Twisted Wars
Roleplay by Sariace the Demonslayer

That's right, I'm making this roleplay again. I've made this roleplay in numerous different places, and am now adapting it to this site for your pleasure.

Story:

On a large island in the middle of the Sea, (kinda like... half the size of Greenland) a War takes place between the forces of "Good" and "Evil". Both sides compete for one thing: The stones. these stones are founts of elemental energy, with enough power to allow any one side an incredible advantage in the war for control of the Island.

These stones are said to come from the heavens, as a blessing from each side's respective gods to help them win control of the island. yet each side argues over which side was truly meant to possess such items of power, and each avidly seeks out these stones.

Each side prays to their Gods on a regular basis to help them achieve victory. The goddess of Light, Mist, presides over all that is good and just. the dark god, Haze, Presides over all that is Evil and corrupt. Both gods would love to see the other dead, so that they may become the one true god.

The side of good, led by King Galandir, claims they are all about justice and freedom, and wants to use the stones to finally be rid of evil once and for all.

The side of evil, Led by Kind Morgoroth, claims it was their destiny to control the island, and the forces of good most be disposed of, only getting in the way of their divine right.

Each side wants the stones so terribly bad, that they will do anything to find the people who possess one, or locate it before the other side manages to. Even if good must use dirty tactics (something that they claim they never do), and Evil might even end up having to be good (something that they don't particularly enjoy to do.)

Choose a side to help win the war, or blaze your own path, the fate of the Island of Polk (yes, I just made that up. subject to change.) rests in the hands of those who fight the war.

Rules:

(ooh, the part everybody loves!)

1. Fill out the Profile COMPLETELY and as originally as possible. keep in mind that no matter which faction you choose to join, you don't have to be completely good, completely evil, or completely neutral.

3. do not Godmod. period.
4. No 'txt talk' or I'll DOUBLE bomb you.
5. Romance is fine, but don't have it be the focus of your entire roleplay. Put it on the back burner. and especially don't cyber. that's for the mature section, people.
6. no one liners, or you die.
7. Only people who possess stones may use magical abilities, otherwise, stick to your weaponry or slap-fighting ( I don't know about that last one, but that would be hilarious to read.)
8. you're going to have to impress me in order to have a stone right off the bat.
9. Don't try and bribe me for one, either
10. Put 'Sariace the Demonslayer is my lord and master' after your profile to show you read my rules.
11. Feel free to give feedback and story ideas.

((Ooh, sounds fun. You wouldn't mind me joining would you?))

Username: Natomie
Character Name: Runa
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Faction: Neutral
Appearance: A woman with long gray hair, flowing down to almost her waist, stands on a field looking at the remains of a once great battle. Her skin is the color of the cherry blossoms, sometimes lighter. She stands quite tall, taller than a regular sized man as the wind blows her hair forward. Her lips are a soft pink and her eyes are a shade of teal. On her wrists, stretching to the middle of her of her elbow and hand was a rough material, pink like cherry blossoms. It held an elaborate design, beautiful yet threatening. The woman wore a gold necklace attached to a red cloth that held tightly to her neck. Her clothing is a soft white with brown and a deep red, large, ribbon. She wears a long skirt that on the front of it has a beautiful silk piece with a gorgeous triangle pattern. It was designed with gold and red threads. On her thigh there is a band, gold and red once more. The design is the marking of her family. As this woman turns from the scene her bare, callused feet scratch on an old dirt path.
Personality: Runa is always hard and cold and she never talks with feeling. You can never really tell what she feels of you, the most emotion you see her give is a raise of an eye brow and a half smile. The only time she gives a real smile depends on what you're doing. Even then the smile is quite small.
Biography: Runa grew up in this war; her friends left her and her father went to war. Her father taught her the way of the bow and arrow before he left. Her village and family was attacked, the light side going after everyone. Once most of them were gone they took what Runa later found out was actually one of the stones. She never knew which one it was though. This is the reason she wears the band on her thigh. Runa never chose a side but contributes to the war though. She formed a group with others like her two years ago and they now help those who are threatened by the two sides.
Weapons: Runa is skilled with the bow and arrows. Her arrows are a dark brown as well as her arrows. (If you need a longer explanation as to what they look like I can put it with either the weapons or the appearance.)
Stone: At the moment she is carrying the stone of Clairvoyance.

Sariace the Demonslayer is my lord and master...

((Again, hope you don't mind me joining.))
Wicked: amazing songs, amazing play, and a truly amazing book! I love it and I suggest it to all of you!

I don't mind you joining at all. I'm glad you joined. And thanks for the link, gabe.

I Might give you a stone, but I could use a few more stone ideas before I start giving them away. I'm considering having a couple of the same element, but different power levels...

Well, I've done a thread like this in another role playing sight (Much different story line. Only similarity is that there were stones). If I can dig that thread up I might find other stones, either way I'll help you there!! Elements are what you could call one of my, forte.

