--- Liliana ---

The little extra I asked for was confirmed, additional books would most definitely ease my mind off boredom as I would be undoubtedly confined in my room. I simply nodded in thanks as the lady gestured for both myself as well as the forgotten to follow. There were no objections from me as I simply followed the elder lady, while Ilsa does so as well behind me, as if a little wary. Soon enough, we reached the destination of our rooms, to which I took interest only in my own.

Jealousy somehow managed to crawl up from within me.

"Wow... smaller yet vastly better than our home, with some touch of bearable sense as well." Gau's comment explained my thoughts, not minding that little addition at the end. The bed, the television, the wood, all is truly better than what I have in my meager apartment back in Erdut.

All the more, this also gave me satisfaction as the books and papers are already arranged, with an added bonus of a dummy as well.

Finished with the introductions of our rooms, the elder walks past us and took her leave, to which I returned with a thankful bow for the arrangements as she left through the same profound way she came from. The other one called by her majesty, Ilsa, took a yawn as she retreated into her assigned room, to which I did the same to my respective own. Going past the door and closing it behind, Gau took its own initiative and settled on the bed.

Sighing deeply, I removed my boots and socks, then kept my coat over a hangar and used it to place my ushanka as well. With light steps, I walk over to the bed to loosen the top few buttons of my shirt as my body is starting to relax after my long trip to where I am now. Also removing my pants and loosening my hair to completely feel the relaxation, I threw my body on to the sheets of the bed as Gau continued to frolic about the pillow.

So much happened in such a short moment, getting called by the queen, traveling away from my land.

I raised my hand up and stared at it, within is the pact I made with the queen, she gave me the best for my kind to live with.

What would my best be then? What I can do?

A good five minutes pass without my body moving as I grunted upon sitting up. I surveyed across the room, taking note of the showers and the desk. I also checked on where Gau is, finding her looking through the books in uncommon silence. To freshen up myself before sleep, I should arrange my clothes neatly and take a shower before getting an early rest. I proceeded with removing the rest of my clothes and undergarments while ruffling my dark red hair. Placing the folded clothes on the side, I proceeded to the bathroom in full nude, stepping in but pausing as I find a mirror.

Reflecting is my young form that is locked in time.

My body that is of a race shunned by many.

Would I say that this is one of the benefits? Either ways, I still am too short for my visual age, fun to realize.

Dispelling the pause and thoughts, I continued with the warm shower than washed away the day's travel and work. The liquid that washes over my body also made me think of a new path I am about to head. After all, I broke away from my coven in a whim to follow her majesty.

Thinking back, it is almost too haste of a choice, but from her majesty's words, this shall only happen once.

~

Already wiped my body dry after the shower, I have no clothes for sleep as I came empty. Probably some time the next morning, I would have to request some additional clothes. Covering my body with the blanket that was over the bed, I leaned back against the pillow.

Gau is still reading the papers and books, which piqued my interest.

"You seem interested in the books, Gau." I asked the oddly silent arcanus of mine.

"Well, I would say that these books are definitely good, you might really, really want to look through them."

For Gau to say that, then the books must be written of content quality than what I had before as well.

"Not now, I had plenty of travel time today and need an early rest. Therefore... if you may, Gau."

"A good night kiss~?"

"Just shut up."

Gau simply responded with a chuckle as a rolled over in the bed, turning off the lights to fill the room in darkness. Slowly, I closed my eyes and hope for an early rise to follow as well the next day.

Cold. That was my first impression at the port but at the least we have finally reached Tolray.

"The airport is at the other side of the dam."

"Huh, so this ice wall... is in fact a dam?"

"Yes, in fact, the main part of Tolray is up there, at the summit of the dam. This port is merely the tip of an iceberg... in a way literally. We still have to climb the dam, no real way around it."

"I guess... how tall and thick is it really?"

"Hmm... Maybe about five hundred meters tall and six thousand meters thick. Yep around that much."

"I wonder how many fishes we can get in it.", Great... this is the first time she had spoken after a long while.. and it just had to be about fishes... guess she really loves it.

"I doubt there is any fish that lives inside ice."

"Eh? Fish? What are you talking about, Kunagi?", I noticed Lymselia looking at me, confused.

"Nothing.", I went silent and so did Lymselia.

Soon we were at the edge of the dam, It certainly is tall. I wondered how long would it take and not to mention my legs are still stiff due to the amount of time I spent seating on the submarine.

"Elevator or Stairs?", I immediately did a bit of stretching to loosen my muscle a bit.

"Stairs. I definitely can use some exercise.", I nodded to Lymselia and she did the same in approval.

Soon we started to climb up towards the summit of the dam.

When the manager heard Brae voicing a question, he flew back up to her. "Yes, you will," he replied. "If you don't mind the lack of privacy, that is. This line was specially designed so you can communicate with me, and while I would be able to transfer the call to your brother, as per orders from above, I'd have to stay listening to the entire conversation."

He bowed solemnly and spoke in whispers, looking around to make sure no one was hearing. "For you see, bela senhorita, Our Majesty may be young, but never mistake her for careless or naive.

"Is that all, Miss?"

------------------------ Ilsa ------------------------
The voice on the other side of the line spoke, and Ilsa would have unmistakably recognize the owner as the old lady that escorted her. "Right away, dear."

And, as if those words were an enchantment, a hissing, unnatural sound came from behind Ilsa's back and the requested clothes were patiently waiting for her on the bed, neatly washed and folded. "I also took the liberty to take the clothes you were wearing previously to be washed," the lady spoke, and true to her words, the pile of dirty clothes was gone.

