As the lights flicked to life, the room told of a strange tale. The desks closet to Rune were scattered and seemingly unorganized documents, where as the privacy curtains still hid whatever is behind them, if anything. As the lights glowed from a soft hue to a more bright level, the fatty corpse on the table began to flail its only freed arm in no coordinated manner. Moans from behind the privacy curtains began to sound as well. No sign of actual movement though.

Having the proper sight, Rune can distinguish each and every bottle of medicine on those medical shelves. Upon moving towards the medical shelves, Rune can see some scientist in the corner of the room, looking like the corpse had grabbed him and flung him into the wall.

Tepo caught up and walks in.[/i]

"Holy..." Tepo stopped to be a bit bewildered by the sight. "Rune, you're not suppose to piss off the dead and have them come back."

"It would be nice if they really did come back, that'll give us a clue or two. Check the bodies, they might still be alive. Just leave the one in the table," Rune said while opening the curtain beside him. Things does have become much bigger for him.

"Gah..." Tepo really didn't want Rune joking to something so, so...defiled.

Rune made his way over to the first set of curtains to the left of the operating table with the bigger corpse trying to move. Thankfully to no avail so far. Sliding the curtain open, the decayed eyes of the deceased stared blankly at Rune. As it moaned, its once feminine body attempted to break free of its restraints, only to fail as well.

Upon a close inspection, there doesn't seem to be any blood wounds on the corpse.

"17/3/2130, 7:21pm local time. Observation report #17. Topic: 'The Undead Slaves'..."

A nearby recording came to life, as Tepo had fiddled around with it and started the playback feature on the recording device.

"...My excavation crew last week uncovered a shrine deep below the mining facility. At first there wasn't anything to discover, as there wasn't a book or codex to interpret more primitive art styles. That is until we found one. We had hired an oracle from Grotto Village to learn more. Upon the oracle's research, there it was, hidden underneath the altar's marble top, was another codex to their language and a language we had in COMMON."

Some moans in the recording became apparent and much similar to the ones in the room.

"When we recited the 'Necro Prayer,' a genuine Necromancer was summoned and started casting its magic on some of the crew. It was horrifying. Their bodies started to wither and soon enough, they became an undead slave, as the Necromancer used its ancient tongue to start attacking those who weren't affected yet. It was a bloody mess. Fortunately, the behemoth of lightening lizards had kept them at bay, due in part to our accidental drilling into their nest. We sealed the bulkhead leading back to the shrine, only for it to be destroyed by that ancient being, and enslaved more of the crew."

The scientist in the recording could hear some banging on the door behind him.

"Shit," a few seconds of silence for the doctor and the banging on the door from outside, before the recording continued.

"For some reason, light grants them motivation to move. I just turned off the light in the medical bay, and the slaves outside quieted down just now. Rick ran off to find help, but sadly it seems Matilda had turned much of the power grid off. I think I heard a shrill earlier as a ran back in here. Rotten luck, but I'm about to perform an experiment on the surgeon table and pray that it'll kill it or somehow return it to O' Frank's self without having to kill the Mancer. Here goes..."

The recording produced a sound as if the device was put down. Some seconds of silence continued, until an abrupt howl of pain resounded with the breaking of a few restraint bands. The doctor tried hard to break free of what you can guess being grabbed onto and tossed against the wall. The recording continues to play, with only a sobbing pain and then silence.

"Well, damn. And I thought Beastmen were a pain in the ass," Tepo sighed out loud.

"With war, comes technologies. With technologies, come weapons. Then all that's left to come is the apocalypse. The legend in my planet has it that their war had never ceased even in the midst of two zombie apocalypse, three robot apocalypse and an alien invasion making us lost a century of technology development. It never come to my mind that we're actually fighting with zombies."

Rune walked to the medical shelves and started to collect any healing items inside. "In one of the files about the zombies, I found a good quote about killing them. Let me recite it for you," Rune made an eerie pause before continuing, "There's one tricky thing about fighting undead. You can't kill them, they're already dead."

