Name: Sirind Freine Gender: Male Race: Drow Race Skill: Nightsight Class: Ranger Class Skill: Track: A few bent blades of grass or stray wisps of hair are all a Ranger needs to hound his quarry ceaselessly across the wilderness. (As Sirind progresses in this skill, he becomes more proficient at tracking foes in difficult conditions, such as after precipitation or when that trail isn't fresh. In addition, he becomes adept at foiling the tracking attempts of others.) Equipment: Sirind, following in the Ranger tradition, fights with a sword in each hand. The swords are mildly magical, enchanted to feel lighter to the wielder while still delivering their full power in blows, giving him a speed bonus to his attacks. In addition, Sirind carries a longbow, along with a number of arrows for it to launch. The only other piece of equipment of note is his hooded cloak, which carries a small enchantment that enables him to use it to camouflage himself and give himself a bonus to stealth. Appearance: Sirind's skin is coal black and his hair is a brilliant white, just like the rest of his race. The hair is drawn back in a subtle knot that doesn't result in a ponytail, giving it a combed back appearance. His eyes are a bright red, another typical Drow trait, and at times they appear almost to glow. He is above average hieght for his race, which still puts him below average for most humans. Sirind dresses in subdued, wilderness colors but seems to favor the darker end of the spectrum. He is not heavily armored, relying on his skill and speed to protect him. He is seen traveling with his hood up to conceal his face, if he is seen at all. Personality: This far in the future, very few people remember a certain fantasy series that involved a Drow Ranger. Those that do, however, Sirind has a tendency to end up killing on sight. Sirind has carved a middle road between his race's innate depravity and the angsty whining of the Drow dissidents. He has no qualms about killing, and indeed frequently opts for it in favor of other methods when it is convenient. He is absolutely ruthless when it comes to his enemies, and neither asks nor gives quarry. Still, he will not deliberately seek out a fight and takes no particular joy in violence other than as a means to an end. The end that Sirind chooses frequently coincides with those of a more virtuous path. Even so, He is at best barely tolerated by those who call themselves the enemies of evil and at worst attacked on sight. It is for this reason that Sirind usually ends up leaving a trail of corpses in his wake, and he has never looked back. Skills: Two Weapon Fighting: He who masters two weapons becomes an impenetrable whirlwind of deadly steel. (As Sirind progresses in this skill, he reduces and eventually eliminates the penalties associated with dual wielding. In addition, Sirind gains greater ability to deflect enemy blows and deliver crippling counterstrikes due to the added versatility of a second blade.) Wilderness Lore: Those who spend their lives outdoors are naturally at home in the wild, and have plumbed its deepest secrets. (As Sirind progresses in this skill, he gains knowledge in useful flora and fauna, geography, and how to survive in the wilderness.) Uncanny Dodge: Who needs armor when they can't hit you anyway? (As Sirind progresses in this skill, he becomes more proficient at avoiding enemy attacks with incredible agility, interpreting and reacting to threats with speeds that to the layperson appear indistinguishable from precognition) Hawkeye: A real marksman can pin a fly to a tree without killing it. (As Sirind progresses in this skill, he can achieve greater accuracy with his shot by spending more time. The higher he develops this skill, the higher the accuracy bonus and the shorter the time needed to spend aiming.) Stealth: A soft rush of air and the sound of steel biting into your flesh is all the warning you're likely to get. (As Sirind progresses in this skill, he becomes more adept at avoiding detection from his enemies. The higher he progresses, the more he is able to remain undetected in adverse conditions or against particularly alert foes.) Edited by Winter is Coming, Jun 29 2011, 11:32 PM.