"As for the movie, you'll find that you have a variety of channels featuring all kinds of movies, all for free, in your TV. However, if you happen to not find yourself satisfied, I can arrange something for you. Just call me.

"And for your dinner, would a turkey breast sandwich suffice? This close to Trinitas, we happen to have plenty of turkey meat around."

"That's rather outrageous thing to do, isn't it?" I smirked.

I especially hate if someone eavesdrop on my and Lux's talk. This is because what we shares mostly something that is very personal in nature... Sometimes it would be Lèse-majesté in nature in case of Lux, which could breach into atheism and blasphemy at the same reason. However, the road we choose would most likely delves further into this. Our enemies might will take many possible ways to foil our plan. However... I forgot her age and her status as the avatar. I forgot taking it into account.

I feel my annoyance slowly vanish like vapor. I turned my gaze somewhere else. It felt so... embarrassing...

"...I understand," I smiled sadly. "I don't know what kind of life she's having, but to have such responsibility at that age... While I think it'll be too daring to put myself in her shoes, if I'm in her spot, I'll be doing the same. Thank you very much, senhor manager."

I fly to my room and sit on the bed.

------------------------ Kunagi & Lymselia ------------------------
The port and the way up the Dam was filled with vendors and shops, mostly improvised stands in the slope. Most of those sold foods (with dubious hygiene standards) typical to Tolray, such as fish that came from the fort, strange thorny fruits of dark colors, some even black, and of course, ice cream and slush ice. Despite the cold, many people were seeing enjoying a cup of slush, most of them in dark colors too, probably because they came from the strange fruits.

"Come, come! Free sample for tourists!" the voice on one of the stands shout. "Come taste our Hag's Heart Slush and popsicle!" he called. Obviously, by the color of the slush and ice creams he sold, the Hag Heart was the name of that strange fruit. A bird-like Mythos got one of the free samples Hag's Heart Ice Cream, and after licking it for the first time, he grimaced and spat, calling out profanities at the vendor. "Can't stand the sour love of the Hag, can ye, mate?" the vendor replied laughing, as the bird-man flew away.

On another stand, there was a 2 meters long tentacle, 30 centimeters thick on one end and covered in a suspicious slime. It released the most foul stench that the girls ever had the misfortune to smell. "Fresh young kraken tentacle! Right from the port! Come have a piece. 7 UIC the pound!" the Ondine girl called. Unlike Lymselia, this Ondine was more icy, having her hair shaped like a snow flake and a skin that looked as if made of ice.

One stand sold jewelry and gemstones. But on closer look, one could see that those were fake, made of plastic or glass. Another stand next to this one sold low grade Arcanites, such as Lucecite that flickered with a dying light or Flamecites that barely produced heat.

Up on the Dam, it was completely different. Many markets popped up here and there in the city around the keep, and various shops were around. A café filled with costumers released a pleasant smell that would make anyone forget the foul stench of the kraken's tentacle. Inside, many costumers enjoyed a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate to warm themselves, but here and there someone could be seen enjoying that same dark colored slush that was sold on the climbing. And next to it, an uncommon sight in the secluded continent of Ganedhen An Asian restaurant specialized in Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Thai food had its doors open, welcoming the starving travelers. Such sight was something almost unique to port cities, as the regions more in the interior of the floating land would be less welcoming to foreign culture.

A few weapon shops were seem around and even an armor shop was among them. However, the armor shop's door was closed and the sign read "Closed for Renovations". And true to the sign, the inside was a mess of rubble and paint cans. The weapon shops, however, were open. One was called "The Dam's Defender" and it apparently had a 20% off sale on axes. Its competitor, the "Hunter's Resort" specialized on guns and bows.

And on the other side of the keep, located just a few blocks from the Airport, the girls would come across a Spell Shop, with its interior filled with incenses and candles, Arcanites and strange powders, herbs and dried body parts from the most varied collection of creatures. Not only it sold spells, but also wands, staves and Grimoire.

I and Lymselia continued climbing up the dam until I smelled something really foul. My nose literally went haywire due to it.

"Oh young Kraken tentacles. They still sell those these days!", Lymselia proceeded to run off and heads to it while I could only look towards the side and noticed a mythos flying away.

Hag's Heart Slush and popsicle... I wonder. I approached and proceed to take a free sample and licked it.

Okay, bad idea. I could only smile bitterly to the vendor as I bowed towards him before walking away. The foul stench suddenly got worse as Lymselia returned to me, carrying a package filled with...tentacles.

"I bought two pounds of Kraken Tentacles!. Here, take a bite!!", Before I could object, Lymselia stuffed a thin slice of the foul smelling tentacle into my mouth.

I immediately felt nauseatic due to the combination of that sample and the taste of the tentacle. I could only excuse myself from Lymselia and ran towards an empty secluded corner and vomitted.

After that embarassing moment, I was still feeling nauseatic and could only return to Lymsleia.

"Eh... what's wrong?"

"Lymselia, please do me a favor. Put those tentacles away...I don't care how, But I don't want you close to me as long as I can smell it.", I walked ahead, not caring anymore. Fortunately, Lymselia seemed to follow my request as the smell is not so bad anymore.

We continued our climb and soon enough, we reached the top of the dam. It is like heaven and hell in comparison to what I had to endure on our way up.

"Well then... we can head towards the airport now or maybe we can eat first."

