![]() Let me start by first welcoming you to "Pilgrimage: To the Celestial Flow", this is a Roleplay I had once started before, it got fairly far but died unexpectedly, not exactly something I was too happy about. But I've revived it, renewed my ideas and reinvented the plot somewhat since then. The basic outline is that two representatives from each of the four great nations in the Continent of "Thrasirshall" are to appear, representatives can be those born in their nation or anyone originating from that nation. These chosen eight are then sent along a special road, protected by "Guardians" at various checkpoints while a Guide leads the eight down the path all the way to a source of power called the 'Celestial Flow' since it is a well of Heavenly origin. Each representative would then be gifted by the Flow, given a small portion of power from the seemingly infinite well. Along with a whisper from the God, Levante himself. Upon completing this journey, the chosen may then return home or wherever they wish to go. The Roleplay consists of the Journey, a community of eight people from four corners of the continent, protecting each other, sharing their company and journeying as a group. Whatever tasks lay between them and their goal they solve together, and the Guardians assure their safety, at least where they can, ultimately protecting the Flow from attempts to steal more power than is their share, for one can never receive a second gift. Obviously the power hungry must be staved off from holy grounds. Hopefully this Roleplay will be attractive to players, I may even lift the "8 Players Maximum" Rule. Since there are meant to be Eight representatives, it doesn't make sense to have more unless I make certain exceptions. However, if we must, I would urge that if we don't have 8 players, we have some players using two characters, simply to fill the space. Edited by KuroZaiaku, 8 Sep 2008, 06:05 PM.

![]() War had engulfed the continent of Thrasirshall for over one-hundred years. Nobody cared anymore, no-one cared that it was started by a misunderstanding, no-one was concerned at the destruction it was causing, it was simply battle, no stop, four nations and a loathing for one another's existence. What an empty world it seemed to be ans the warring world unto itself continued to bloody the streets with corpses and damaged the land with their various Magical developments, all in the name of war. The Pyruvious would unleash hellish firestorms on towns by secretly invading and burning symbols into walls, delayed to unleash fiery hell. Volferis used its Enchantments to revive the dead, sending unliving shock troops into enemy territory, or even controlling the minds of enemy soldiers with slave crowns, collars and who knew what else. The Zepherfol desert raiders, imbued with inhuman strength and other talents, they tore through opposing troops and civilians as though they were ragdolls, even the 'Artifact' tools of the Aquesians were put to work, developing magic cannons or other nefarious tools and traps bent on the destruction of their prey. It was only one hundred years ago, that the great star fell. And a whisper sent a chill through the spines of all those who would listen, a warning of impending doom from on high. The god Levante was saddened, and angered, the people he had worked so hard to create, simply destroying one another. Some disbelievers scoffed at Levante's existence, and as this ill-seed spread a second warning, far more dire than the first, rang out. From the point where the star had fallen, a great light shone, directly in the center between the four kingdoms. And then the lights fell upon the places that housed soldiers, instruments of destruction, slave camps. With one swift strike such places were torn apart, erased form existence in earth shattering destruction. Levante's warning was heard. And then came the call; for two special individuals of each nation, to journey to a certain point within a forest, where a 'Guardian' would greet them, a guide to the Celestial Flow, whereupon there would be a Convocation of the four nations. This gathering would prove to change everything. The individuals met and were forced to travel without protection to the place where they would experience the presence of Levante himself. Surely enough, with much hardships, many arguments and encounters with horrors not much unlike the horror they had placed amongst themselves, the individuals worked together in a way never imagined, reaching the place wherein the Celestial flow sat before them in a shrine that had built itself to protect the Flow, several Guardians much like their own guide standing solemnly before it and the guide called them, one by one, to step nearer the swirling vortex of light and color. They each received a gift of power, the renewed trust of Levante himself, blessing for their courage in the dangers they faced, and a wish. A wish of peace. No more chaos, no more war. Tradition, it was named, for eight individuals to regularly pay homage to Levante's flow, that glorious pool of mysticism. The years rolled by and thousands would visit the grounds of the Convocation every month alone. Some would even visit a second time, simply to pay respect, others to view the majesty of the shrine. Those view with darker hearts sought after the power, but always they were struck down by the guardians. Sometimes, even people of the world would be changed, drawn back and awarded the cloak of a guardian. With