but they orbit around the Axis Mundi in the same speed, never one going faster than the other; this allows the bridges to stay safe. Around the Axis Mundi, in an altitude that is the mid-point between the highest and lowest island lies the largest island of the archipelago, and in it lies the largest city of this World, which is also it's capital.

Amalia
Human name is Mélia. The Frame that controls every facility and relay station connected with OSSIA. Her main job is to supervise these facilities, making sure none of them are misused or suffer malfunction, but she may also take full control of them and use at her own accords. She also has partial control over the security system of the facilities, including the Underwater Facility, which she doesn't have control. The security system includes guardian robots, surveillance cameras, traps and even self destruction devices.

Her World is made of a few plains and many mountains. The cities are built on the few plains, around the mountains and sometimes even inside them. Due to the mountains' influence, never ending snow falls on this World, covering the landscape with a mantle of pure white, even when the temperature isn't cold. The mountains and rocks across the World are of a dark brown, almost black contrasting with the whiteness. The trees of this World bloom with flowers of deep red color tainting the pure white with blood color. One may find giant colored ice crystals sprouting out of the ground that never melt and the Ice Trees, tree made of ice. When the crystals and the Ice Trees reflect the sunlight they glow and take different colors. This World's border with the Sea of Data is a giant florest of Ice Trees that forms a shining belt if gazed from a high mountain on a sunny day.

5f
Original name and actual Frame name are lost. Created with the intent of oversee the creation and use of Symphonies meant to control OSSIA and as a mean to connect every Frame when the land would be created. He is the second most powerful Frame, losing only to Etheria in power. Right before the Civil War started 5f suffered a terrible fate: the barrier inside his mind, raised to prevent the constant torture on his Deiows to drive him crazy, collapsed and his mind was filled with pain and the memories of his subconscious being tortured. He could not stand the suffering and went insane threatening the safaty of OSSIA. To prevent his insanity to infect the rest of the System, the other Frames sealed 5f's Server along with everything in it. Since them, the place is off-limits of Ossia's people, and anyone who enters it may be affected by 5f's insanity.

5f's World used to be a beautiful, dreamlike place in a eternal Spring. But since the Server's shape are closely connected to the Frame's mind, when 5f went insane the World went from dreamlike to nightmarish. The World is composed of barren dark lands, deserts and ruins are a common sight. The world is plagued by a eternal storm, with the darkened sky and red flashes of lightning. Symbols of torture and death are scattered through the land. The place is inhabited by monsters, born from the people who were on the Server when 5f went mad. 5f roams through the land, now a shadow of his form self, a giant monster built of pain, suffering and insanity. The closer one gets to 5f's the more insane the World gets, going from a dead land to a surreal shape shifting labyrinth. The Axis Mundi still stands tall in the middle of the World, but a barrier lifts around it preventing anyone getting in or out. Unlike in other Worlds, the Tower here has an old, worn-out, broken and rusty appearance, and this section of the Axis Mundi can be considered the most dangerous.

Pagoda
To create a continent through harmonization between OSSIA and Rhapzodya that wouldn't affect Rhapzodya's surface too much nor it would be a flawed piece of irregular land that would make difficult to populate they needed to make sure this continent would be created following some schematics, so it needed a "blueprint". To download this blueprint into OSSIA and make sure that once the creation of the land started, it would follow the blueprint as planned they needed a new Frame created just for this task. That's how Pagoda, the fifth Frame was created. Pagoda carries within his mind the plans for the land creation but this is not his only task. He is also in charge of overseeing all the digital lifeforms and regulating the Ethereal World. The EW only exists thanks to him, since the virtual world inside OSSIA is in fact a virtual recreation of the data within the blueprint carried by Pagoda. He divided the blueprint into layers and assigned each for a Frame to equally distribute the control over the EW. The EW was created once people of Ossia realized that living inside a virtuay created of the continent while waiting for the actual continent to be created would be better than living in hiding on a crowded underwater facility. After 5f went insane Pagoda took over the creation of Symphonies task. His human name is Eratoswenes.

