Rathe looked around observing the environment. He was wondering if one of the gems was actually in the forest. He had tracked the information down by finding several clues but he didnt know if there was a hidden temple in this forest and if there was who would know its location. He decided it would be alright to ask. "I have a question im searching for the gems and according to some of the information i found its possible that one of the gems may be located in a hidden temple within this forest. Do either of you happen to know where it is or someone who does?" Rathe of course had been using myth's and legends to find possible locations of the gems. So far everywhere he looked everything turned out to be false. He was however confident that the gem was in this forest he heard the same story several times from several races from many towns.

~ Katashi Toru Akechi ~

Fuzen the crow was still on Katashi's shoulder as the man, well oni actually, walked through the forest. There was a malign air around him. Suddenly, the crow open her beak and a shrill 'caw' came out. Katashi just shushed her. "I know, my love. I feel it, too. Something or someone dangerous to us is near. We must be swift. I want to avoid any confrontations." He spoke quietly. When he was done talking, he began to run. After a few moments of darting past trees, he saw someone up ahead. Fuzen was quiet, but she gripped his shoulder, warningly. Katashi slowed down to a walk, then he made his way towards the woman, noiselessly. He hid behind trees so he wouldn't be seen. The person appeared to be a young female human. Her eyes were brown. Her hair was wonderfully long and dark black, like midnight. He clothing was simple, but Katashi found her beautiful.

For the first time in his life, Katashi was nervous. He wasn't sure what to do. Should he just stay behind the tree and gaze at her, or should he jump out from behind it and go talk to her? Or should he just walk away, to get away from the danger he felt was near. The danger wasn't from her, he knew. However, he didn't want that dangerous person or thing to find him. He didn't feel like fighting someone right now. If he did go talk to this young woman, what would he say? After all, he was evil and this girl couldn't be anything of the sort. She simply did not look as if she wanted to be involved in anything bad or sinister. Could he act as if he was good, or would she see right through his act? Maybe it would be best if he just walk away? Katashi found he couldn't make up his mind, so he just stood there behind the tree, gazing at her.

[[this is meant for Natomie by the way]]

~ Akihiko Takeshi Akechi ~

When Akihiko heard what Ayora had to say, his body stiffened. ...Katashi Toru Akechi... Quickly, he turned to her. "Katashi? He is here? In this very forest? In which direction is he? I must go after him!" Akihiko said this rather fast. He almost couldn't believe his luck. The man he was looking for was so close! What did the girl mean by 'not too long ago?' Just a few moments ago? Or as far away as an hour? If she had just come across Katashi, then he couldn't be that far away. It was true that he could move quite fast when needed. However, Akihiko thought he could caught up with him. He just had to. Katashi still had to be near, for Akihiko's sake. Actually, for everyone's sake. If his uncle was so close, then Akihiko could take care of him now. And if he was taken care of, then there wouldn't be as much of a run for the Gems. Akihiko assumed, there could still be people out there to use the Gems for evil. However, Katashi would be the real enemy. He was quite powerful already. If he freed Xav, then he could become ten times more powerful. That would not be good for the rest of the island. The land would be covered in a second darkness.

Akihiko's face was becoming hot. He was filling with excitement at the prospect of finding his uncle. How proud his grandfather would be if he got rid of his uncle this soon. Actually, it hadn't been 'that soon.' Akihiko has already been wandering around for about a month. However, Katashi would be a formidable enemy, a very formidable enemy. He wouldn't be easy to beat. But Akihiko had been trained by him, so that would make it easier, wouldn't it? After all, Katashi must have showed him at least a few of his battle secrets. Wouldn't it be easier to beat someone that trained you? Especially since Akihiko had completed his training. And to do that, he had to be Katashi, which he did. But his grandfather told him Katashi had become stronger since then. How much stronger, though? Would Akihiko be able to beat him, or would he just make a fool of himself? But no matter how bad the chances of beating his uncle were, he would have to try.

The two that were with Akihiko, the human girl and the male elf, might think he was crazy for wanting to go after someone. After all, it appeared all he had weapon-wise was a bow, which was strapped to his back. However, someone might think him a deadly assassin who needed just a bow to kill someone. Someone that hid in the trees when he killed. But there was more to Akihiko than he let most people see.

