Hello, I'd like to try and better understand what Pharmacological Extinction is to gauge where I'm at. I feel like I'm pretty close if I haven't already reached it, but there are some small points which I can't really define. Last Friday I had a stressful day at work, and I'm overloaded with things to do as well. Things were pissing me off when something clicked in the afternoon. Instead of wanting to get out of the office and grab a beer, I wanted to get out of the office and work out, see my family, etc. This was mind blowing. Drinking wasn't even on my list. So on that note, yay for me. What I can't fully define is the difference between extinction and breaking habits. For example, Saturday we had some work meetings at my house, then we were going to have some dinner at home and call it a night. No drinking was going to happen for me. Someone suggested we go out to eat, so we agreed and I immediately popped a Nal as going out to eat = drinking for me. Same thing on Sunday occurred. I went to the horse races and couldn't really imagine going there without drinking. I didn't actually want to drink, but they have always gone hand in hand. So if there is a difference, what is the difference between Pharmacological Extinction and breaking habits? I don't feel addicted anymore, but I still have habits that need to be broken. Any help will be apprecited. I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