Pagoda's World is a recreation of how a large portion of the continent is supposed to be. A World composed mostly of plains and small hills, filled with greenery, rivers crossing the land, a few mountains, clear oceans and lushing, breathtaking cities. His EW is the only one that wasn't deviated from the original blueprint affected by the dreams and desires of the ruling Frame after the blueprint was divided for each Frame. This leads to a great question asked by most people of Ossia: Whether the continent, if ever created, will only uses Pagoda's EW as a model or if it will use all Server's EW? Either way, due to the current state of OSSIA, the continent will probably not be created any time soon.

Index
To unify and optimize Xenos, Pagoda and Cari's functions Index was born. As a human he was called Çenso. Index control population and natural resources inside EW, so while Xenos allows the people to connect themselves with the EW and assigns them to their Servers, it's Index who makes sure population in OSSIA doesn't grow or diminish too much. In extreme cases of overpopulation Index's Emergency Protocols allow him to create cataclysms and diseases to thin down the population, but so far, the use of this protocol was not necessary. While Pagoda is the "owner" of the EW, it's Index who fills it with wildlife and minerals according to what the population needs, even though Pagoda has some power over these things. Index also oversees the people that are outside OSSIA through the use of fake bodies, but not as much as Cari. One can say that Index is the Subframe in charge of running a census.

Index's World is the one filled with the most natural resources. It's a giant forest populated by a large diversity of species. The floor of the forest shines with different minerals and gems and giant pillars of these minerals can be seem coming out of the ground. There are even mountains made of pure gold and even diamond. The towns are build among the trees. Even though the resources are plenty, the inhabitants of this Server don't use them that much, instead they export to other Servers and their technology is mostly focused on gathering resources. The trade of resources among Servers is one of the few pacific inter-Servers interaction that is still functioning even with the Civil War.

Cari
The last Human to become a Frame was Carolin, and was the second to last Frame to come into existence. She has a really important job to OSSIA's people, since she is their only connection to the outside world. Cari is the Frame in charge of the fake bodies people inside OSSIA can use to leave the computer's virtual reality. When someone desires to leave OSSIA, she reads the person Tune and creates the fake body out of it. Everyone that is outside OSSIA is also under her supervision. She is also in charge to keep the peace and equality among the Frames and Servers of OSSIA. She loves every person on Ossia equally, and will protect them if necessary. She and her Server's population does not partake on the Civil War, but are heavily active on the War for Freedom.

Cari's World is a metropolis where the buildings seem to touch the sky. In the city it's always nighttime, but the lights of the streets and buildings can make up for the lack of sunlight. The only place without light on the city is its center where the Axis Mundi dwarfs the tallest of the skyscrapers. The city is always lively, with the streets always filled with people. event though the light of the city is enough to dim the one of the stars, the stars can be seeing despite of that. In the outskirt of the city lies the Twilight Slums, which, regardless of the name, isn't a slum because it's not populated by living people. The place is actually a bunch of ruins and abandoned buildings with unknown origins The sky in the slum isn't of night, but it has the light and a eternal sunrise/sunset can be seeing on the horizon, no matter which direction you are facing. The place is used as a waste deposit by the Server's inhabitants so machines controlled by Cari roam the place to pick up the trash there and take to the Sea of Data. It's a common belief that the Slums are haunted, a belief that mostly existed among the uneducated and/or superstitious people. Beyond the Slums lies a desert where it's always daytime. The light reflected on the sand and the heat can make a unprepared person faint in a matter of minutes. Nothing much exists on the desert other than a few species animals and a maximum security prison of the Server. The desert true purpose is to be a natural barrier between the Server's population and the Sea of Data located beyond it.

Omni
The last Subframe to be created, and the only which was literally created. Unlike all other Frames, Omni is not an Lead Aoidos wired to OSSIA, but an AI created to emulate the Lead Aoidos Tune. The "body" of Omni is the Omnibrain, a sphere that's a hybrid between a computer system and a Tune Storage located in the core of the Mule Torus. Inside the Omnibrain exists all the data and programs needed for the Server to work properly and the Tune in it is created to emulate the Tune of an Aoidos. The Omnibrain "made" a Choral Pact with two Deiwos and now those Deiwos are trapped inside the sphere. The Omnibrain is in fact a short scale replica of the Pith of OSSIA. Omni's personality is based on the Father of Ossia himself, Orpheus, which was integrated into the Omnibrain by using scripted personality fragments, videos and annotations of Orpheus. Regardless, Omni is a simple AI unable to properly make the simplest rationalization. It's kept this was so that the scientists are able to control it. If allowed, Omni would be able to develop full sentience and would be a perfect digital copy of Orpheus.