Still, Akihiko was turned to Ayora. "Are you sure it was Katashi? He should have been wearing black, gold, and red armor, and had a katana. He looks sort of like me, I suppose." He said that sourly. "But he's got red instead of blue in his hair. His eyes are red, and he should have been wearing a patch on his right eye. The man you saw fit this description, yes? If so, I must go after him immediately!" He was sure that the man she spoke of was indeed Katashi, but it wouldn't kill him to make sure.

Akihiko looked Ayora up and down whenever she mentioned fighting Katashi. Then, he looked back up at her face. "He fought you and then left you alone without a scratch? That is strange...Usually, he would have tried to kill you and wouldn't have left you alone until he hurt you pretty bad, if not kill you all together. He is quite...warmongering. Lucky for you, though. He must not have been in one of his 'kill-everything-in-sight' moods." He said. Then, he quickly added "Not that you wouldn't have been able to fight against him. I am sure you are quite a good fighter. It's just that...well, he's not an easy person to beat." Akihiko said this last part with a frown.

"He's probably off in the direction you came from, I suppose? I must go after him before he gets too far away. If you want to come along with me, I do not mind. However, please be more cautious around him. He can be quite dangerous when he wants to be. But if you have plans of your own and will not come with me, I understand. I hope we shall meet again, though. You are two lovely people." Then, he turned so he faced both of them and bowed. When he was done with that, he turned to Rathe. "I have also heard the story of the temple, long ago. I should have remembered it. I do not know exactly where it is, but I'm sure I could help you find it. If you want to come along with me, feel free. However, I can not go immediately to that temple. As I told you, I must go after Katashi first. I will not waste further time explaining the details of things right now. Feel free to follow me if you wish."

Then, Akihiko turned away from them swiftly and ran in the direction that Ayora had come from. He flew between trees, listening and looking for Katashi and not wasting any more time. He was bent on finding his uncle. He had to find him!

Rathe ran after the man he wasnt going to waste any time catching up. He said he had also heard the tale and offered to help he wasnt going to waste a chance like this. "So who is this man you are after?" Rathe asked as he caught up with him. It wasnt hard catching him since he had speed greater that of most men being an elf. "Sorry by the way i didnt happen to catch your name."

Runa had found her way to a small spring and she had taken out the pins and ties. She started to tie up her hair slowly as if to saver the peace. She did not really need the water that much she just found it relaxing.

Soon she tied the last band and her hair was much shorter now. She looked into the blue spring and put her hands in it. Runa smiled at the feeling, how calm and cool it looked and felt.

Runa bent over to take a drink of the water but felt something. A presence, evil and strong. Upon feeling this aura, the woman dropped the water and turned around. She saw nothing but she did not take these feelings lightly so she ordered, "If there is someone there then come here at one."

~ Akihiko Takeshi Akechi ~

Akihiko didn't slow down as the elf came after him. He knew elves could run very fast and now was not the time to waste. "My name is Akihiko Takeshi Akechi. The man I'm after is Katashi Toru Akechi. He is my uncle. About six months ago, he betrayed our clan. After he did that, he left in search of the Gems. I know a lot of people are after the Gems, to keep them safe. But he has other plans. He wants to release Xav and gain power. That is why I must stop him. To get vengeance on him for what he did to our clan, and to stop him from getting the Gems. I do not know if he has any yet, but if he does, I must get them from him. I am responsible for him and I must stop him. Hopefully, he is still near..."

Akihiko kept running, not slowing his pace but accelerating it instead. He had to catch Katashi. His face was full of determination. He knew he could find Katashi. After a few minutes, he came to the place where Katashi and Ayora had fought, though he didn't know it. He also didn't know that he was coming close to his target...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~ Katashi Toru Akechi ~

Katashi watched the young woman as she put her hair up. What pretty hair, he thought, why would she put it up? Then, she walked over to the spring. He watched as she turned around to look in his general direction. I've been noticed. He thought, with a smirk. A soft laugh was sent her way. It was mocking and ugly. Then, he spoke. "You sure are commanding, pretty little girl. What makes you think you can boss around a being more powerful than yourself?" Katashi's words were playful. He still hid behind the trees and their shadows, so he could not be seen.

"So do you know where he might be going" Ayora asked.

