Bleh. I hate vamps with a vengeance, but I suppose I could be one of the filthy bat brains. If it were required of me.

I'm sure you can have your vampire get killed off quickly.

But Winter, did you have any plot in mind for this?

No, I didn't. I'm open to suggestion should anyone have them. I would like it to be something a bit more original that your average "Vampires and werewolves hate each other so they fight" plot.

I'm thinking... perhaps there are two groups, one from each faction, and they're both trying to archive the same goal, but their interests conflict.

How about this?
Two hundred years ago, when vampires still roamed free and were frequently spoken of in taverns across Europe. English folk told tales of their encounters with a vampire, or told of vampires murdering friends. Spaniards feared vampires, and it wasn't uncommon to find them taking precautions against vampires.
Around the time England began colonizing in the Americas, back in Europe the people finally began to take action against this threatening foe, fearing the vampires were becoming too strong and brave. People across Europe rose up in local communities to rally against the vampire threat, these people commonly referred to as 'Slayers.' The Slayers soon began communicating to eachother across the land, and began to campaign among the people to revolt against their mysterious foe together, to drive them out of their country.
The vampires, aware of this new threat, called a gathering, now referred to as the 'Last Reunion.' At the Reunion, the vampires decided that the threat of the humans was becoming to dire, and they had to flee Europe. Their best chance was to blend in with folk traveling to the Americas from Europe, in attempt to start a new life. Once agreed upon, the vampires left eachother in pairs on boats leading to the New World.
Ever since, vampires have only been beings of myth and legend. Folktales, horror stories. Over the past two-hundred years, some families of vampires have forgotten their legacy, and the fact of them being a different race from human has slipped away from their memories. Although some families still hold their past sacred, and revere it as a religion, keeping their secret dear.

Well, that's all I got for a nickel. Want more, you'd have to pay up. I guess what'd be needed after here would be the characterization of the vampires we'll be using, such as how long they live, their physical appearance, their crave for blood, etc.

That works just perfectly. Seeing as I had always intended to be a vampire slayers anyway, I could be the sole upholder of a lost and ancient order. Honor bound to root out an ancient and forgotten menace wherever they can be found.

I would modify your plot a bit however. Like any plot, it needs to have a problem to be solved in order to be driving it. Something that could perhaps attract out more, shall we say, savage minded friends. Perhaps, in this long stretching history that you propose, there was also a third faction.

In ages long past, there was a secret sect, devoted the the worship of the moon as the source of all life and the wolf as it's messenger. As the rising tide of Christianity in Europe spread, this sect and it's places of worship were systematically hunted down and destroyed until only a few remained. The shattered remnants of a once broad sect came together in a final commune, and in desperation the elders bound themselves to the moon forever, in return receiving eternal youth, regeneration, and the ability to assume the shape of a wolf-human hybrid at will. However such power is not without it's price, and when the moon waxes full it's lure is to strong to resist. As the disease spread, the people of Europe came to fear these creatures as much as they did the vampires. The two factions were ever at odds.

As the slayers rose and hunted both races down, when the vampires chose to flee the wolves chose to stand and protect their ancient hunting grounds. Their numbers dwindled, until the people in the lands they once terrorized came to forget them. But still they remained, and hold the great gathering on the first new moon of the year at the site the original wolves bound themselves to the moon.

The two factions never forgot each other, and now something has happened to disturb the balance. Something that will let the fates of wolves and vampires intertwine once more.

Oh, so it is going to be a cliche Werewolves vs Vampires thing. Plus the hunters.

Well, it was what Pana and AoG seemed to like the best, and in the end I just want to do something more than I really want to be totally original.

Besides, the people on this board seem to be pretty accustomed to the cliche, best to ween them off of it =P.

However it doesn't have to be another versus thing. I said intertwined, not opposed.

Really, it's only Pana you'd have to worry about if you only had Vampires, since I like them both. I was / am just in a werewolf craze.

I've never really been in a craze for either, I have no real interest. Only reason I'm posting is to help Winter out.
