Title: Pestilence Real Name: Jean Frollo Gender: male Age: indeterminate Apperance: At first glance, Pestilence is the most withered husk of a human being imaginable, his frail body ancient beyond compare. Although his true age is a mystery, every aspect of his wasted frame displays the ravages of time. His bald, spotted head squats vulture-like atop a scrawny neck, and a curving predatory nose arcs from his thin face. His eyes, gleaming with vicious intelligence, glare venomously from deep set sockets. The remainder of his body is concealed, except for a pair of claw-like, arthritic hands that jut from the ends of his sleeves. He is seated perpetually in a very specialized wheelchair, upon which is mounted a dizzying array of machines and devices. It is to these devices that Pestilence is connected, and they seem to be the only thing keeping him alive. In his presence the constant struggle of the breathing apparatus, heart regulator, and other machines can be heard. These are frequently ignored however, as those few with which he has direct contact are often far more distracted by the hollow, deathly rattle that is his voice. Style of dress: Pestilence is never seen without a crisp, black business suit with a blood red tie. The suit (or suits) seems slightly too large for him, as if fitted for a man of a greater frame. Personality: Pestilence, understandably, is rarely in good humor. He has few words to speak to anyone, and certainly none to spare for fools. His directives to his underlings are curt and precise, and he has no tolerance for inefficiency or waste. He checks the watch that dangles limply from his thin wrist almost incessantly to ensure that his schemes are proceeding according to schedule. Brief (or not so brief) bio: Seeing him in his current state, it becomes difficult to imagine Pestilence as having a mundane origin; he seems to exist outside the normal human cycle of life and death altogether. Nonetheless, Jean Frollo did once lead a normal life, insofar as a spectacularly wealthy and successful businessman can be considered normal. However, as his power and influence grew, so did his corruption. He began to become obsessed with cheating death, the last obstacle he had not yet overcome, and it was this goal that eventually led him to Emperor X. Pestilence has been in the service of Emperor X longer than anyone can remember. Locked within his skull are most likely the secrets to the origins of X, his army, and his empire, but Pestilence is not one prone to forfeiting secrets. Skillz(or skills): Pestilence's incredibly weak state leaves him unable to perform any manner of physical activity, and combat is absolutely out of the question. His real talents lie in his exceptional cunning, his ruthless efficiency, and his utter disregard for any measure of human decency. He maintains a tortuously complex network of plots and machinations that enable him to stay one step ahead of his enemies at every turn. Just when you think you finally have him, it turns out that he's had you the entire time. Other: Pestilence, by decree of Emperor X, is the newly appointed ruler of Europe. He manages his new domain with a sprawling, oppressive bureaucracy that imposes dictatorial restrictions on the beleaguered population, and his troops are quick to silence any dissenters. Personal variant of the virus(Optional)*: Pestilence's particular strain of the Byoukyou virus was designed to be more subtle than those of his counterparts. It begins by attacking the subconscious, causing terrifying nightmares. As the disease progresses, it begins to effect other areas of the mind, causing paranoia, hallucinations, and dementia. As a side effect, unintended or not, the infected individual begins to display psychic sensitivity, which only exacerbates the fear and paranoia. Often this is accompanied by a physical mutation, such as a third eye in the forehead, that somehow aids or symbolizes these new "powers." After the major governments of Europe capitulated to Emperor X, only a few pockets of entrenched resistance remained. Pestilence released the virus into the entrenched areas, and in a few days all that Pestilence's troops had to do was march in, clean up the remains of the resulting bloodbath, and round up the few raving lunatics who remained alive. Ha! I knew I'd heard that name somewhere. I needed one that sounded European and it was the first one that came to mind. Although, to answer your question, probably not, seeing as Claude fell off of Notre Dame without having any children... |

Which was sad for future villains-to-be. Claude was such a great villain. |
