Name: Michael Knox
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Faction: Mark 21's

Appearance: Michael comes in at a height of 6 feet even, and weighs a respectable 184 pounds. Most of that is muscle mass, though his upper body is more muscled than his lower.

He's Caucasian, and blond. He has green eyes, a rather sharp nose, and usually facial hair levels somewhere between clean shaven and stubble.

Michael is professional-looking, at least for a gang member. That is to say, he wears a sleeveless shirt, usually white, and jeans. He usually has his hair slicked with gel and combed forwards so that it sticks out near-horizontally in the front. In the back, it's just slicked down.

Though he doesn't have much occasion to wear such clothes, he has a certain fondness for suits, and has a collection of them.

Biography: Michael was born in Brockton, the second of two children. His older brother, Jonathan, two years older, was typically the child that his parents placed the most emphasis on, and as such, Michael had a content but somewhat neglected childhood.

In elementary, Michael proved to be a gregarious and outgoing child, though his grades left something to be desired. At the time, the cause of his academic problems was simply the lack of attention that he paid to his subjects. He was at least average in intellect, but he just didn't apply himself.

However, as time went on and Michael progressed to middle school, the foundations of the subjects that he had neglected in elementary came back to haunt him. For example, basic addition and multiplication took him longer than most people, simply because he hadn't practiced it enough. This set him back in math. The same held true for most other subjects, as well. He was forced to get a tutor to make up for everything that he had neglected. In frustration at the situation, which was mostly his own fault, he took to bullying others on the side. He was sturdy enough naturally as a child, which he used to push others around, though most of the bullying he did was verbal. He never got into fights, though there were times he came close. Once or twice, he went too far, and was disciplined for misbehavior, but he served his detentions. His parents reprimanded him, but they soon went back to paying more attention to Jonathan.

He mellowed out somewhat in high school, realizing that bullying wasn't getting him anywhere, and that some of the bullies that he had been "friends" with were moving on to other things. Though he never really recovered from the lack of attention that he had paid to his academic subjects in elementary and middle school, he managed to skate by in high school with C's and B's. It wasn't enough to get him into college, though, and his family was having financial problems from sending Jonathan to college two years prior.

So Michael stayed home. He looked for a job, didn't find one. He spent the days roaming around Brockton. Eventually, he fell in with the wrong crowd. Eventually, he proved himself to the Mark 21's and became one of their gang members.

Then, the Riverside Incident happened. He didn't think much of the disaster. Then, waking one day feeling a little sick, Michael found himself spraying dust from his fingers - nothing that he could control at first, and not harmful, just really strange. He didn't feel sick enough to warrant a hospital visit, but he didn't want anyone to see him in his strange state. So he quarantined himself in his room for a few days, trying to figure out what was going on, confusing his fellow gang members. During these days, Michael gradually gained control over his new power.

His parents suspect that he's gotten into trouble, from the smell of him every time he comes home - cigarettes, etc. He's also moved out, living in the Mark 21's area, telling his parents that he had found an apartment to rent. They're suspicious of that too; he never invites them over. But Michael is still a "good kid," in some ways. Cigarettes are the hardest drug he's done, and he only smokes sporadically and sparsely.

He's loyal to his fellow gang members - to a point. His parents are still stuck in Brockton, civilians, left without enough money to escape. He's been sending them money from the gang's exploits, whatever he can get. Hopefully, it'll be enough someday.

As for himself, he has a bit of a vested interest in helping the Mark 21's win. He can't get out of the city otherwise, of course. As such, Michael is willing to do a lot to help him reach this goal, but isn't likely to use wanton violence. He's a reasonable guy.

Power: Michael Knox possesses the ability to shoot jets of dust from his fingers. The velocity of these dust streams is about as fast as a low pressure jet of water - enough to feel an impact, but not enough to knock over or even cause someone to rock on their heels. The farther it travels the less impact it makes, because the dust spreads out as it travels. He loses control of the dust as it leaves his fingers - the velocity is the sole factor in keeping it traveling, and he can't concentrate the jets to make more of an impact. The dust that comes from his fingers needs to be picked up from the environment. Generally, it will recharge slowly solely based on the amount of dust in the air, but he can wipe his fingers over dust-coated surfaces to charge up his "dust beam" faster. Only his fingers can absorb the dust.

The jets are limited - generally Michael finds that shooting a jet from one finger will disable his ability to do so for quite some time, maybe even a day in length. This would seem to indicate that he has ten uses of this power a day, from having ten fingers, but the power is also capricious. It may be that he hasn't fully gained control of it yet, but generally only about five of his fingers actually shoot dust in one day, and all five may not even be able to be activated at the same time.

The dust is just normal dust. It may serve as a good distraction, but is unlikely to maim or kill. It may, however, aggravate allergies.

Starting Belongings: Two pistols, a Glock 17 and a M1911. The Glock serves as his main pistol, the second is backup. Also, a switchblade knife.

Geez, you're good at this.

Just ooooone little thing, then you can basically consider Michael approved. Actually, three things, technically.

What kind of pistols/knife are we talking about, here?

Uh, honestly, I don't know that much about guns and knives. Any input would be appreciated.

Edited, though. (Also, is there a way to get that "Don't show that you've edited this post" checkbox? It doesn't appear to be available on this forum at the moment.)

I'm not sure, but you don't need to hide the edit statement anyway.

At any rate, that was the only thing I really wanted to ask. Approved.