an unnatural half-life the pathway to the convocation was protected by the new Guardians, each group of eight watched over by ancestors and the first ones, and the guides grew in number, to travel with each group that passed. To this day peace has reigned, the machines of war are but a memory, and a new group of eight prepare to set out on their own journey. Their own Pilgrimage to the Celestial Flow. ![]() Natural A typical power that most people can naturally tap into, with it they can perform many tasks, such as telekinetically moving objects, casting bolts of fire, throwing blades of wind and many more imaginative uses. It is the most basic and, often times, most primitive of all magic forms, but all people can use it. So long as they can learn well or are naturally talented as the more official Mages compared to soldiers with simpler control or warrior-mages who walk the path between soldier and mage. Those unable to control at least Natural magic are never considered for the Pilgrimage to the Flow, after all, one cannot use any other form of magic without some control of Natural magic Scroll Inscribing ancient words and weaving spells via written media, scroll magic is perhaps one of the oldest forms of magic, next to Artifact magic. The user of this magic will write mystic words upon parchment or even on the floor and caste magic based upon what they have written. More skilled scroll-magic users can even trace pathways of light in the air rapidly and cast magic through the symbols they form. This form of magic is born from the fires of the Pyruvious mountains to the west. Artifact An interesting form of magic that concentrates on having a specially crafted artifact. The artifact in question is always capable of whatever its purpose is, so long as sufficient energy is being provided by its wielder. This system allowed the crafters to make various powerful artifacts, ranging from simple amulets that would render the user invisible to enter replacement limbs, however replacement limbs would drain the user of energy so they often never use their replacement limbs unless absolutely necessary. This form of magic was invented by the master artisans of the northern snow-covered wastes known as Aquesia. Runic Perhaps the most horrific form of magic, the flesh of the user is carved out, open wound cleansed constantly by healing magic, but never sealed. Once the shape has been cut, molten precious metals are poured into the open wound, filling in for the missing flesh. Anyone wishing to undergo this procedure must first always have a certain special rune grafted, this ensuring that all runes placed int he flesh move with the flexibility of flesh, otherwise they would be easily torn out and cause the user great harm. Runs concentrate on their singularly specific task such as increasing the physical power of the user or enhancing the limits of their magical power by acceptable margins. Other, lesser known Runes do exist, but are kept secret. This barbaric form of magic was birthed by the children of the southern desert, Zepherfol. Enchantment Magic cast upon objects and, often people, to affect them in some way or manner. Unlike artifact magic, Enchanted items are 'charged' temporarily, depending on the strength of the enchantment. For example a bracer to enhance ones physical strength would need to be recharged at various intervals to ensure it is working perfectly. Enchantments on humans include darker traits such as enslaving the users mind temporarily, but such enchantments are are officially banned under pain of death to the user who would use such treacherous powers. The scholarly lovers of the breeze in Volferis were the ones to bring forth this interesting form of magic. Flow A mysterious force and the center concentration of the Pilgrimage that all must undergo at least one in their lifetime. Every person to approach the flow is only ever gifted once with a share of the enigmatic power. Flow is a deeper, greater form of natural magic that some would call a touch of God's power. The all-empowering magic of the Flow grants users far stronger magic than they previously wielded. Those who have received their gift return home, and form their, they write their own destiny, some having been known to fulfill their dreams.or serve int he courts of the kings, even become a Guardian of the Flow. The creator of the Flow itself is believed to be the old God, Levante, a mysterious image sometimes seen within the flow itself but only as a shadow, a silhouette that is never clear. Nevertheless, all who receive the gift hear the voice of Levante, whispering to them, soothing them in that instant of all pains and invigorating their soul with a greater will to live in his name. ![]() A very simple rundown, whenever I RP I follow these set of rules no matter WHERE I am, they are as follows; RULE 1 - Obtain consent for actions that may affect another players character negatively. (Extremely important. Obey this rule or you WILL have me jumping down your throat.) Obtaining consent can be done quite simply by discussing it here in the OOC section or in private PMs. RULE 2 - Do not powerplay, simply put, don't act like your character is more superior than they are supposed to be. (Unless otherwise stated by me/the reigning GM of the RP) RULE 3 - Do not godmode, you may not control another players character without permission. (Unless given consent to do so by the owners character, if a players is inactive I/the