I gave a quick glance around the area. The restaurants seemed to be nice... but after all that, I just don't want to consume anything for awhile.

"How about the weapon shop? We haven't really brought any weapon with us and considering the queen's tone. It may be good for us to bring some additional measures."

------------------------ Lymselia ------------------------

True enough. It might be good to have a weapon...

"Sure. Although I think I prefer something else. Magical things.",Kunagi nodded to me as she looked towards the weapon shops one more time before proceeding to follow me as I walked away.

After awhile, We stumbled upon a Spell shop close to our destination. The place seemed interesting enough and spells is good for me. I should give it a shot then.

"I think I will take a look here."

"Very well then, I think I should go to the weapon shops then. We should meet up here later on.", I nodded in agreement as Kunagi left while I started to look around inside the Spell shop.

------------------------ Kunagi ------------------------
The weapon shop greeted the wolfgirl with a display of ranged weapons of various kinds and sizes hanging on the walls. Some were very simple, fashioned just for the purpose of serving as bows and guns. Others were highly stylized, painted with the most various colors, smithed from all kinds of metals and in the most perculiar shapes. Whether those weapons would actually serve their purpose in battle or were merely for show would be impossible to tell by a layman.

The clerk, a androgynous icy Ondine dressed in various furs, eyed the Kunagi with suspicion, before greeting her with the usual shopkeeper fake smile. "Welcome to the 'Hunter's Resort'. How may I assist you? Could you please put your Omniglass in the scanner so I may know your Weapon Proficiency license?" the clerk asked, guiding Kunagi to the device that looked was a glass plate with circuits. Right after Kunagi put her hands in it, the shop's selection would appear on an holography, with a description of each item, their price and an image. It only showed Novice-ranked weapons.

Weapons

  • High-Pressure Handgun
    [Novice]
    Selling Price: 180 UIC
A gun that does not use bullets, instead shooting a gust of air that is produced under high-pressure with the purpose of disorienting the foe. While not very powerful and possessing a mild range, the box warns that it's not a toy and that shooting repeatedly, at close range or in soft parts of the body and head may cause serious injuries.
    Effect: Deals Sky damage.
    ATK Level = 2 MAG Level = 0 INT Level = 0 SPD Level= 2

  • Wooden Bow
    [Novice]
    Selling Price: 250 UIC
A bow made of wood. While it's a simple weapon, it's sturdy and well crafted, created for the purpose of hunting small animals. Its enchanted string produces a wooden arrow when pulled, making unecessary that the archer carries a quiver or buy arrows.
    ATK Level = 3 MAG Level = 0 INT Level = 0 SPD Level= 3

  • Wooden Crossow
    [Novice]
    Selling Price: 420 UIC
A crossbow made of wood, created by the skilled hands of an artisan. It's used for hunting. It's enchanted so that it conjures a bolt when cocked, but the size, weight and clumsimness of the weapon makes it slow.
    ATK Level = 4 MAG Level = 0 INT Level = 0 SPD Level= 1

------------------------ Lymselia ------------------------
The mixed smells of the incenses, scented candles and various herbs and powders were the first thing that hit Lymselia when she entered the Spell Shop. The place glimmered with all the magical crystals of various colors on display behind the glass cases. They each had a small plate in front of them that indicated what spell they were. And above the case, a larger plate showed the writings "Household Spells" or "Battlemagic" depending on the types of spells in contained. The cases were also sorted by their spell's element and trait.

The spell shop was seemingly unnatended. Behind the empty counter, a display of wands and staves of various sizes hanged on the wall. Some of those artifacts had a faint aura of magical power and llyswennod could feel that the entire shop was charged with magical energy of various kinds as expected from a spell shop.

Suddenly and without warning, a slim figure walked out of a dark corner of the shop behind the counter. It was more as if it had produced itself from the shadows themselves rather than just coming out of hiding, for the person that now stood behind the counter was a Umbra, pitch black, slim, with long limbs and a physical texture that didn't seem to maintain itself for long, shifting and changing as the Natura moved. A three-dimensional shadow person.

"Welcome to my humble shop, Ondine," she spoke in a mysterious, mystical tone, despite the voice's feminine timbre. "I'm sorry, but we are out of Household Spells with the holidays and all. The next stock will only arrive after the holidays. But would you like to see our display of weapons and Battlemagic?" he asked, gently holding Lymselia's hand and putting it in the scanner at the counter. The holographic display appeared immediately.

Weapons

  • Beginner's Staff
    [Novice]
    Selling Price: 100 UIC
A cheap staff used by magicians who are still new to the ways of magic. It is crude and poorly made, and the magic it holds is fairly minimal. It actually looks like the rotten branch of a dying tree that fell of and was turned into a staff.
    ATK Level = 1 MAG Level = 1 INT Level = 0 SPD Level= 1

  • Twig Wand
    [Novice]
    Selling Price: 140 UIC
A wand made of a twig that was found lying under a tree. It's weak, cheap and easy to use. Perfect for someone who never handled a wand before.
Effect: Small chance of inducing Poison on the target that will last for a few minutes.
    ATK Level = 1 MAG Level = 1 INT Level = 0 SPD Level= 1

Spells

  • Dam of Tolray
    Element: Ocean
    Trait: Construction
    Selling Price: 4000 UIC
Effect: This spell summons a miniature version of Tolray's Dam, which can be used for cover and protection from attacks.