I am very interested in this RP idea, I'm waiting to see how it developed before creating my character. I'm throwing some ideas around in my head.
I do know, for sure, I want my character to be on the evil side, but I haven't fully developed her background yet.
I like just the 9 stones, one per element for the simple fact that the island isn't that big, and finding stones of such importance should be a real challenge... but multiple stones of each element could yield a longer story in the end... I don't know if that helps.

You can always say only... # people get a stone. You can choose which ones were found that way everyone will really have to look for them. The more stones there are the easier it is to find them which means it could make it actually shorter, this is because of the size. So...Yeah....

I concur with Natomie. Set a number of stones that characters possess, let us know the number that has already been found (which side possesses them), and then we can look for the rest...? Is that right natomie? Thats how I took it.
I would also like to know some more background on the gods of each side... and... if there are any major cities or areas we should know about.

Yes that would be just about what I meant. I also like what you said with the major cities and god (goddess) backgrounds.

Interesting, indeed.

Character Name: Edorad.
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Faction: Neutral.
Appearance: A huge man, Edorad stands at 6'3 feet tall. His short hair is of a dirty blonde color, while his skin is slightly tanned. He has a rather wild, un-kept beard of the same color of his hair. His eyes are small, and of a dark green color.
Personality: A rather calm person, Edorad doesn't really care about what happens around him. He's hardly offended by anything, and will very rarely take action. He loves sarcasm, but whenever he is in a fight he will become serious and concentrate only in that.
Biography: Edorad was born to a warrior-turned pacifist and a shopkeeper(Yes, a shopkeeper.). Even while his father told him about the horrors of war and the countless of lives that were lost for stupid reasons, Edorad had always felt a fascination towards battle; a fascination that blinded him. He begged for years for his father to teach him how to use different weapons. After some time his father agreed, but under one condition: Edorad would never kill a living being, not even if his life was endangered. The years passed, and even if both his parents had already died, Edorad didn't break his promise; however, he became the very creature his father despised: someone who fights for a stupid reason, just for the heck of it. But Edorad did respect his teachings, and refused to take a side, staying neutral at the same time he did what he enjoyed the most.
Weapons: Pretty skilled with axes, profficient but not exceptional with swords, and a total loser with bows and arrows.
Stone: None.

Sariace the DEmonslayer is my lord and master...

I know it's unoriginal but at least I tried.

I've seen less original than that.

Alright, methinks that each side gets one stone (Good, neutral, Evil) right off the bat. I'll choose a represenative from each faction who I deem the most worth to choose a stone from the list.

the rest must be found, still considering where they might be hidden. When they're all found, it's major war times!

The stones will be stealable, or you can pass them on to someone else.

Whichever faction gets them all wins the war. If neutral wins, a compromise is made.

I'll post a profile with whatever faction lacks people. I'll do it when we get... 7 people. less if we aren't doing that great.

Alright, sounds good! Which side has which stone? And have you decided to hand them out to characters? I'll base my character around whichever you choose.
And what about the gods? Do you have something in mind... or is that up to our creative discretion?

Just for that, I'm joining. Expect my profile to be up in a couple hours!

Also, for the stones I propose rainbow fluorite for clairvoyance.

I Know evil should get Onyx for sure. Necromancy is always evil. Light... I'm thinking Healing, but I'm not sure. No idea what neutral would have.

You can always add stone ideas!

And for the gods, I hadn't really thought of anything for them, so.. have at it.

EDIT: Oooh, shiny rock. and what the heck is claivoyance? i've never heard anybody use that word, so i have no clue.

Clairvoyance is the ability to see the future, like an augur.

Also, am I allowed to use profanity in my profile?

Oh, Now I see.

As in, swearing? That's fine. i've seen little kids use the worst word you possibly can, so it's not like you're going to damage anyone.

EDIT:Alright, rainbow Fluorite is now added. I think neutral gets that one. beign able to see into the future would be benerficial for the neutral side. I can see any one side using it alot, though.

Still looking for god Ideas, and names of major places, and cities if you feel creative enough. You could make a map or something even, if you felt like it.

I can't do stuff like that because I'm not that great at computer drawing, and I don't have a scanner, so.

ruby's in a volcano, i know that for sure. I'm thinking Golugore volcano.
sapphire could be in water or an icy wasteland. Actually, ice should be another stone entirely...

Really, I feel ice and water are the same thing. Yes they are quite different but ice and water are the same element. Water is the element and the only way to create ice is with water, am I wrong?

You do have a point. but I'm mostly just rambling right now. I guess too many people find water and ice to be different, so let's not fall pray to something like that. So the water stone will include turning water to ice as well, and the fire stone can include melting stuff and lava. (since lava is pretty much liquid fire)

Character Name: Saeris

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Faction: Evil

Appearance: Posted Image

Personality: Saeris seems much more innocent than her true intentions and uses it to her advantage. She often has to rely on manipulating others into helping her since her battle skills are a bit lacking. She chooses to keep her visions, past and intentions hidden and lies often if she thinks it will get her ahead. She is more of a child than she would ever admit and is often bossy and inpatient. When angry she acts out irrationally. It seems the more she uses the powers the stones give her the more hard it is to control herself or her anger and she can be quite merciless and cruel. She will stop at nothing in her quest and in the end cares for no one and has an icy heart. Anyone who dies in her path or is hurt for her cause is only a means to an end.

