ALIGNMENT: CIVILIAN The main streets of Brockton are composed of a commercial backbone with many 'ribs' of residential streets and districts. Many of the living areas here are on the slummy side of things, but home is what you make of it, right? Now that Brockton's population has fallen greatly, the streets are somewhat littered with odd bits of trash and some of the street lights no longer work at night, making it somewhat spooky in appearance. A weak police force still roams the streets in an attempt to maintain order, something it manages alongside occasional military presence.

ALIGNMENT: MARK 21S Once called the Summersong Hotel, this complex was abandoned when it, like many other businesses, shut down to pull out of Brockton. The Mark 21s, the most dominant street gang in the city, took the hotel as their main hideout and renamed it the Hotel Raou. Because thunderclouds are always storming above the complex, this area holds a perpetually gloomy atmosphere.

ALIGNMENT: REBELS The northern end of Brockton is a torn place. Once it was one of the most peaceful parts of the city, featuring suburban streets and residences. Now, given that the rebels are under fire from both the military and the Mark 21s, the signs of struggle are everywhere in derelict buildings, cracked streets and decimated population. Yet, life goes on.

ALIGNMENT: MILITARY The city of Brockton is surrounded on all sides by a massive blockade of military force, desperate to contain the outbreak of contamination in the city. While they may appear as an antagonistic force, the military is still composed of honest-to-god Americans, hard working soldiers putting their lives on the line to control a bad situation. Because so many forces are being allocated simply to containing the breach and forming the blockade, military forces actually inside the city are relatively small.