*~*

Shizuro a dark angel also from Shadow nation was flying high in the sky in search of his little sister. "Where is she where is that pathetic little human" Shizuro said as flew through the tree's and over branches. "I must find her so father can destroy her"

Runa laughed, mockingly just as his was. "Little girl? What makes you think I'm little?" she laughed once more before sensing another strong presence. Strong like this man's yet, different. It seemed weaker, but not as dark as this man's did.

She took her attention of the presence and turned to the one behind the tree. Instead of answering his question, she asked him one, "Why is it that you do not show me your face? Are you afraid?"

Runa knew she should have been afraid and deep in her heart, somewhere tucked away, she was. This man had much power, which was obvious. Whether he was planning to attack her or not, was unclear to her.

Katashi smiled, though he was still in the shadows. The young woman wouldn't be able to see it. "I call you little because I am probably about twenty years older than you. That's all." Fuzen sat on his shoulder silently. Then, the young woman spoke of him being afraid. The Oni man took offense to that. "I am not afraid. Maybe I just like watching fair ladies from afar." He said playfully. "But if you want me to come out, I will. I am not frightened of you."

After he said that, Katashi stepped out from behind the trees and into the light. Fuzen didn't seem to like her owner showing himself, for she crowed loudly in annoyance and glowered at the young woman in front of them. However, Katashi didn't seem to care. He just shushed her. "Oh Fuzen, what is wrong? She's not that scary, is she?" He asked, looking at the human from the corner of his eye. The corner of his mouth was curved slightly, like he was trying to hold back a smile. Then, the crow seemed to sense something. She began flapping her wings around and cawed loudly. Katashi didn't pay any heed to her. "Just be quiet, so I can actually have a conversation with this young lady!" He said, obviously agitated. Then, he grabbed Fuzen from his shoulder and flung her up into the air. "There, go fly around for a while." The bird did what she was told, but not before giving her owner an evil look and shrill cry. Then, she disappeared.

Katashi turned back to the human woman. "Do you still think I'm afraid?" He asked with a smile.

Runa stared at the man from head to toe, looking at his features and other important things. After a minute of looking, she looked eye to eye with the man until she turned her attention to the bird that seemed to be upset with Runa.

After hushing the bird in an indirect manner, the bird started to flap its wings and cawing annoyingly. The Oni seemed to be even more annoyed than Runa was by Fuzen's loud cawing and after shushing her once more with no remorse he through the bird off his shoulder.

The human felt bad for the bird as is glowered down at him as he gave her his orders. Fuzen flew away after this and left the human and the Oni alone in the small clearing.

"Do you still think I'm afraid?" he asked with a smile.

Runa smiled at his question and then started to walk in a slow circle around him.

"I guess not...oh, what was your name?" Runa suddenly stopped and asked him.

Elaina stood on a road with a young little cat on her shoulder. They had nothing but a blanket with her tarot cards and a fake fortune-reading globe. "Peasants and their beliefs they should trust us and use the tarot cards, not this fake glass orb." The gypsy was talking to the cat whose name was Coal. A silly name her "parents" had given it.

As they walked and talked outside of the village, she heard a horse, no many, many horses. There was also some screaming in yelling and Elaina thought it was mob of angry villagers who she could easily get rid of.
She was wrong.

These were no simple villagers but actually soldiers, who were they after? Elaina nonetheless. A simple gypsy woman who had made the mistake of using the glass orb to read the headman's fortune.
"Mew…" the cat said as if to say, "Idiot…"
Ms. Timbaci then started to run, swerving through the trees and down the road. She did this until a turn came where a mountain stood. Elaina knew they were still after her and though Coal meowed in horror of what she was about to do, the witch started to climb up the mountain until she found a bush to hide behind.

Katashi stayed where he was as she began to rotate around him. "Name? If I give you mine, you must give me yours..." He said with a smile. He turned slightly, to look at her. He didn't have the slightest idea of what her name was, but he was sure it was something beautiful. As for the way he had just treated Fuzen, Katashi paid no mind to that. Sometimes that bird could be such a pain. He swore she only did it just to anger him. Because honestly, what reason could she have had to act like that? The woman in front of him was just a human, so she was no threat at all. So why should Fuzen put up a fight?

