Haldarri; If you can survive the taigas, and the freezing nights, and the wolfriders...you can survive anything.

Harsher people than their human kin in Bascalen, the humans of Haldarri are large, rugged warriors, well-suited to the dangerous, frigid tundras of their realm. Long winters dominate the year in Haldarri, the other seasons almost nonexistent, and so most survive by skilled hunting and gathering. It is, without doubt, the coldest of the kingdoms, all save the southernmost islands in the Daeccan archipelago. Its bitter taigas trail down the coast into the frozen wasteland at the southernmost tip of Haldarri. There, on the lowest edges of the continent, the solid ice stretches as far as the eye can see.

Some speculate that dragons and giants of pure ice make their homes there, but none are willing to venture far enough into the white wasteland to find out. It is estimated, after all, that none could survive the journey across its breadth.

The people of Haldarri, known widely across the other kingdoms as barbarians for their brutish ways, live by their weapons and their strength. The archlord is chosen from a range of eligible men with a test of strength. Some live as nomads, ranging after the herds of game, while others have adapted to the land, living off of carefully-cultivated herds of wild game. Such herds are jealously guarded, of course, and those with the skill to keep their beasts alive in great numbers tend to find it a lucrative business.