Rune chuckled a little, giving more frightening atmosphere of his story,
"But then, you can always obliterate them. So, do you think you have anything that could destroy their body completely in a go? Much preferably something with fire or explosives." Now his tune has come back to the usual one.

"That's...rather creepy man," Tepo wasn't liking Rune making that eerie pause.

With the lights on, some nearby moans echoed in the corridor. Tepo took heed of the recording and locked the door for now. In seconds the harmless banging on the door started. Much to Rune's chuckling, Tepo really started to hating this job.

"Maybe if we can find a workshop nearby, I can craft fire-based napalms and explosives," feeling relieved that Rune was pulling his leg this entire time.

Checking the map via COMMON, Tepo found the workshop room on this floor. They would have to go straight out of the door, down the corridor, turn right, walk through another corridor, turn left, and enter from there.

"Meh, never expected our guest to come this soon. Where were they when we came anyway?" Rune responded to the banging noise. He immediately turned out the light by flipping the switch again. "Let's wait until they quieted down a bit then we're out to find the workstation for these archaeologist."

"Well you did turn on the light just now," Tepo pointed out with a sigh to the window and a unpleasant face peering in.

After a couple of minutes with the lights off, the undead began to settle down, randomly walking about without aim. Tepo takes the first step out of the door. A bit squeaky, but that didn't seem to tip them off, as they're out of whisper earshot. Tepo awaits for Rune at the end of the first corridor, noticing a problem.

The next corridor, when facing right, has an emergency light flickering that made a couple of the undead zombies seem to do very rough imitations of Mr. Roboto's moves. Should they permanently kill them and see if a loud noise triggers more of them, or try and squeeze into a ventilation shaft next to Tepo? The shaft's screen door appears to be loose.

"You know what? I have been wondering..." Rune stopped middle sentence as he took out a grenade from his arsenal, "Do they prefer lights and sound..." He threw the grenade to the group of zombies, "Or us? Take cover." Rune immediately backed up against the wall to avoid the coming explosion.

"Oh, S..." Tepo immediate takes cover up against the wall next to Rune.

The grenade detonated, vaporizing the group of zombies in their way and blew out the lights in that section of the corridor. The sudden complete darkness enshrouded their eyes, needing several seconds to adjust. Only, the faint moans from the other zombies appear to be alerted and moving towards them.

"It's really nice to know they love light more than us. Let's go to the workshop right away," Rune commented on the zombies behavior. He walked casually through what was the dance floor of the dead while checking the map Tepo gave him before. "Any idea where the workshop is? If you don't then we should ask our lucky survivor."

"You're really something," Tepo shook his head as they continued on before more of them came to the party.

Rune asks for directions, which Tepo clued him in with a grin as he took lead, going down the next two corridors, reaching to the workshop. Slamming the door shut, luck is on their side that the computer screen is still active, mentioning being on emergency power.

Tepo soon found the light switch and the room lit up with various lab equipment.

"Now this is a workshop," Tepo got to work.

As Tepo started working, Rune searched for any vent and windows. He covered any holes he can find so the emergency lights won't be seen from outside. Believing there were no more lights going out from the room, Rune tried to scavenge any leftover parts he might be able to use for item creation before checking what Tepo is doing.

Well, IDK much about AT systems...
I have searched about it but it seems to be consisted of some short line conversation. Short liners would took to long to complete. It seems interesting though, so... can you please make the conversation using my character and Tepo? I mean, I would give the permission to puppet my character for this occasion. Feel free to interpret Rune's remarks based on his stat. Thanks.

As Rune searched for any leftover parts, he found a heavy pistol with a carrying pouch with bullets, 3 mining bombs, and an empty canteen.

Having decided on what to do with those items, Rune walked over to Tepo.

"How's it going?"

