Think like politics and outright warfare between different nations or states.

We really only have one RP that touches on this, BSFtG, but it only has perspective from one side.

There are so many different ways this could go, but I'll try to list the variations I can think of:

We could use Earth, or we could invent an entirely different planet with it's own countries and land masses

We could have this be in the future, the past, or the present, If we're using Earth.

We could have a different technology levels (stone age, future, medieval, modern etc.) or even use technology that was never part of human history (steam punk, magic, etc.)

We could all be from one nation and work together, or we could all be from different nations and fighting against each other, or any combination of the two.

This is obviously going to require a lot of development. Feel free to post more ideas for variations in the setting. Also, start forming preferences from existing variations.

The narratives my friend wrote that I mentioned in your Post-Apocalyptic topic would also fall into this category, i guess... Again, I'll contribute if others show interest.

Well this one ended up sort of DoA. Luke, what were these ideas that your friend wrote? Maybe they'll stimulate some response.

Why thank you.

However, you, me, and Luke do not an RP make.

I might have to get Pana to use one of his many torture methods.

Time for a little plot idea CPR! Clear!

*neeeeee ZAP!*

The year is 1901, and Europe is in turmoil. After the rise of Bismarck and the unification of Italy but seven great powers remain: France, Italy, Russia, Germany, England, Turkey, and Austria-Hungary. These contenders stand on different sides of battlefield as old as human history itself.

The stakes: dominance over all Europe.

Armies mobilize, drafts are enforced, and all is being made ready for a conflict the likes of which has never been seen before. The war to decide the fate of western civilization itself. The conflict is inevitable, and the continent can only hold it's breath and wait for the spark that will set off the powder keg.

Alliance, betrayal, ambition, courage, honor, glory, promises to be kept, promises to be broken, these are your tools. Take the reins of one of the great powers and carve a name for yourself in the history of the world, be it with a sword or a pen.

In the game of diplomacy, there is no retreat, no surrender, only conquest.

We've got a pulse! Now breathe damn you!

Seeing as we don't even have seven active RPers yet, all of the unchosen powers would become sort of NPC powers.

Once you do decide which country you would like, the real fun begins.

A lot of the RP would be about strategy and war. Each faction would start out with two armies and one fleet to deploy as they see fit into the areas they want to conquer.

When two opposing armies or fleets meet, then they would have a battle. Whether or not you win the battle depends on your logistical and tactical skill. If you overextend your advance and the enemy cuts your supply, they your done for. This stage would have to be heavily moderated and controlled by me.

If I'm one of the factions fighting, moderating would fall to one of the other RPers.

The other aspect would be diplomacy. Forge alliances, make treaties, do whatever you want.

However, nobody is bound to go through with anything that they promise or say. Trust at your own risk.

It's a pity that there aren't more choices, but it does sound interesting. Sounds similar to Risk, with a lot less dependence on probability and chance.

We have respiratory function, now all we can do is see if she pulls through.

I'll have to provide a period map, but if you have the time look at one of Europe at about 1901.

It's the simplest map of Europe that ever was or ever has been. Those seven are the only powers that would be able to engage in a conflict of this magnitude. Outside Europe, the United States maybe, but at the time they were pursuing a strict policy of nonintervention in foreign affairs.

Or did you mean choice in something else?

The choises were in regard to them only being for countries limited to Europe.

Good, that's what I thought.

Now, lets see, that makes me, AoG, Pana, Ach, so four.

If I could get Luke or Eeva, life would be good.