  • Glacial Hearbeat
    Element: Ocean
    Trait: Destruction
    Selling Price: 13000 UIC
Effect: Emulating the powers of the Glacial Hearts, the caster takes the role of the powerful artifact, releasing a cold wave that freezes everything around the magician.

  • Icicle Rain
    Element: Ocean
    Trait: Construction
    Selling Price: 9000 UIC
Effect: Summons thousands of icicles upon a location, that rain down in a storm of cold and havoc.

  • Veil of Somnus
    Element: Night
    Trait: Degeneration
    Selling Price: 3500 UIC
Effect: Covers the target in a veil of darkness that induces sleep.

A handgun, a bow and a crossbow. This is a 'Hunter's Resort' after all. I inspected the description of the weapons for awhile.

I was tempted with the sheer capability that the crossbow can offer but it is not really versatile which puts me off. That left me with the Handgun , Bow or none at all. The bow soon caught my attention. I felt a sense of familiarity... A memory from long ago in that place... ugh... why am i even thinking about it now. I proceeded to shake my head but my choice is now clear as then I gazed towards the Ondine clerk in front of me.

" I would like to take the wooden bow please."

Not long after, I left the Hunter's resort with the new wooden bow strapped on my back then I started walking back towards the spell shop to meet up with Lymselia.

------------------------ Lymselia ------------------------

I smiled at the Umbra clerk as soon I inspected the goods that she is selling. The lack of the household spells made it less fun but I guess I won't be able to use it anytime soon anyway.A staff or a wand... hmmm... Interesting I suppose.

"Choose the staff... It fits you the most.", Great... Ilyswennod returns. I could only shake my head as her figure slithered around me.

I shifted my attention towards the spells. All of them were very appealing to me especially The Glacial Heartbeat. But real experience is an undeniable truth. I am not good with destructive trait. I reluctantly excluded glacial heartbeat from my choices.

After awhile, I chosen the Dam of Tolray, a supportive spell from what I see and its price was pretty affordable too. As for weapon, I suppose...It is okay to succumb to Ilyswennod 'advice' at times.

"May I take the Beginner's Staff and the spell Dam of Tolray?", I nodded to the Umbra clerk to confirm my choices.

I was strapping the staff to my back after accepting it and the spell when Kunagi called for me just outside the spell shop. I hurriedly finished strapping the staff before bowing to the clerk and leaves.

I noticed a wooden bow strapped on kunagi's back. It is a bit unlike her to buy a ranged weapon.

"A bow? I thought you are the one who prefer close range combat?"

"Just as a failsafe. We can't really expect to be in close range combat all the time. This will come in handy during those time. More than that, I see you have bought a staff"

"Ahh yes. I also bought a spell too. I will be capable in constructing a miniature dam similar to this dam!"

"That sounds great, for how much?" "4000 UIC"

A moment of silence ensued as I could feel Kunagi gazing deep towards me.

"Anyway we should head to the airport.", We nodded towards each other before proceeding to head straight towards the Airport.

Just who is this girl, exactly? I asked her a question but instead of answering it she kept rambling on and on. What is she even talking about?

"This frozen stadium will soon draw some unwanted attention so we better settle this matter quickly. Shall we sit and talk, Andry, Vorombola?"

Out of nowhere now I see a table with candles on it. I came and sat on the opposite end of the table as she instructed. Of course, I made sure to be as cautious as possible, as she continued on with her ramblings. I'm still not quite sure what that was all about but from it at least I kinda got it that she's a person of quite a high standing. A Royalty maybe? What does someone like that want from me?

"Tell me, are you still surprised that I can see Vorombola and you can't see my Arcanus?"

"Yeah." I answered, giving her a suspecting look. "What's the deal with that?"

------------------------ Kunagi & Lymselia ------------------------
Once the weapons were purchased, they were magically transferred to the girls' Omniglass Storage Device. All they needed to do was equip it when the weapons became necessary. The spell was different, however.

The Umbra Clerk walked over to one of the glass displays and touched it. A glyph of light, indicating a seal, appeared on the glass when her dark hands touched it. "Spells can't be digitalized, so we need to take extra protective measures," she said. Then, she muttered a few inaudible words and both the seal and the glass undulated, as if they had become liquid and the touch of the hand produced a wave. Once the wavery motion stopped, the clerk's hand went through the glass, as if it was indeed a shadow. She reached carefully for a crystal with a milky blue glow, that fit perfectly on her palm, and removed it from the display. She handled it over to the Ondine and when Lymselia's hands approached it to take it, the crystal floated and was surrounded by a sphere of sigils and glyphs. "This is now rightfully yours, to keep or to give." When the clerk spoke that spell, the sigils changed colors and the sphere spun quickly and stopped.

"The transaction is completed, Ondine," she said, her mysterious tone of voice never failing. "It seems to be your first time purchasing magic, so I'll teach you how do use an Incantocite. It's quite simple. All you need to do is let the crystal touch your Arcanus, and then the knowledge it contains will be absorbed by your familiar and transferred to you. And the spell shall be yours to use," then she bowed silightly. "Fare thee well, Ondine, and may the Trinity Goddess cast Her magic upon your journey."

----

The airport stood out against the icy landscape of teh Dam. It was a relatively new metal structure, built over the old airforce base that protected the edge of Nari on old times. Parts of the old base could still be seen, but of the place was new and looking similar to the modern airports around the world.