Biography: Saeris was abandoned as an infant and left on the steps of a forest temple (serving the good gods) in a small village on the west coast. She was found with one of the stones and always kept it close, not knowing of its power. She was taken in and studied the ways of the temple, but was considered an outsider for the most part. She was plagued with nightmares beginning early in her childhood riddled with dark images, carnage and death. Because of this many in the village and temple considered her strange only adding to the stigma of her not fitting in. She was considered an outcast. She did have one friend, however, a boy in the village named Rohan who she developed an extremely strong bond for and harbored strong feelings for him. One winter night she found him slain and with his dying words he confessed his feelings for her too. She was found holding his lifeless body, covered in his blood. The village believed it was her doing and she fled in fear of being executed. Now completely alone, she ventured into the unknown world before her. She succumbed to the harsh winter and as she lay dying she had one last dream. A demon, and an agent of the dark god came to her. He told her his name was Samael and that he would save her if she joined forces with the evil King. Being raised in a temple of light she denied him. He then told her of the stones being sought and their power and the power contained in her own and told her that with them she could bring back her beloved Rohan. She agreed and awoke, alive and well. Pulling herself out of the snow she questioned her nightmares reality, and if it was real why did the dark god need her? But one thing was clear, she didn't care as long as it meant there was a chance she could bring her love Rohan back from the grave. Her fight for the dark king began and so did her search for the elemental stones of power.

She first travelled back to her village, hoping to find the body of Rohan to bring him back somehow with her stone, but found it was too late. In a fit a petulant anger, frustration, sadness and need to revenge on the villagers that had made her an outcast she burned down the village and the temple. She spend some time there practicing her Necromancy on the lifeless bodies before continuing on to search for more stones, while meanwhile her nightmares worsen.

Weapons: She carries a pair of katanas, but doesn't use them well. She usually relies on others to fight her battles for her and often surrounds herself with muscles.

Stone: The onyx

And about the water/ice debate... Yeah, they're the same element, but they yeild the possibility of different powers. So in that respect, I think there should be separate stone for each?

Me I would say two separate stones for ice and water myself as well.

Now then... bio time! I blame Hilf for this, completely blame her...

Username: Griff Highwind
Character Name: Craig Masterson the Second
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Faction: Good
Appearance: Posted Image

Personality: Craig is the sort that when most folks meet him one word comes to mind: eccentric. A brilliant man, he's also a pacifist who abhors fighting to a great deal and will try his best to stop a fight from breaking out. He believes everything can be resolved with words and tea... tea with cookies of course. He indulges in problem solving and chess, and also plays a nice fiddle, violin, and cello.

One will never get a rise out of him, as he a perpetual state of calm. He radiates it really, and never lets things ruffle him. Do they irritate him? One will never know, as it is also truly impossible to get to know Craig. Although he is kind and his words soft, he keeps a distance from people, a constant shield. He is also good with advice, and figures.

But one cannot help but wonder, really, what does the man hide?

Biography: Craig has lived in the same town for pretty much all of his life. He came from a household where his mother and Father were away for much of the day, summoned to aid in various skirmishes and battles. Craig whittled away the hours at home, devoting himself to matters of the mind. His Dad and Mom after all were the great fighters, and he knew with his lean build he could not compare. But he wanted to help them in other ways.

That wasn't to say he didn't know self defense. His Father had insisted upon it, even if Craig insisted he didn't need it. During one of the times his parents were away, he found himself in a rough little skirmish with a lad his age. The boy pushed Craig, who found himself trying to regather his own patience. After a punch however, instincts kicked in, and Craig made use of his self defense and punched back.

Shame that the lad he was fighting fell and hit his head against a rock, killing him instantly. Horrified, Craig vowed never to hit anyone again. It was a stupid reason to die, there could NEVER be a good enough reason to die in a fight. And as such, he took to finding alternative methods, designing little bags of things he could carry that would aid. Smoke, sap, you name it he used it.

It has earned him more than a few scars, and quite a few tips to a healer, but Craig has never physically struck a person since. And he stretches that to others as well, deciding that all fights should be avoided to stop the death. Hes known as a town mediator, peacekeeper. So how did he end up on the side of good? After heading of of town to get supplies, he found it ravaged by the evil side. Many of his old friends as well, and he knew he had to try some way from the inside to hep stop destruction like this...

Weapons: He doesn't carry weapons, being a pacifist, but rather has a few devices and tools. These tools he created himself and have a variety of functions, from releasing handmade nets, to sticky things, to sap, gum, syrup... a huge variety of non-lethal items.

Stone: Id be interested to see what he did with one, but with his pacifist nature heh...

I forgot this last night... Sariace the Demonslayer is my lord and master!
