Name: Lyra Bishop
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Faction: Mark 21s
Appearance: Lyra is 5"3 and weighs 103 pounds. She is a scrawny girl with a thin face. Her thin eyes are often narrowed in an expression of annoyance or suspicion. She has three earrings in the top of her left ear, two black and one red. Her lips are thin and chapped, she often disguises this through the use of black lipstick. She has a snake bite piercing in her lip. She doesn’t wear much make up, apart from her lipstick, but does wear some eyeliner. Her hair is blonde and as a result her thin eyebrows are barely visible. Her hair is currently dyed turquoise and she has ice blue eyes.

She is often seen in band t-shirts and hoodies. Most of these are black, blue, white or red. She wears a chain belt with tatty and often ripped jeans. She often wears fingerless gloves and boots. She likes to keep her hair short in a faux hawk, though her hair is often hidden as she keeps her hoodie up over her face.

Biography: Lyra was born in Riverside to parents Mark and Lucy Bishop. Both her parents were a part of the Mark 21s pretty much from the start and accordingly she grew up in the shadow of the gang. They were keen to instil an anti authority attitude in their daughter and for her to be of use to the gang. Her parents were both pragmatic and self interested, very willing to fulfil their own aims through their daughter. This was partly a result of her being an accident at a party. Neither really wanted the responsibility of a child but were not cruel enough to abandon her, especially as she could be useful. When she was younger Lyra was hurt by her parent’s indifference and was willing to help them out, as an attempt to impress and please them. As she got older she became increasingly hard skinned to their attitude.

As part of her desire to stand out, and fostered by her parents’ anti authoritarian attitude, Lyra came to love the punk subculture. This developed around her teen years, though she heard the music earlier in gang territory. She believed whole heartedly in the messages of rebellion, togetherness and power. It seemed to give an identity and thus a quasi-family to her. Lyra has always strongly believed in the message of punk and is very defensive if it is insulted. Furthermore, she can be easily manipulated by appeal to her punk beliefs.

At school Lyra liked to mess around and run her lip. She did not feel her future was in school work and as such did not feel compelled to try. Furthermore, a lot of her spare time was taken up with the gang. From a relatively young age she was passing information and materials for the gang. Her parents encouraged her, explaining the gang was exactly aligned with her anti authority thoughts.

Her passion for punk, and living its message, meant that Lyra became fascinated with music. She loved to play the guitar, a guitar being one of the few presents she ever got off her parents. She loved performing music and dancing. Years of mosh pits, self defence classes, avoiding rivals and running missions have improved her agility and speed.

The Riverside incident seemed to confirm her view of authority. Both her parents survived the incident and attained powers. There powers were offensive and clear and Lyra was therefore confused when she didn’t appear to have any powers. After the Riverside Incident her family withdrew even further from society into the gang environment. The undercurrent of suspicion and anti-military feeling ran high, which proved useful to the gang as well as further vindicating Lyra’s views.

Lyra discovered her power when she was practising the guitar. She was trying to explain a riff and beat to one of her friends when she found herself able to simulate the instruments effectively. The power left her feeling weak and ready to faint but with practice she has become better at using it.

Power: Lyra can simulate musical instruments using her voice. The more complex the tune and the more instruments used the harder and more draining it is. This can also strain her vocal chords leaving her unable to talk if she over uses it or tries something too complex.

Starting belongings: Her clothing, a snake necklace, guitar and amps and a cheap knock off mp3 player.

Lyra's.... kind of a strangely punny name for somebody who wasn't born with their powers, don't you think?

Anyway, Miss Heartstrings here will be approved once you can give me a definite height and weight and give the grammar/spelling a quick brush over. Try to make at least 5 improvements.