When the girls crossed the gate to the main lobby, they were approached by a woman wearing the airport's staff uniform. She looked human, but her abnormously pale skin and the fangs that appeared when she smiled made it clear she was a Vladescu. "You must be Kunagi and Lymselia! Well, you are the only wolf-Mythos and Ondine that have walked in together, and the description matches," she said cheerly, that last part more to herself than to the girls. "I'll be taking you to your airship. Your tickets were already paid for by an anonymous person. Please, follow me."

The airship she took the two travelers was quite small, being probably an economic class airship. The seats were nowhere as comfortable as the submarine's, nor did it offer as much services. But they would soon find out the airship was quite fast. "Buckle you seatbelts and prepare for the Drop," the voice in the intercom said. After everything was secured, the ship slowly moved forward and suddenly it suddenly lunged down, descending in a vertical line towards the Pacific Ocean bellow Ganedhen. Through the window, the could see the vertical wall of ice that was the Dam, suddenly replaced by earth with glowing crystals coming out of it, the soil of Ganedhen rich in Gravigems.

As if drawing velocity from the gravitational pull of the larger Gravigem crystals, the airship speeded up quickly and suddenly went up in a parabolic motion. It flew up way higher than the Dam and fixeded itself on a straight line towards the horizon, facing Ganedhen's center. "Sorry about that, but it saves fuel. You'll be arriving at Polis of Aeolia in about 2 hours. Enjoy the ride," the pilot's voice echoed from the intercom.

----

True to the pilot's words, the ship approached the Island of Aeolia in almost the timespam of two hours. Looking from above, one couldn't even imagine that the enormous island floating in the center of Ganedhen was man-made, for its soil looked exactly like the rest of the continent. But every Natura born and raised in Ganedhen, and everyone in the Kingdom that payed attention to their History classes would know that such island did not exist until recently after the World Wars when the Treaty of Magician Commonwealthes was signed by the Natura of Ganedhen and the ever-warring feif were unified under the Polis. The island was created through the combined effots and magic if the fief and the Kingdom and the Polis of Aeolia was erected in its center, a perfect circle limited by the Wall and divided into 16 districts, like slices of a pizza. The surrounding regions of the Island became places of farming and industrial cities, filled with villages and small towns.

Outside the futuristic looking aiport of Aeolia, the city greeted its visitors with an archiecture that reflect the city's symbol of the fief unification. Buildigs were made of shells and ice, others were carved in stone, some glowed with a natural luminescence, others were pitch black and cast unnatural shadows. Some buildings were made of forged and melted iron, others made of more crude metal had towers over them that appeared to be lightning rods that sparkled with eletricity, some buildings were floated and were shaped like windmills that harnessed (or perhaps produced) the power of wind, other buildings were carved inside enormous tree. There were even buildings that were an amalgamation of all that, a beautiful architectural Frankenstein Monster of the elements. Only one thing was clear, Aeolia combined the colors of Day, Night, Sky, Mountain, Storm, Forest, Ocean and Sun in a single canvas, painting the most breathtaking image. A place full of nature, as fitting of the Natura.

The Omniglass map showed with the aerial view of the city from the airship had already made clear: Aeolia was shaped like a circle sliced inm 16 like a pizza. Each districed was named after a fee in Ganedhen, with districts of the same Element located opposing each other in the circle. In the center of the circle was the Council of Elders, who ruled the Polis and, at some extent, all Ganedhen. The map also showed that the "The Fleeting Wind" hotel was located at the Salvelive District, which was populated mostly by Sylph Natura, and its architecture reflected its namesake fee, for the district was filled with windmill-like houses. The hotel itself, the two women would see, was a tall windmill itself.

------------------------ Andriniainampoinimerina ------------------------
"Yeah." I answers, giving me a suspicious look, which I can only find cute and funny when combined with his fluffy ears. "What's the deal with that?"

As his finishes his question, the glamour I've cast upon myself wears off completly. My hair is back to its pink tint and my skin is back to its milk-white color and delicate texture. I giggle at his question, unable to contain myself. "I'm sorry for my rudeness, but your obliviousness is quite amusing. I'm not used with such reaction. As I'm sure you'd too, if some Proellium enthusiast did not recognize you for your own efforts... or for being your father's child. But I'm sure Ms Vorombola already understood it all as it would be for any Arcanus," I smile at the peahen, nodding a greeting. "The reason you can't see my Arcanus and I can see Vorombola is, well," at this point, my outfit magically changes to the royal dress I usually wear of white and diamonds. The diamond crown materilizes on my lap, I pick it and put over my head. "Because the Queen of Magic has none. I am Lizbeth of Caliburn and it's pleasure to meet you, Mr Andriniainampoinimerina.

"I'm sure you must be confused to why I'm here. Unfortunately, I'm not here to hire you to a Britannian Proelium team of the major leagues... I fear that my needs of you and Vorombola are much somber."
I frown and look at the boy in the eyes, for that's what he is, just a boy three years older than me. A boy with goals and dreams, that wishes to become a great player. But with the world approaching dark times with such steadiness, boys and girls have to grow quickly. Pushing these thoughts away, I shift my gaze to Vorombola. "As Queen of Magic, I have little to no authority over you, Mr Andriniainampoinimerina, but as Gran Arcanus and Avatar of the Trinity Goddess, I rule over every Arcani. And that's why I'm here to request Vorombola's help, and, by extent, yours."