"Hm? Oh, being creative with the spare parts I have and what I thought they would have," Tepo replied.

"Can you make them?" Rune wondered.

"Of course I can! But if you want to get this job done faster, help me out here."

Tepo motions Rune to the adjacent workbench to his.

"Here's the blueprint for making artillery napalm, should work like a canister waiting to be shot up to explode all over those freaks," Tepo explains as he hands Rune the
materials and the blueprint.

A few minutes passes buy. Tepo looks over to Rune.

"How's it going Rune?"

"Got the first grenade done," Rune added with a smirk.

"Grenade? Weren't you making a napalm?" Tepo walked over to see.

Rune shows the zombie head looking grenade to Tepo.

"I call it a napalm grenade, or N-grenade. It explodes like a regular grenade, but the shrapnel have the napalm bits, and the blast site will be a pool of napalm. Oh, I even decorated it with a zombie face," Rune pressed the weapon of devastation towards Tepo's face.

Tepo was a bit weird-ed out by it, pulling himself away a couple of steps.

"You sure have some...unique tastes there Rune."

"I figured while we be giving them hell, we'd be giving them hell with a package."

"A package with a puking zombie expression at that," Tepo sighs to the irony.

Between the two, Rune has created 12 N-grenades and Tepo created 5 miner bombs.

Orz, I'm so sorry for the long delay. But here's what I thought of for the AT-styled skit. Something silly/weird/both with a useful function is how it goes.

"Okay, at least we're quite prepared if they come at us before we found the necromancer. Let's check the man we left before. I hope he's still alive. The more hands we got, the better." With everything set, Rune went back to the room with the unconscious man.

LOL, I never knew about the silly part... oh well, I'll keep that in mind for the next mixing processXD

"I sure hope so, or we're screwed."

As the two headed back out into the corridors, there was no signs of the undead roaming. Retracing their steps, they went up the flight of stairs and found the man leaning against the wall still. He was starting to regain consciousness, asking for nourishment. Tepo gave up one of his jerky strips and his canteen of water. The man feasted.

If he is going to keep eating, we would die of starvation rather than the undead outside, Rune thought. He waited until the man finished his jerky before starting to ask, "So... Can tell us about and what you know about what happened during those two weeks after these undead?"

"Gah...hah, thank you," the man looked up to Tepo and Rune.

Judging by his clothing, he looks like a miner with the tan clothing and steel-toe work boots. If he had a helmet, its not on him.

"Are you here from Logoma City?"

Rune was quite annoyed with him asking back rather than answering first. Nevertheless, he kept it for himself and decided to answer him. "Yes, my employer's sent me here since he lost his contact with a certain person here. We are here to investigate the cause. The thing is we still doesn't know what happened here except that a necromancer has wiped out most of the residents here."

After a short pause to let the man digest his words, Rune continued, "And the name is Rune, this one here is Tepo. Your turn, tell us about yourself."

"Wait, how did you know? Are there other survivors like me?" Before getting ahead of himself, he cleared his throat. "Sorry, my name is Egron. Just a simple miner is all. We were digging originally for minerals to send back to Logoma when we found the ancient temple. This place was once a miner's backyard, but then all those eggheads came in, gazing at whatever artifact they kept finding. Then recently, one of those damn egg heads started chanting like an eerie creep and that's when the Necromancer awaken and started killing everybody."

Egron takes a few moments to himself, as if reliving that horrific time.

"We got to get out of here."

"A couple of weeks ago, yeah. There was one egg head that survived and recorded what happened to this place. Thanks to him, we were able to get a little information about what happened. I do want to get out of here ASAP but I'm a paid man here, so I can't. That goes for you too, since I believe you won't be able to get out of here without out help and a pack of zombies waiting for you outside," Rune replied to Egron.

"Can you tell me about your survival during these two weeks? I believe you should know more about these zombies. That will keep us alive longer if we're going to get out of this room."