----------------------------------------

~ Akihiko Takeshi Akechi ~

Akihiko continued running ever faster and ever closer to Katashi, though he didn't know it. To Ayora's question, he shook his head. "I have no idea." He admitted. He felt weak for not knowing where Katashi was going, what he was doing right now. Oh, he just had to catch up to his uncle.

After a few moments, Akihiko thought he could hear some water up ahead, like a river or creek. He ran past some trees, and before he could stop himself, he ran into someone. They were both knocked to the ground. Akihiko looked over at the person he had knocked down, about to apologize for what he had done. However, he stopped himself and jumped up quickly. There was surprise and anger in his eyes. It was him!

----------------------------------------

~ Katashi Toru Akechi and Akihiko Takeshi Akechi ~

All of a sudden something hit Katashi from behind, knocking him to the ground. He looked up to see what it was, and a wide smile appeared on his face. Slowly, he stood up, facing the young man. "So old Sekisyusai has sent you to get rid of me, huh? What a stupid old man." His voice was full of amusement.

Akihiko gave him a pure look of hatred. "Katashi!" He yelled. "What has happened to you? You think you can do whatever you want? I will not allow you to insult Grandfather like that!"

Katashi shook his head. "Oh, he might be your grandfather, but he is nothing to me." He said, angrily. "I know what he did to my mother!" His uncovered eye blazed with malice and hatred.

Akihiko shook his head as well. "You really don't know what happened, then? Do you really think that he killed Grandmother?" His voice seemed to have softened.

Katashi spat. "I don't think that's what happened, I know!"

"No, that's not what happened! When you were little, you got were involved in an accident and you lost your eye! Grandmother gave hers up for you. Grandfather took out her eye and put it in where yours used to be. It's the one with the eye patch on it. That's Grandmother's! Grandfather tried to help her afterwards, but she didn't recover. He didn't kill her!"

Rathe stood back a bit but his bow was drawn with three arrows notched to it. He was ready for the eventuality that a fight might break out. If so he could easily dispatch anyone that tried to approach him. He knew why Akihiko was after his uncle but Rathe felt that the gems were more important. He didnt have any real family so he never had family disputes. This added up with his caretakers were peace lovers he never fully understood the point of family arguements. "I thought you were gonna kill him Akihiko. If he is truly trying to capture the gems for evil then he needs to be discarded. It may sound a little harsh but with the fate of the world hanging by a thread it's not safe to let a enemy live for too long."

Runa nodded in agreement and smiled slightly.

"My name is Ru-" she was cut off as a man came running through the trees and came crashing into the Oni. "Na..." she let the last part roll off her tongue for a moment as she started to process what had just happened.

She listened to the two of them argue for a moment as she found out this man's name was Katashi. Apparently, he was some kind of traitor and this other Oni was supposed to kill Katashi.

An elf came upon the scene. Runa had not noticed him until after Katashi and the other had finished fighting.

When he told 'Akihiko' that, he should kill him Runa glared at both of them. Even if her belief system was messed up, she still found it wrong to kill someone.

~ Katashi Toru Akechi and Akihiko Takeshi Akechi ~

Katashi laughed, an evil laugh. "Do you really think I care what happened? I'm still looking for the Gems." He said in an amused tone.

"You bastard, you-" Akihiko seemed very angry, but he was cut off when the Elf caught up and spoke. '...he needs to be discarded...it's not safe to let a enemy live for too long.' He nodded, heeding the Elf's words. He thought for a brief second, that if he told Katashi the truth, he might change his ways. Akihiko almost hoped for the change. But now he knew that would never happen. His uncle/trainer was evil, and he could not turn back now. And Akihiko couldn't go back on his promise to his grandfather. He couldn't possibly go back to the village, without first disposing of Katashi. He had to do it, no matter how much he wished for the old times, before Katashi had changed. When everyone got along.

Katashi noticed the Elf and gave him a venomous stare. However for once, he didn't say anything. Most of the time if he didn't like someone, he would say so, and be extremely nasty doing it. But this one time, he didn't say anything, almost as if he didn't know what to say. There were several reasons why he didn't like the Elf. First off, because he was an Elf. Katashi didn't like those creatures, for some Godforsaken reason. Another one was that the Elf seemed to be on Akihiko's side. Two against one, unless the girl wanted to fight. However, that didn't seem likely because she was giving everyone glares. Not that Katashi was at a disadvantage. He liked things like this, because once he killed them, he could brag about how it was two against one and he still won. The last reason was because the Elf was pointing a bow at him. They hadn't even drawn their weapons yet, and he was already being threatened!