Reigning holds the right to make their character 'follow' the others. The longer you are inactive, the more it prompts the killing off of your character) RULE 4 - Do not twink, you cant avoid damage forever, sooner or later you will get hurt, hit, or killed. (Unless otherwise given consent or stated by myself/the reigning GM, in the case of impending death, however, please discuss it between yourselves before it happens. It's much more pleasant to plan it in advance and notify us of your plan.) In fact the most sportsmanly thing you could do is be given permission to dodge all of an attack and LET YOURSELF be damaged! Surprise me by doing this and I'll give you a WHOLE virtual muffin. RULE 5 - Use logic, I know its a very hard thing to pinpoint in an illogical world of fantasy but at some point or another there is a logic that you can attain. Plain examples could be that a fireball hitting a tree very well 'might' set it on fire unless the bark is quite resistant or the fireball isn't very strong. Lightning could still conduct through rain but you may end up shocking everyone else. This will also cover your logic when encountering an opponent, give us a reasonable explanation on how you might, say, ward off a dozen thrown knives? Just saying "Bob deflects the knives!" doesn't work. What did you deflect them with? How did you do it so fast? was it all at once? Did they get warded off by a shield, magical/normal? (Believe me, I've seen people be smartasses about this, I don't like people who do that, either take it seriously or get the boot. Theres a line between enjoyably fun roleplaying and just plain spiteful stupidity.) On the subject of being logical, I enjoy creativity, I welcome it openly, but please, let the creativity make sense based on the information provided by the creator of the RP. If you're not sure, please be prudent and ask first? It would be greatly appreciated. Miscellaneous Rules - Please also follow the official RPA rules, if anything from above is stated there also, I would appreciate you take my rules in consideration over those. No offense or disrespect is intended to the official rules. ( I just like mine better )Posting length should be at the VERY least one paragraph, thats 4 lines or larger. But I would much prefer around 2 paragraphs.. And strange as it may seem, a MAXIMUM of 6 paragraphs. I don't like a wall of text, ( Shush!! My rules aren't a post!! )No racial, color or religious based insults. If you are desperate for some form of insult to use in the actual roleplay, then please ask me and I will provide a list of my own creation, and their meaning. (I will tolerate simpler offensive terms like ass, shit, damn, crap or other various lighter terms, but try to censor harder words, for example: B*tch, B**tard, F**k.) Yes, I know it doesn't change the meaning, but, aesthetically, it shows respect to the reading audience. It also shows respect to me for obeying those rules. Using the same censoring on lighter words is also recommended, but not required. I'm not too strict about it though, swearing is part of my RL vocabulary. Actually concerning insults/swearing related to the RP, perhaps you would like to offer up some of your own ideas? It'll certainly be a good laugh to hear what other people come up with. ![]() Silly questions will be dealt with by way of my "+5 Hammah of Anti-Stupid" I reserve the right to add, remove, or otherwise edit the rules as I see fit. Though I doubt there'll ever really be a need, never needed to thus far and most people on RPA are more than competent enough compared to other people I've dealt with. Not a worry. ![]() Below is a short description of each of the chosen eight. Read, understand and respect. Each name can be clicked to see their full profile Lazel Cross Born in the northern wastes, Lazel had the honor of being labelled as a member of the Ebony clan. Although early on in his life he was taken with his father to travel around the various countries, learning about them and their cultures, though the thing that interested him most was magic. Upon returning home, Lazel was imprinted with several runes of his choosing and gifted with a special ancient tool of the Ebony clan. As one of their greatest young men and, as known by both clans, an official member of the Ebony clan, he was chosen to forcibly be married to the daughter of the Ivory clans leader. Once the marriage was through, he and his new wife were sent on the pilgrimage, in an attempt to have them bond. Aliela Cross Being born as the last child of a very well known Aquasian family in the Ivory clan has taken quite a toll on Leela's outlook. Three older brothers, one of whom was very prodigious concerning magic, the other two being very well known and well behaved boys. They spent their free time training, studying, and actively helping out fellow Aquasians, and recently, even some in the Ebony clan. Her eldest sister, Guenevre, was respected due to her leadership skills, beauty, and strength. Though not the best magician, she was quite renown but was killed by a raid involving the Pyruvians (sp?) at the age of seventeen - the age Aliela is now. Gwen was the eldest of the Sovereign children, then came the twins, then her prodigious brother, then Aliela. Leela's father realized sadly that his youngest daughter was nothing special. She did not have a dark heart and did not like the war, but you had to be quite strange to call her a peace maker. He was a very well known