Omni was created by a group of rogue scientists of OSSIA in secret to overthrown Etheria on the charge of the computer and take her place, leaving her only to be the memory space and power source for the computer. By giving Omni minimal sentience, the scientists are able to control it easily. If Omni even takes place of Etheria, the control of OSSIA will fall on the hand of the people, and the Frames will be slaves of the scientists. In the Frames hierarchy Omni is above the other Subframes but bellow Etheria, being able to control only 70% of OSSIA. Omni is, therefore, unable to delete the other Servers or cause major changes on OSSIA's system. Omni was one of the main reasons Etheria sacrificed her body and went into hiding during the Civil War. Currently Omni acts as a replacement of Etheria executing similar function to her, but unable to overthrown her due to her disappearance.

Omni's Etherial World is a recreation of the artificial environment inside the Mule Torus on a flat surface. His EW is basically a replica of Cavas' weather on the spring, being neither too hot nor to cold. The weather stays the same all year long, and the rains are regulated to optimize life and agriculture. The wildlife there is basically the same of Orchestra, with some species from Choro. The cities and villages inside the EW uses Orchestra's architecture. In other words, Omni's EW is a short scaled replica of Orchestra, with the only difference being the Axis Mundi that pierces the middle of the land and the deadly green waters of the Sea of Data located miles beyond the peaceful blue waters of this Server's coastline.

Sea of Data
A ocean of green water that circulates every Server's EW. Upon close examination one can notice the water shines, and can even notice it's not actual water, but some different substance made of glowing particles that are constantly mutating. The truth is that this ocean is made of disposable data of the Servers of OSSIA. The true nature of the Sea of Data is of OSSIA's trash bin; any unused data of the system gets thrown there to be eventually disposed. Almost anything that falls on the Sea is lost forever, including living beings. The Sea also acts as a separation of the EW, making it impossible for one to go from a EW to another without climbing the Axis Mundi. The "core" of the Sea of Data lies on Etheria's EW and it's a giant whirlpool that erases all data at its bottom. Etheria knew how dangerous was for anyone, including a Frame, to go into the Sea, so she sank her EW to its depths. Since her Server is the very system of OSSIA, it can't be deleted (or rather, thrown into the trash can), so the Sea of Data became it's hiding place, but not it's death bed. Most Servers have a natural barrier separating the habitable areas from the Sea of Data.

Axis Mundi
A giant and mysterious tower that cross every Server exactly on the middle from bellow the ground piercing the sky and it's the only thing connecting them. The Servers are, in fact, attached to the Tower like scaffolds. For some odd reason, the inside radios of the tower's floors is much bigger on the inside than on the outside. Once can say the inside of it exists on a separate "dimension" than the Servers. The truth of this breathtaking construction is that it's the very system of OSSIA, a "personification" of it inside the EW. Inside the Axis Mundi one can find important "facilities" that control OSSIA among other things. The tower is well guarded though, and climbing it is no easy task. First of all, to enter the tower one needs a Frame's clearance, and the place is well guarded by robots, AI, anti-viruses, traps, etc. But climbing the tower is, currently, the only mean to go from one Server to another. The "real home" of each Frame (the "facility" which they control) exists within the Tower and on its summit lies Omni, the glowing sphere-like Frame. The very base of the Axis Mundi used to be Etheria's Server, being that the tower is actually a prolongation of her world across OSSIA, but since she sank her world the base is now a ruined floor floating in the sky above the whirlpool of the Sea of Data. In this "base" is said to be located a secret entrance to her Server, but so far, no one ever found it, or even reached this base. The Axis Mundi layout of a tower high enough to pierce the skies was based on the Cerului Column by the developers of OSSIA.

A short story of how Babilos became the universal language of Rhapzodya. The first part is a myth and the second is actual history. The myth has some references to the Tower of Babel from the Bible, but the story of Babel and the story of Babilos goes on different directions.

[anchor]babimyth[/anchor]The Myth: A Misunderstanding and Ninhode's Quest

In a distant age, the people of Rhapzodya spoke many different languages and that made hard for them to understand each other. This also made difficult for the Aoidos to sing their beautiful Cantata, because no language in Rhapzodya was efficient enough for the Aoidos to summon the Songs that were born within their Tunes. And with was on this age that a young Aoidos named Ninhode was born.