"Do not worry, master Elf. I will do what I must." Akihiko said in a serious voice. It was strange, though. The only weapon he seemed to have was a bow and a couple of arrows. And Katashi had a katana strapped to his side. The others would probably wonder why Akihiko didn't have any other weapons. But Akihiko wasn't a normal person. He was an Oni, and Oni were...different. He put his hands together in front of him. Something seemed to appear between his palms, and it extended out of them and above, in front of his face. It was a katana. There was no scabbard on it. The hilt was dark blue, which had a small dark green jewel in it. The blade was like any other. It was silver-colored, sharp on one end, and on the other, it was blunt. The katana appeared, and Akihiko was holding it in front of his face, the sharp edge turned sideways towards Katashi.

Katashi glanced back over to his nephew. Showoff, why doesn't he just keep it out, like I do? His hand reached to the hilt of his katana. It was gold and dark brown and had a red jewel in it. The scabbard was just the same, but without the jewel. He pulled on the hilt, revealing the blade. He pointed it at Akihiko. "So you want to play, do you?" He asked, his tone serious enough. "You would have been better to leave me alone. Now, I'll have five lives on my head." As he finished speaking, his lips curved into a smirk.

Akihiko shook his head. "I will not allow you to get away with what you've done, or what you want to do. We will end this, now." His face was grave.

Katashi backed up a few steps and then got into position. His body was turned sideways. One leg was straightened, the foot sitting on the ground in front of him. The other leg bent, and that foot was set underneath him. Both arms were bent in front of his torso, gripping the weapon, which stuck out almost straight, towards his nephew.

Both Akihiko's legs were bent underneath him. His right elbow was up near his face, going towards the sky. His other elbow bent towards Katashi. The tip of the blade faced the ground.

Katashi smiled at Akihiko. "So it's come to this? Sure you'll be able to dispose of your trainer, your own uncle?" His plan was to mess with his nephew's mind. That was so fun to do.

However, Akihiko seemed to ignore the comment. He didn't reply to it, and he had a straight face, with no emotion whatsoever.

Rathe gripped his bow a little harder watching the two of them square off."If he doesnt kill you then i will don't make any mistake about that human. The likes of you shouldn't exist, for the gems are meant to lock away evil not release it." He hated how he was acting right now. It was barbaric for an elf but just seeing this man angered him. It reminded him of the people who attacked his parents. He had met them one day while visiting his parents graves and he could never forget that day. The air around him rippled a little bit and he released the wind building up inside of him and flew up to a high branch standing there watching the scene below.

All Ayora could do was just watch she couldn't help Akihiko there was nothing she could do even if there was she was afraid. And since her brother is coming after her she was even more scared thinking of what he would do.

Shizuro flew through the sky for a little while longer until he spotted her. He swooped down and landed right infront of Ayora. "Well well if it isn't my dear little sister Ayora what a nice surprise" Shizuro said.

"What are you doing here did he send you to find me" Ayora said.

"You could say that he really wants to see you" Shizuro said.

"I will never go back to him" Ayora said.

~ Katashi Toru Akechi and Akihiko Takeshi Akechi ~

Katashi laughed at the Elf's comments. He spoke to the pointy eared being, but kept his eyes on his nephew. "You think we are simple humans? Then, I guess you are quite the ignorant Elf. Akihiko and I are Onis. And Elves are supposed to be wise. Honestly." Katashi ended his little rant in an exasperated tone, a sigh, and shake of his head. Then, his face wore a blank expression once more. Again he spoke, but this time to Akihiko. "But never mind the pansy up in the tree. Akihiko, we have business to take care of."

Akihiko scowled at his uncle. "Do not act like everything's fine! You will take me seriously!" His icy blue eyes were blazing with a hatred that usually wasn't seen in them.

"Don't act so tough! You know you cannot beat me." Katashi spit. His voice was like venom. "Sekisyusai might have sent you, but you're still no match for me. And you know that!"