I look back at the Mythos in front of me. I can't help but stare at his fluffy ears, before looking back at his eyes. "I've been observing you and your matches. You are a great player, quick, strong, fit, dexterious with your magic, accurate with your aim, capable of working in team, following orders, giving orders, . Did you know, Mr. Andriniainampoinimerina, that Proelium actually involved from a form of combat from the Medieval Ages? Back then, a Proelium match would be a fight to death, and the players, enemies from opposing factions. There were even wars that were settled in a Proelium match between kings. After all, "proelium" means combat. Therefore, it's not a coincidence that the characteristec I just listed you have are also the charateristics one would look in an warrior.

"For the many years you've been training and playing Proelium, you were unknowingly being shaped into a warrior. But you have something more, something that makes you stand out among your teammates and many other Proelium players. You have an innate talent that allows you to grow and become much stronger than you already are, capable of not just becoming warrior, but a great warrior. And that's what I need right now, what the world needs: great warriors. For an era of darkness is approaching,"
I frown again at that last sentence, and reach for his hands, grabbing them gently. "But before I make my request, Mr. Andriniainampoinimerina, allow me to ask you this question: would you be willing to let go of your own dream for the sake of another's?"

--- Andry ---

"The reason you can't see my Arcanus and I can see Vorombola is, well," she said, as her outfit started to magically change into something a royalty would wear.

"... Holy crap, don't tell me you're--!!"

"Because the Queen of Magic has none. I am Lizbeth of Caliburn and it's pleasure to meet you, Mr Andriniainampoinimerina."

"...." I stood there dumbfounded for a second. "...W-W-Wh-where are my manners!? No, no! It is MY pleasure to see you face to face, Your Majesty!"

I was right. Seriously? Why would the great Queen want something to do with me? Why is she even here?! I kept fighting my confusion in my head as I listened to her continuing her introduction. She then explained further about why she's here. Well, that at least answered one of my questions, but to be honest I didn't completely understand all of it. Though it seems she needed Vorombola's and my help.

On top of that she also started praising me for my skills in Proelium.

"I-I... I reallv don't know what to say. I'm very honored that the no.1 person in the world actually know me! Words cannot express my excitement, Your Majesty!"

--- Vorombola ---

My partner just stood there like a fool. Acting and answering things very awkwardly. He looks so stupid. Even though everything happened around him like this. Even though he was just a few miliseconds away from dying earlier. Even thouh The Queen had presented herself so gracefully in front of him. Even though the old man was still clinging onto something invisible because he went away from there like that.

'No kidding... to think the Queen herself was one of my fans! Heheh...'

I know what you're thinking. I can read you like a book. Does he not feel ashamed for having such dumb thoughts? Is that really the kind of thing you should think about in your mind when you meet a Queen. Hey, it's the Queen!

"But... me? A warrior? Why me?"

I can see both amazement and surprise on Andry"s face. But the most apparent rmotion one could easily spot from him is obviously nervousness. He usually handles crowds and fans fairly okay. A bit overconfident, even. That confidence is still nothing in front of Her Majesty, it seems.

Come to think of it, I already know how he is going to respond to all of this. He gets very excited easily and if something like this didn't excite him I"m not sure what would. There's no way you're going to let go of such an event. You would grab this opportunity because you can already see a life full of adventure in front of you. Wouldn't you?

"But before I make my request, Mr. Andriniainampoinimerina, allow me to ask you this question: would you be willing to let go of your own dream for the sake of another's?"

There it comes. So, what would it be, Andry?

".... I" He closed his ezes for a moment, and opened it again quickly as he stared into the Queen. "... would!"

".... I," my hears skips a bit at the anticipation of his answer. "... would!"

I smile warmly and truthfully. I can see through Vorombola's demeanor that he speaks sincere. "I'm glad. Selflessness is a great virtue, one that every great knight should have," I gesture with my hands and a small glowing orb appears on the table. "The reasons I'm here, Ms Vorombola, Mr Andriniainampoinimerina, is because the Kingdom is in great peril. Day by day, my political influence grows weaker and power is amassing at the hand of those who wish to bring the UK to ruins, both inside and outside the Kingdom. I fear that a war will break sooner or later. Because of that, I'm assembling a party of people of the most varied skills, to serve me and act on my behalf, in an attempt to delay or stop this completely. You are one of these chosen individuals.

"I won't lie to you, Mr Andriniainampoinimerina. Your life will be constantly at danger if you choose to serve me. But you'll be rewarded greatly. And you'll be fighting for the safety of the Kingdom, and its people. You'll be a hero, but you'll sacrifice much. You must understand this before you make this choice. I cannot guarantee your safety, nor that you'll ever be able to play Proelium in the leagues again. But know this, Mr Andriniainampoinimerina, you'll be fighting for a much greater cause than a World Cup. I need both of you, Ms Vorombola, Mr Andriniainampoinimerina. This Kingdom needs you,"
I gesture at the glowing orb at the table. "This is your passport. If you truly wish to go through with this, seek for dragonflies. They'll take you to Johannesburg. There, seek for a hotel called 'Jewel of the Savanna', and present yourself to the owner, an elephant Mythos, with the phrase 'I am but an athlete who strives to be the best for other's sake'. pack only the essential, the rest of you belongings will be taken to you later.

"But thinks this through before you engage in such adventure, think of everything you'll be leaving behind, everything you'll be fighting for if you agree, and decide. And never, never forget your selflessness. Keep it close to your heart. Farewell, Mr Andriniainampoinimerina, Ms Vorombola. And may the Trinity Goddess cast her magic upon your journey,"
I stand up to leave, but I stop realizing I forgot something. "Now now, it would be such an waste if such a good concert ended like this," I take a deep breath and raise my right hand. "Ongean flowaþ tima swa hit ær þam wæs"

The world shone.