Ninhode was from a village on the continent of Choro, located on the outskirts of Fliorésta Muir, and he was the child of a wise linguist who studied ways to create a language that would be effectively sung by the Aoidos. Even though none of the languages his father created were powerful enough, they were the best when it comes to draw a song out of an Aoidos Tune so his father was always held in high regards by the people of the village. Even as a teenager, Ninhode was the best Aoidos on the region. And when he was 23, his powers were put to test.

The town neighbor to Ninhode's village was ruled by a tyrant King famous for punishing people over the smallest things. The towns had little interaction between each other, but due to have the same origins they shared a similar, but not the same, language. The towns were in peace with each other, but one day the King and his wife traveled to Ninhode's town and to welcome then a feast was thrown. Everyone on the village was invited including Ninhode's father and himself. The feast was amazing, filled with delicious food and drinks, great music and dance.

But during one dance, the Queen's dress got ripped and neither her or the kind noticed but everyone else did. No one had the courage to warn the Queen about the embarrassment she was going through so the feast continued until the time of toast made for the King came. Everyone was holding their laughs inside their mouths during the whole toast, and the King noticed so when the toast was finished he asked what was wrong. No one had the courage to answer, no one but the brave and slightly mischievous Ninhode.

"Tui karali jo Nomeio serea gazali nana ianarupe" he said. "The Magesty's dress is ripped on the behind". That sounded as polite as possible on his village's dialect, but on the King's dialect that was actually offensive. But the King did not know who had answered so he demanded to know who did. As Ninhode was about to stand up, his father realized Ninhode's mistake and stood up first. The King was angered by such offense and ordered the man to be arrested. But Ninhode was brave and fought the guards that tried to take his dad using the songs on the language his father made. They were powerful enough to defeat the some of the guards but they were to many, so Ninhode was captured. His father reasoned with the King was taken on Ninhode's place to take punishment, the village was conquered by the King and Ninhode was exiled from the it. But he was determined to fix his mistakes.

It was already 2 weeks since he left his village when, during a dream, he was visited by an entity. That entity was what the Aoidos call Deiwos. The Deiwos spoke with Ninhode in his dream, and the language it spoke was like none other the boy ever heard, but he still could understand what the Deiwos was saying. It said:

"Ninhode, We have listened to thy songs and We enjoyed it. And for that We desire to make a Pact with thee, but first, thou must prove thyself worth of our power. On the South lies the great Bavil Tower, so tall that it can touch the sky. Atop that Tower is where We sit. Travel to this Tower and climb it, and We will grant to thee our power and the salvation of thy father."

When Ninhode woke the next day he couldn't know whether the dream was real or not, but he had to take his chances so he traveled south. He spent days walking and when he was about to give up he spotted it in the horizon. It was just a faint line, but it was so tall it seemed to touch the sky. As he approached, the line became thicker and thicker until it could be easily recognized as a tower. He finally reached its base, and it was indeed the Bavil Tower. And he started the climbing.

The climbing took one and a half month and when he finally reached the top of the Tower the sky was no longer blue and Rhapzodya could no longer be seeing. And atop the Tower there was a huge throne. He approached the throne and something appeared in it. It was the Deiwos on his dream. It was majestic and one could sense the power it had just by standing near it. The Deiwos gently smiled at Ninhode and said, or sang, Ninhode couldn't tell, with its beautiful voices and on that strange language:

"Oh Ninhode. Thou climbest all the way up here and for that thou is worth of our power. our name is Babil and We bestow to thee our Choral Pact, but under once condition. We look upon the World and see people suffering, unable to understand each other. Misunderstands that lead to war or to cases like the one of thy father. And for that, We desire to unify this World with a single language. our name is Babil and We are the Guardian of the sacred language of the Deiwos, Babilos. The language that bestow our song with magnificent power so will bestow the World witch such power. We shall teach thee Babilos and thou shall spread it through Rhapzodya. But the humans are unable to learn Babilos as us Deiwos speak it, so thy task is to create a Babilos that the people can speak, based on the Babilos We Deiwos speak, and this Babilos should bestow the Aoidos of the World the true power that dwells within then. If thou are able to do so, and also be able to spread the new language through the World, We shall release thy father and free thy village from the tyrant King."

