Another common theme in popular culture is the post-apocalyptic genre. We already have a couple that touch on this theme, namely BSFtG, Dead World, and TCFtE, but two never really left the ground and in one the post-apoc. is a background rather than the plot. Common ideas for scenarios include: nuclear war, zombies (a personal favorite), global pandemic (can tie into zombies), and natural disasters (asteroid, volcano, perfect storm, etc.) However, if anyone has any idea for an original plot it would be awesome. |

I've had several ideas about this, and my friend wrote three narratives that are linked to post-apocalyptic setting. I might contribute if more show interest. |

After seeing I Am Legend this idea sounds very fun and promising. I particularly like the idea of zombies. |

I knew if I threw enough hooks in the water someone would bite. Alright, it would appear that the zombie plot has received the most support, unless anyone objects. We now get to the business of deciding how said zombie plague came to be. options include: Necromantic energy (like Dead World) Super virus that seizes control of motor functions after the death of the victim and uses the "host" to spread the disease (perhaps the most realistic) Divine/demonic intervention (definitely not my favorite, but it's still an option) Finally, we need to establish the nature of the zombies more options: Stereotypical, slow, lumbering dumb corpses Fucking terrifying lightning quick, ultra senses, super corpses as always, ideas welcome |

If no one has any problems with me posting ideas from I Am Legend I'll share some, if not then I'll sit back and let everyone else discuss things. |

Don't we already have a Zombie Plot? I mean, we can always have another one. Posting ideas from a movie would kind of defeat the point of originality, if that's what we're aiming for. |

I don't believe I said that we had to use them. Usually original ideas can create room for new ideas to grow. |

Your right about the zombie plot, Luke, but Dead World ended up sort of DOA. Like I said, if anyone has any original ideas, their more than welcome to share them In fact, didn't you say that you and a friend of yours had some ideas Luke? |

Yeah, my friend was an author. He was always writing stuff and always had tons of ideas on any topic. I wasn't too great though, just kind of learning from him. |

I'm sure you were fine Luke. Probably better than me anyway. So, care to share any of these ideas? |

AoG, I've never actually seen I am Legend. What's the plot? Right now, the extent of my knowledge of the movie is that it's a remake of an old movie called Omega Man and Will Smith has a dog and is the last person on Earth. |

He's not really the last man on earth, he just thinks he is. Basically the zombies sprout up from a man-made supervirus made to cure cancer (the irony). The victims lose all hair, they become pale, extremely agressive, and they are weak to UV radiation. Even to an extent that they won't cross a beam of sunlight that is merely an inch in width. They also, appear to exhibit enhanced speed, and strength (enough added strength to send people flying / tumbling with a single punch). They also hunt in groups and are relentless. The virus itself is airbourne and transfered through blood contact, though there are a few who are immune to both forms of it. |

Ah, the "still technically living" kind of zombie. I've always preferred the kind that is dead, but the virus just seizes control of the brain. More in the "walking dead" tradition. So, which do we prefer for the RP? |

It too prefer the zombies that are actually dead, but perhaps combining features from both types. Since the zombies from I Am Legend are much harder to kill, which could be more fun in the rp (if this makes it that far). |
