![]() Rofl Minecraft News Officially supports the Battle for the Net! What is it? On February 26, 2015 the FCC will vote on either to save net neutrality or to support internet corporate giants Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Version, and AT&T. These companies want to take control of the web and take people's right to an open and free internet away from them. "Cable companies are famous for high prices and poor service. Several rank as the most hated companies in America. Now, they're attacking the Internet–their one competitor and our only refuge–with plans to charge websites arbitrary fees and slow (to a crawl) any sites that won't pay up. If they win, the Internet will never be the same." -Statement from Battle for the Net website. Why Should you care? If the internet companies win this would mean they can charge extra fees for special services and are allowed to slow your connection down. This would limit access to a free and open internet and is an infringement on YOUR rights! "We believe in the free and open Internet, with no arbitrary fees or slow lanes for sites that can't pay. All of the people, companies, and organizations below have taken a stand for "Title II reclassification," the only option that lets the FCC stop Team Cable from breaking the key principles of the Internet we love." -Statement from BAttle for the Net Website. How can you help? visit the website: https://www.battleforthenet.com/ and sign the petition along with contacting your representatives in congress. Demand online and in real life that the FCC and government protect net neutrality. Also spread the word to friends, family and community members and get them to take action too! You can also click the web gadget too on our website which will re- direct you directly to the website so you may take part. Thank you for taking part and joining Rofl Minecraft News for fighting for a free and open internet. |
