Let's get back to the ten dimensions...; The ironic bullet of inspiration...

So basically, the ironic bullet of inspiration can sometimes come painfully, easily or at times when you least expect it.
Anyways, I've recently had the inspiration to spark back up Winter's old idea of the dimensional rifts, except we'd probably go into what they've been clarified as, not what good old 70's science-fiction says they were. But, with improbability and all, this would in fact be taking us into science-fiction. Well duh.
Anyways, we earlier had the idea of just the different 'realities' crashing, which would actually be the fifth dimension gone wrong, which we discussed in Winter's earlier topic. We could go along with that, do something completely different, or both if we so choose. But figuring we'd be choosing one of the second two options, because if we weren't we'd just carry out the conversation back in Winter's topic, let's take a deeper look at our options.
I recently had a dream about a physics laboratory burning down, yet after the fire was put out, nothing was burned. This could be a sample of our story, going into the characters would be workers there, or mere standbys that coincidentally end up caught in the story.
Now, the laboratory had burned down, but in the midst of it burning, a 'human effect' caused the laboratory to take a trip through the fifth dimension, into a point where it had not burned. Through study of the characters, this would be discovered and looked into. Eventually, this would lead our characters into the dramatic adventure in a fierce struggle with the ten dimensions.
That or I need some sleep. Comments? Additions? Slaps to the face? Or maybe I just need some Mountain Dew...

*Shoots Luke with a tranquilizer.* *Wakes Luke up by slapping* *Keeps Luke awake with Mt. Dew*

Ahem ....

The idea sounds good and fun. Sounds like it'll be a(n) rp based more on interaction than the normal hardcore "blow shit up" rp.

Well I like the idea of the characters interactions building the story. I also like the fact that this doesnt seem like the usual "shoot the shit out of everybody" rp.

I like it, but there's a problem that I see:

I have no idea what the ten dimensions are. Perhaps you could give us some of the science that's backing this up, or provide a like to some information we could understand. Once I have that, i can begin to make my contributions.

If we endeavor on this RP, my friends, we will have crossed the line from science fiction into hard science. Science fiction relies on the idea that the universe is governed by rules, but those rules are ultimately decided by the author(s). Now, the rules are the real ones.

Hopefully, that will cut back on arguments.

Would this be similar to The Tenth Dimension on the CB?

It might go in the same direction, it might not. We'd just have to find out!