----

Once the bright flash went away, Andry found himself sitting back at his original seat at the concert and the Queen was gone. Everyone was sitting their original seats. The concert had resumed as if the Wyvern had never attacked, though Andry's watch would indicate that time had flown for him, and for the world outside the area of the stadium frozen in time. No one seemed to remember the Wyvern's attack and were enjoying the music normally. The concert went on without any troubles until its end.

The orb rested above Andry's lap when time resumed. A single golden dragonfly sat upon it, flapping its wings gently to the music. Once the concert was done, it took flight, circling around Andry's head as if wanting him to follow it. If he did, it would take him to a place he would never expect, his own house.

"...I see, so that is what happened."

Forced in some position what Alice calls 'seiza', I'm currently sitting on the floor, my legs crying for help as my heavy upper body pressing it hard. I guess I'm lucky she reconsider putting that washing board under my feet. For the duration of me telling her bits of the details without telling who exactly employs me, her face remains unchanging cold, stone-like.

"Well, guess what? Do you want good news first or bad news first?"

"Err... Bad."

"I'm extremely livid, if that sums to anything, brother dear~"

I winced. Of course she would be. She would be extremely furious, knowing that against all of their feelings, their brothers would enter the battlefield, never know when he'll die... Everyday is an uncertainty.

"...The good news?"

"You're lucky I didn't put the washing board, yes~? That's the good news~"

...She's extremely sadistic. Why am I not surprised?

"Stand up now."

I did like what she ordered, although my legs basically shaking like dead leaves on tree branches, blown by wind. Seriously, if her majesty have someone in her army that knows martial art, especially the Asian one, I'd bow my head low and ask him or her to teach me... My legs need more endurance on them.

"So, basically, if some bigshot could protect this place from the local government, then it must be either the country itself... or something with much bigger power than that. May be very unlikely, but does something like.. extension... or army of Great Britannia recruited you?"

...I goes silent. Needless to say, she just gathered the pieces herself.

"...I see, I won't change my opinion, though. Now what are you planning to do, Mr. Rakha Shiya? Hm? Would you just leave the front door just like that, or would you actually stopped to reconsider? Would you just like that go off to battlefield? Well, there are probably training, but DEATH can happened ANYTIME!"

-Gorre-
...Alice does have point. Both are headstrong in their own way. Always thinking the other before them. I eyed her Arcanus, Arania. The dullahan clad in female armor stays silent. Even the flame on top of her armor's collar does not show its usual eyes, which means Arania is closing her eyes.

"That... was very selfish of you, telling what people have to do..."

Rakha's voice, it's coated with sadness, but at the same time, cold fury. Arania's purple flame head finally shows 'eyes', two slanted yellow light in shape like eye.

"Oh? Are you saying that you are not, brother dear? You're ROBBING YOURSELF FROM US. Guess what? I found that also extremely selfish!"

Fury is very clear on this one girl.

I stared at Arania, who merely shook her flaming 'head'.

"...I won't back off, if that what you're telling me to do."

The air getting tense... It grows even worse when Rakha decided to onesidedly broke the banter by leaving the room without looking back. No, he's not going without saying goodbye. I know that.

--- Andry ---

Out of a sudden, everything had gone back to how it was before. It all happened so fast. The concert continued on but I couldn't even enjoy it much in the end.

Once the concert ended, I assumed I should follow the dragonfly. And I did.

A lot of things ran through my head as I followed it. First of all, I'm not sure if I'm ready for all of this. This feels so unreal to me. But even then, I couldn't lie to myself about how excited I am. A chance to be a hero? Who in their right mind would pass on this? Sure, she made it clear that it's going to be hard and life-threatening, but the fact that she chose me itself means that she knew I could do it. I just have to give it my all.

And after some more running, the dragonfly led me to a surprising place, my house.

"Well, I guess I should do some packing then."

------------------------ Kunagi ------------------------

I enjoyed the architecture of the airport for a bit before proceeding to enter it through its main gate. Soon Lymselia and I reached the main lobby and were greeted by a woman who seems to be one of the airport staff. Her features is foreign to me. That thought stopped midway as she mentioned about the airship. We nodded towards the woman and soon followed her to the airship.

We sat on our respective seats next to each other and relaxed for awhile after making sure to put on our seatbelts.

"I have been wondering... That woman from before. I have never seen someone like her before."

"Really? You have never met Vladescu before?"

"No. I lived most of my life back in that place. I had no encounter with them there and I have just lived with you for two years...", I sighed for a bit but soon I could hear a voice coming from the intercom nearby.

"Buckle you seatbelts and prepare for the Drop,"

"Drop?" "Drop?", Little did we know on what was going to happen to us.

"Sorry about that, but it saves fuel. You'll be arriving at Polis of Aeolia in about 2 hours. Enjoy the ride,"

I slowly recovered from what would be... one of the not so good moments in my life at least they had told us beforehand. I was worried about Lymselia and proceeded to check on her. Thankfully, she seemed to be all right although she seems to be somewhat spaced out. I took a deep breath before proceeding to relax, waiting until we reach our destination.

------------------------ Lymselia ------------------------

The breathtaking view of the Island of Aeolia welcomed us as we stepped out of the airport. It immediately swept away my negative thoughts on what happened in the airship.