And so Ninhode did. As he climbed down the Tower he started to modify the language that Babil taught him in a language that the people of the world would be able to learn using the linguistic skills he learned from his father. And when he finally reached the base he had it complete. He then traveled around the world.

On each town or tribe he arrived he would teach the people that new language, a language the allowed the Aoidos to draw their full power. Many people refused this new language, but once most humans tribes spoke it and it proved efficient for the goal of the Aoidos, the language quickly spread naturally across the land. And quickly and naturally, the language spread through all Rhapzodya. This language was called Traditional Babilos.

And Ninhode's work was done in less than ten years. The last village left for him to teach Babilos was his own village and when he arrived, it was no longer a village. It was a big town, that prospered under the rules of the tyrant King. But the people in it was sad and suffering under the King's rule. So Ninhode entered the village and challenged the King who was also an Aoidos.

The King was confident of his abilities, since he forced Ninhode's father to create a language that would allow him to become the most powerful Aoidos of the region. But what he didn't know was that Ninhode had the Babilos. Using Traditional Babilos to sing his Cantatas he was able to defeat the King. But the King wouldn't let Ninhode win and ordered the village to be destroyed. But before any guard could take action, Ninhode summoned the power of Babil through a Symphony, and, just as the Deiwos promised him, it descended to help Ninhode and together they defeated the King's army, freed the village and Ninhode's father.

Since then, Traditional Babilos became the universal language among the humans of Rhapzodya, spoken by 90% of the humans of the world. It also become the most effective language for Aoidos to sing their Cantatas at full power, and it still is.

[anchor]babihist[/anchor]The History: The Council of Nations and Races and Vulgar Babilos, the Universal Language of all Races.
The Great War of Nations had just ended with the creation of the Great Council of Nations and Races, the neutral faction created to ensure peace between the Nations on Rhapzodya. But a problem still ensued: the Nations were having trouble to understand each other due to the the different languages they spoke. To solve the problem, the Council created a branch called Linguistic Association of Rhapzodya. The Association was comprised of the best linguists of each race and Nation. Their objective was to create a language that could be spoken and understood by every single person on Rhapzodya.

After many months of discussion, they finally reached a solution. They choose to use the Traditional Babilos as the language. Since Babilos was already spoken by all humans of Rhapzodya while the Fay and Amusia languages had many branches and dialects, universalizing Babilos would be a easier. And in less than two decades, Traditional Babilos was taught in every school of every Nation and already 70% of the world's population spoke it.

But Traditional Babilos had a major flaw: most of its grammar was directed to singing Cantatas, so they were somewhat useless in everyday talk, which turned Traditional Babilos rather unpractical when it came to speaking. And thanks to this that the Fay and Amusia often choose to use their own languages instead of using Babilos for everyday speaking. The Fay did benefited from the Babilos since it enhanced their magic a little, but such benefit wasn't enough to make Babilos their main language. Little by little Traditional Babilos started to be put aside. 70% of the population new how to speak it, but less than 30% choose to use it. And these numbers began to drop more and more since the contact between races made the humans start to choose other languages over their own. After a century since Traditional Babilos was choose to be the universal language, the language was no lunger serving to the Linguistic Association's purpose.

To revert the situation the Association made a drastic move, but gladly, the move succeed. The solution they found was the creation of a new language. Using Traditional Babilos as base, they borrowed some grammar rules and vocabulary of other idioms spoken by the people of Rhapzodya and "cleaned" the Traditional Babilos, completely removing it from the Cantata purpose it had. The new Babilos born was completely devoid of any Tune manipulation and couldn't summon any noticeable magical power, but it was an efficient language for speaking. This new Babilos would be called Vulgar Babilos, the People Language. This new language was welcomed by every Nation on Rhapzodya, but some people saw it as "crude and unelegant", and choose to stay with Traditional Babilos.

Vulgar Babilos still is the Universal Language of Rhapzodya and is spoken by nearly everyone. Traditional Babilos became a language used only by the Aoidos, some Fay and high class people who consider this language beautiful and divine, in contrast with Vulgar Babilos. And, as the only downside of Babilo, other languages quickly fell in disuse and most of them would be extinct if it weren't for the efforts of the Linguistic Association of Rhapzodya to preserve all these languages.