Akihiko shook his head violently. "Stop putting me down! You will take me seriously! I WILL BEAT YOU!" That said, the young man jumped forward, thrusting the blade at his uncle. Ever since that cursed day, he had hated Katashi. It had been an awful day. It showed Akihiko the man that his uncle, his trainer, really was. After all the training, all the trust... And to think Akihiko had respected that son of a bitch!

.....Flashback.....

It was early in the morning. The sun was just coming up. Akihiko, looking the same as ever but with different clothing (he wore a jinbei, something like Japanese pajamas), sat up on his bed. He had just had a nightmare, but after he woke, he forgot what it was. Did it have something to do with his uncle? No, that didn't make any sense. The young man shook it off and stood up. He began changing into his normal everyday clothes, which consisted of a uwagi, zubon, and uwa-obi. (It was basically a martial arts uniform. The uwagi was the shirt, zubon the pants, and uwa-obi the belt.) Halfway through changing, a scream met his ears. Akihiko lost his balance and almost fell to the ground. "What the..." Hurriedly, he put the rest of his clothes on and ran to his paper door.

Pushing it open, he jumped into the hall, looking left and right. His mother appeared at the end of the left side of the hallway. She rushed towards him. "Oh Akihiko! Katashi has gone out of his mind! He's attacking people out there!" Akihiko looked at her with wide eyes. "Katashi-sensei? No, that cannot be true." The older woman frowned at him. "Don't you say that! I would not lie about something as serious as this. Now get out there and see for yourself!" With that, she grabbed his hand and pulled him down the hall the way she had come. She hurried outside, pulling him along. The two made it outside. Akihiko could hear yelling and blades crashing together, the sounds of battle. She let go of his hand and pushed him towards the street. Walking over to the edge of the dirt road, he looked to his right.

Just as his mother had told him. Katashi, his uncle and teacher, was in the middle of the street, fighting his brother, Daichi. "Daichi-haku!" (uncle) Daichi turned around to look at Akihiko and Katashi used that as an advantage. He creeped up behind his brother and threw his katana into Daichi's stomach. Daichi grunted and looked down. A blade was sticking from his abdomen. Red was spreading and staining his shirt. "Katashi..." He whispered. Katashi didn't say anything; he just pulled the blade out. Daichi fell to the ground. His face was sky bound, his eyes were open, and little trickles of blood oozed from the corner of his mouth. His eyes darted to Katashi and his chest rose and fell as he took his last breathe. Then, Daichi lay still. Katashi looked down at his brother for a split second and then kicked the body. Akihiko looked forward in amazement, shock, and horror. "Sensei...why?" The older man with red in his hair just looked up and a wicked laugh came from his lips.

.....Back to the present...

Katashi smirked as he watched his nephew jump towards him. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. Katashi seemed to stand there for the longest time, just waiting for Akihiko to get closer. Then right before Akihiko could hit him, he leaped sidewalks, out of the way. Akihiko flew past him and almost ran into a tree. Katashi turned around to face him. There was a look of smugness in his face. "And to think your middle name means 'fierce warrior.' You're pitiful. You aren't worthy of that name."

Akihiko whirled about, so he would have his uncle back in his sight range again. "Shut up, you bastard! Just fight me already! I want to get this over with!"

Katashi shook his head. "So impatient. That isn't you." The amusement in his voice disappeared then and was replaced with spite. "But if you want to fight, I'd be more than happy to! I'll rip you to shreds!"

The two of them ran towards each other then. Holding their katanas in the air, the blades clashed and the sound went through the air.

Rathe knew what Onis where but he always found it hard to distinguish humans from Onis. He readied his bow a little more and placed a couple of arrows within grasping distance. He wondered if he should jump in, but he knew that the fight was between Akihiko and Katashi.

~ Katashi Toru Akechi and Akihiko Takeshi Akechi ~

Katashi was stronger and Akihiko got pushed back. His feet slid over the ground like ice, uprooting some grass and making some dust. He stopped himself from loosing his balance and falling backwards. Holding his katana in front of him, Akihiko looked up at Katashi, who ran forward.