"We should head towards the hotel."

"hmmm... but I want to go sightseeing first..."

"We are not really here for sightseeing. We can do it later after getting to the hotel if fate permits."

"Haa... Okay.", I nodded slightly to Kunagi. She proceeded to open the map of Aeolia using her Omniglass and used it to guide us towards our destination, 'The Fleeting Wind' Hotel located in Salvelive district.

"It is this one, right?", We are now in front of a tall windmill within the district, 'The Fleeting Wind' Hotel.

"Should be."

Without much further thought, We entered the hotel.

The dragonfly patiently waited for Andry to finish packing. Once he was done, it circled his head, as a request for him to follow it, and flew through the window, above the wall, into an empty lot behind Andry's house. There, it joined a group with countless fireflies, which buzzing could be heard even from Andry's bedroom.

There, they waited patiently for the owner of the magical orb present it to them.

------------------------ Kunagi & Lymselia ------------------------
The inside of the hotel was made of wood and the main lobby alluded the inside of an actual windmill, complete with a functional grinding millstone at its center, that spun continuously without grinding anything. Next to the reception desk, a Sylph with hurricane hair, silver skin and a slender body smiled at the guests. When she say Kunagi and Lymselai, her smile was replaced by an expression of doubt and then certainty, and she approached the girls.

"A wolf Mythos and an Ondine. What an unusual duo. May I have the pleasure of knowing your names?"

"Ahhh but of course. I am L-", I could feel a sudden chill that stopped me along with Ilyswennod's voice.

"Not your name. Remember what the Queen said."

"Sylph... ahh... right... our 'name'. I am but a child of those who defied fate.", Kunagi said as she bows respectfully towards the Slyph in front of us.

I was confused for awhile until I remembered what Ilyswennod was trying to remind me of. I would have forgotten... if not because of them. The Queen's words. Soon I said my 'name' towards the Slyph.

"and I am but wave that cannot be contained in a jar.".

The Sylph smiled at their answers,. Her eyes shifted from left to right, examining the room. "So it is indeed just the two of you," she said, when she realized the girls were alone. "Please, follow me. Your rooms are in the top floor."

She guided the two women up a spiral stair. It went up 4 floors, stopping at the final floor where it led to a square room with a tables, chairs and a sofa and a window from which one could see the spinning blades of the windmill. On each side of the room there was a door with a number. "Miss Kunagi will have the room to the left and Miss Lymselia, the one on the right. I must tell you that once you are in your rooms, you'll won't be permitted to leave until the time is right and all communications to the outside will be cut, to ensure your safety, ours and of the one who called you here," she warned, while opening the doors.

The luxurious room on the side where big, probably enchanted to be more spacious inside than outside, since the top of the windmill was quite narrow when looked from the street. There was a king size bed on each room, a big screen TV set with large speakers, one of the walls was entirely made of glass, giving a breathtaking view of Aeolia. The rooms also came with a fridge supplied with all kinds of food and a table with fruits, bread, sweets and water prepared for the travelers.

"However, don't worry about the isolation. That phone over there is a direct line to my personal phone. Use it to call me and I'll try to provide you with your every needs. I'm sure you two must be tired from your long journey, so I'll leave you to rest. Enjoy your stay," she said, and went down stairs.

--- Vorombola ---

He went straight to his room to pack his things. He only took some important things and some spare clothes in a modestly sized backpack. His parents saw him and questioned him about stuffs, but apparently he could get away by faking a sudden call into an international Proelium camp or something along those lines.

But anyway, there are lots of fireflies waiting for him in the back of the house. Apparently they're waiting for the magical orb to be presented. And that was what he did.

"What did ...she said just now?", I was in disbelief on what the sylph just said.

"If it needs to be done, So be it. Just take it as if it is a free vacation"

"No way! Sure... There are lots of stuffs and services... but I don't want to be confined! Who knows how long we are going to be stuck inside!"

"We have to. For the Queen, you have to be prepared to do anything even if it something we do not want to do.", Ugh...Ilyswennod's voice is as sharp as it can be.

"I agreed because of you! At least let me do what I want!"

I started bickering with Ilyswennod for awhile until there is a sudden sound of a door closing. Kunagi is nowhere to be seen as the door leading to her room is now closed. "Kunagi's choice is clear. You don't want to leave her alone now , do you?", I could only sigh. There is no way I could just leave Kunagi.I faced the door and proceed to enter the room, closing the door behind me.

"What now?"

"Sleep.",Ilyswennod didn't waste any time as she flew towards the bed and curled herself on it.

"Fine, I am tired anyway.", I went to the table and took a bottle of water before proceeding to sit on the bed, resting.

------------------------ Kunagi ------------------------

"That was rather rash of you to just leave her alone like that."

"She will understand sooner or later. Besides she seemed to be busy with herself.", I sat on the side of the bed and stretched a bit as I relaxed. With that done, I proceeded to look out of the window to enjoy the view.

After awhile, I turned around and noticed Hiouguu already seemingly asleep on the bed. The whole trip has been quite tiring and... fun. I headed towards the table and sat on a chair next to it.

"A fresh apple would be nice.", I took an apple from the table using my left hand and inspects it for a bit. Then I focused my mind on my right hand. Soon enough, a small claw formed on my right hand. The White Wolves Claw... taught by father.

I was lost in thought for awhile before regaining my senses. I shook my head for a bit before proceeding to use the claw to peel and cut the apple. Once everything is done, I enjoyed the apple in peace.
