Name: Marie Roux Age: 21 Gender: Female Faction: Civilian Appearance: Marie is tall and thin, at 5’9”, 147 pounds. She is tanned from the time she spends outdoors. Marie is a natural brunette, but she dyes her hair black and wears it in a bob cut. Marie’s eyes are brown, but she wears a pair of contacts that make them appear sea green. Marie is slender and muscular, with little in the way of body fat or curves. Her face is attractive, if generally marred by a perpetual scowl. Her jawline is oddly elegant, her nose small and her ears not particularly notable. She wears light eyeliner, but no other makeup. Marie dresses down a lot. She wears a heavy black hoodie, along with jeans, military boots and fingerless gloves. She also wears a pale blue beret, a childhood clothing article she keeps to this day. Biography: Marie grew up a few miles south of Brockton, in a smaller town called Brighton. She spent her first 17 years of life there before moving to a dorm in Brockton University at age 18. Her family was 2nd-generation French, and she spoke two languages from a young age. From a young age, Marie was a bright go-getter with a lot of energy. She loved to run around with boys, and was never a fan of sitting quietly. While not the best student, Marie tried very hard and always did well enough in school. Marie played softball since a young age. She was a decent shortstop, but she really preferred to be a batter, and did very well. Her athletic endeavors carried over to high school, where she was on the team. She ultimately got a partial scholarship for her skills in Brockton University. Marie developed a fascination with conspiracy theories at the age of 13. She found them interesting, and thought the well-thought-out ones were actually believable. As a result, Marie developed a slight distrust of the government. She also started packing an “emergency bag” for a potential apocalypse. She was never especially concerned, but she just wanted to be prepared, just in case. Marie has a close relationship with her family; with her mom Sylvia and her father Louis, her aunt Marie, a younger brother and sister named Jacque and Brittany, and an older brother named Theodore, her house was always a crowded lively place. She got along very well with Theodore especially, who currently lives in New York City as a Sous-Chef for a nice restaurant. Marie was extremely disturbed to learn of the events in Riverside; it only proved to her that conspiracies could be true. She was especially distraught to find that, as the chemicals had affected her, she had no chance of freedom. These days, Marie spends most of her time avoiding people and trying to figure out how to escape. She is extremely afraid of capture, but beyond that mostly tries to live her days. Despite once being filled with life, constant fear and paranoia have affected Marie very negatively. She is nervous, hostile and antisocial. She will interact with people if necessary, but tries to avoid it. She is mostly out for herself, but beyond that is willing to help others if it benefits or does not harm her. She is often sullen and moody as well. Power: Marie possesses the ability of brief instantaneous evasive maneuvers. Specifically, she can dodge things instantly. Any attack targeting her that she is aware of can be instantly dodged via a reflexive muscular movement, causing her to step immediately out of the way at almost the speed of sound. This results on a brief moment of disorientation as well. This ability, while powerful, is not perfect. She cannot dodge anything in an area burst of larger than five or six feet, as that is the maximum distance she can move in an instant. In addition, her ability can be used voluntarily, but this is severely draining on her stamina. Using her ability voluntarily causes her to feel queasy from the sheer G-force, and repeating it more than three times within about 10 minutes could cause her to pass out. Starting belongings: An aluminum baseball bat, a bag containing a pocket knife, compass and canned foods (with a can opener) with water to last for 3 days is with her at all times. "Mostly tries to liver her days." Hehehe. Marie doesn't look that bad, but the obvious bit is that we're going to have to step down that crazy power. I suggest maximum movement of six feet (more than enough to dodge just about anything coming her way. The speed at which she's moving is also going to have to be toned down, and she'll probably suffer some ill effects shortly thereafter (whether it be from using it once or several times in quick succession). |

Well, beyond the typo, I also reduced the speed of her ability (just below the speed of sound) and gave it side effects (disorientation, feeling ill, passing out). |