Katashi then jumped and cast his sword up, as if he was going to throw it down on his nephew and vertically chop him in half. Just as he was throwing it down, Akihiko slid over to the right, just avoiding the sharp blade. Katashi landed on the ground on all fours, like a cat. Before he got the chance to get up, Akihiko swung sideways at him, aiming at his neck. Katashi threw his katana up just in time to stop it. He pushed the enemy's sword away from him. Then, he flipped around, still on the ground, and knocked Akihiko off his feet.

Akihiko fell on his back and his sword flew out of his hand, just inches out of his reach. Quickly, Katashi jumped up and stood above him, holding his sword at the loser's neck. Akihiko lay on the ground, breathing heavily and staring up into his uncle's face. He growled. "Well, if you're going to kill me, do it already!"

Katashi looked down at him and laughed. "That was too easy, oi. (nephew) Have I taught you nothing?"

"I wish I had learned nothing from you! You are a traitor, a murderer!"

Katashi shook his head. "I just did what I had to do. And as for killing you, I should. You are nothing but a weakling."

Akihiko's eyes grew wide with anger. "SHUT UP!"

Katashi withdrew the blade from Akihiko's neck and stepped back. "Come on, Akihiko. I know you can do better than that. Fight me, and mean it this time!"

Akihiko got up and grabbed his katana. Then, he looked over at his uncle, who had his eyes closed. Katashi had his sword in his left hand. His right hand was held up in front of him. The mark on his palm was glowing faintly. About every thirty seconds, a small, white, glowing orb-like light would float from out of the trees and fly towards Katashi's hand. When they reached it, they seemed to be sucked into the mark on his palm.

After two of these orb lights were sucked into Katashi's hand, Akihiko whispered. "Don't..."

Katashi didn't move at all. He didn't even open his eyes. Two more orbs were sucked into his hand. Then, he put that hand down to his side and his uncovered eye flew open. Within a matter of about forty seconds, his appearance changed. Katashi's skin switched from its usual flushed color to dark blue/grayish. His hair turned white and literally floated in the air around his face, like Medusa's many snakes. His eye turned white and glowed, too.

Akihiko shook his head. "Here we go again." His voice was full of exasperation.

Katashi had changed into his Oni form. He had gathered some souls, the small orb-like lights, of any dead ones nearby to temporarily make him a little strong. It was hard enough for Akihiko to fight his uncle before he had changed. But now, the chance of winning was even smaller. Akihiko wouldn't be able to win while in his normal form. He would have to change as well.

So Akihiko followed his uncle's example. He held his right arm, the one that had the yellow gauntlet, in front of his stomach. He bent his arm, as if he was flexing a muscle. The orb embedded in the gauntlet blinked once or twice and then stopped. The same process happened. Souls flew to the orb and got sucked in. After five were 'eaten' by Akihiko's gauntlet, he changed, too. His hair turned white and floated around his face. It stuck out in the air more than Katashi's, because it was longer. His skin turned dark gray and his eyes glowing white.

The two Onis stood facing each other for a moment and then Katashi went forward, to attack. Akihiko was quicker, however. He stepped forward. Before Katashi could do anything, he swung his sword sideways once more, but this time it hit. The blade when right through Katashi's clothing and armor, to his side. From all the force, he was swept sideways. Then slowly, as if in slow motion, Katashi fell to the ground. His body changed again, back to his normal form. The long, black hair with red streaks. The red eye. The flushed skin. He looked up at Akihiko, but kept silent, as if too stunned to know what to say. There was a huge tear in his clothing where he had been cut. Blood was oozing out of the ugly wound. It wouldn't stop.

Akihiko stood there, feet from the fallen man. He had changed back to his normal form, too. He was naturally pale, but now his skin seemed full of color compared to his haku's (uncle). Every second Katashi appeared to get paler and paler. His hand drifted to the wound. Then, he lifted it up and gazed at his bloodied fingers. He went even paler. Again, he looked up at Akihiko, as if to ask 'why?'. Slowly, he crawled over to a tree and used it to help himself stand up. He disappeared into the trees without looking back. But before he actually left, he uttered a whisper. "I will get you for this, ada (enemy)." Even though it was a whisper, it could be heard all around the group, for everything was silent. Akihiko didn't move one inch. Moments passed. A faint whistle was heard.

Rathe jumped from the tree putting the arrows back in his quiver. "Nicely handled, though you let your anger get ahold of you a bit. As my gramps used to say 'if anger clouds your mind then your body is weaker than a baby's'. Dang i miss the old man." Rathe had thoughts of his adopted parents who he called gramps and nana even though they were of no blood relation to him. He wished they were still alive, for they would know how to find the gems. "Come on lets find a safe place for you to rest you're pale"

~ Katashi Toru Akechi ~

Katashi walked through the forest. Actually, it really wasn't much of a walk. He was staggering, and whenever a tree was within his reach, he would use it as something simply to lean on for a few seconds. After a few moments, he fell to the ground beside a tree. He adjusted himself, so that his back was against the trunk. Then, a whistle came through his lips. Katashi waited. His face was full of pain. Looking down at his wound, he noticed that it was still bleeding. Why wouldn't it stop? If it didn't soon, surely he would die from blood loss. A caw went through the air and he lifted his head to see Fuzen flying towards him. She landed on his leg and looked over at the wound. Then, she looked up into his face and opened her mouth, as if about to caw again.

He shook his head and spoke weakly. "Don't you even. You knew he was nearby, didn't you? That's why you had that fit. It had nothing to do with that human woman. You knew he was near. I know I didn't listen to you, but I don't care. Shut up!"

The crow continued to look up at him, as if hurt by his words. Katashi just ignored her and leaned his head against the trunk of the tree and closed his eyes. He was so weak. He didn't want to move. But he had to do something to his wound. How, though? He didn't have healing powers. He didn't even have bandages.

~ Akihiko Takeshi Akechi ~

Akihiko's chest was moving up and down, for he was breathing heavily. He had failed his grandfather. He had let the traitor get away. But he couldn't believe that Katashi had been wounded by his hand. Throughout the fight, he kept thinking of the old days, before his uncle turned traitor. Even though he would never admit it, it was hard fighting a man who had been there his entire life.

Akihiko looked over at the Elf. His breathing was becoming slower and softer now. He nodded, listening to Rathe's words. The Elf was right. Akihiko had let anger get hold of him. It is hard, though, when you must face someone you have learned to despise.

Akihiko was going to say something, but then he noticed a new addition to the party. He must have been younger, and he had big black wings. An angel... He was talking to Ayora, but they didn't seem to care for each other very much. There was a hint of amusement and mocking in the young man's voice. While in hers, there was pure hatred. There were five people in all. Ayora and this mysterious young man. Akihiko. Rathe. There was also another woman, who appeared to be human, like Ayora. But who was she? She had been here before them. Had she been talking to Katashi?

He was worried about that woman. Could she be in league with Katashi? No...if she was, then why hadn't she done anything to help him when the two were fighting? And what was going on between Ayora and the young man? Was a fight going to break out with them. He shook his head. No, he couldn't go rest. Not at the moment. Oh, but he was exhausted, physically and mentally. Changing into his Oni form took so much of his strength. And fighting with his uncle didn't help him mentally. He felt awful for fighting his own flesh and blood. But he also felt awful for letting him get away. He didn't want to rest, but it wouldn't do him any good if he didn't.

Akihiko walked over to a tree. Leaning against it, he looked over at Rathe and said "I'll just stay here a few moments. I do not have time to rest...Didn't you say something earlier about a temple?" If he really cared about his own health and safety, the young Oni would actually take a rest after what had just happened. After all, he was pale and exhausted. He needed a rest. But Akihiko wasn't the kind of man to worry about himself. He worried about others, instead. He didn't want to use any time to rest if he could use it to search for Gems instead.

[[I didn't want to kill either one of them off...at least not yet. lol Don't take that last comment too seriously. I'm not sure what I'll do with these two just yet. But I thought it would have been a pity if one of them died so early in the rp.haha]]

"Yes. I was doing research with my nana who knew a lot about the legends of the gems. Well before she died of course, but we found that the gems were most likely to be located in the super old parts of the land. Then after she died i heard legends about a temple from the beginning of the days, was to be found here in this forest. So i immediately set off and heard rumors from villages that live around here. They say that the old temple is deep within the older parts of the forest where trees grow higher than the sky." Rathe recounted the legends he heard and decided to leave out the one about how the temple was full of dangerous monsters and that whoever entered would never leave and die a painful death.