figure amongst various tribes and decided that sending Aliela on the journey to the Celestial Flow may have helped her in some way. He also heard of a rather talented young man from another clan, and despite Aliela's fits and protests, arranged a marriage for her. She was quite disappointed, although her true feelings for her new husband rarely show through and she's still unsure of what she really thinks about this arrangement. The real reason, unbeknown to Aliela, that she was sent away was because her father was scared of being witness to his only other daughter's death, and somehow thought that sending her away would help the alliance and strengthen the bond between the Ivory and Ebony clans, also protecting his youngest. Audra Gailynn Audra belongs to a small, but well-known military family in the heart of Aquesia. Her father has been a guard to the head of her tribe for years and now is off serving under command of her tribe’s new leader at the borderlands of the country. Being the eldest child of her family she was trained to take over her father’s position in the event he was killed. However she has a brother a few years younger than her that had pretty well taken over the position of replacement, leaving Audra to her own devices. This had quickly led to disastrous results involving street fights and an attack on an upper class merchant’s son. Her mother is a deep devotee in the way of Celestial Light and Audra gained much of her spirituality from her. It was her mother that suggested that Audra go to on this pilgrimage to hopefully find her station in life. Audra bored and internally struggling agrees and soon is off. Nikira Ha'Larem Having been birthed by a lower class couple who had no money to buy food, let alone afford a child, Nikira has had to deal with the world her way. And that way is the correct way, or so she believes. She was always a withdrawn child and never had the opportunity to interact with other children, which carried on through her teenage years. For some reason she was never fully accepted, and was always shunned by others. Perhaps it was her understated elegance or her fighting skills, she would never know. When she thought she had transitioned into a woman she felt the need to find something that would centre her, and would make her feel complete rather than a mistake. She set off on her own pilgrimage in order to find that missing piece of herself, and to perhaps figure out what this whole "friendship" business is. Fen Eider If humans were to be accumulated in a dictionary, Fen's picture would sho up quite prominently behind the word 'ordinary'. There is nothing remarkable about her, at least not when she's among her kindred. Her birth was unremarkable, her childhood and her adulthood even so. She never gave her parents any trouble, would quietly do what she was told and babysit the smaller children when their parents were away. Fen has the grace of a child still, feeling completely at ease in her own body, mind and soul. Even her body is still childlike, with lanky limbs and modest curves like a girl just hitting puberty. Only when she was alone, she would let a bit of her not-quite-so-unobtrusive personality out - more often than not, though, that would scare her just a little. Suppose she couldn't control herself anymore, and disappointed everyone by going from a quiet, satisfied young woman to something less quiet? That was when she decided to go on a pilgrimage, to hopefully find the gift of self-control. Kaidel Hassasum Kaidel was born the child of wanderers in the scorching dunes of the south. He was always a large child, and as he grew old enough to fight and help protect his family, his parents discovered very quickly that their child was like a walking wall: he had an incredibly high tolerance to pain, and even as a child his physical strength was remarkable. When he reached adulthood he settled down in a village constantly plagued by attacks from raiders and monsters. He acted as a protector for them, until years later he was summoned for the pilgrimage. Jericho Zolaunt Jericho was actually the result of a Volferisian mixing with a Zepherfolan. His father was from the Zepherfolan Nation, and his mother was born a Volferisian. The odd mixture made him get strange looks in the town, but soon the people began to accept him. His mother and father loved him dearly and they tried to give him as normal life as possible with schooling. His grandparents did not like his father, and they had him killed when Jericho was seven. His mother became sick wtih grief and rage, and died when he was eight. He was then raised by his grandparents, who died of old age when he was thirteen. He was taken in by his harsh and strict aunt who made him work. She did not like that Jericho had an interest in books and believed reading was a waiste of time. He worked for a man who schooled him in magic while they worked, and the man was the one who gifted him the staff of which was called 'Penalty'. When Jericho was eighteen, he moved out and nothing fascinating has happened ever since. Talitha “Tal” Eld Tal’s life has revolved around her mother building her to be powerful Enchantress and model house wife, much as her mother had done to her, but finding her seemingly absent minded daughter lacking in the latter half. Tal on the other hand spent her youth escaping her mother and crying to her father who provided her with what ever made her happy. In the recent years and threat of marriage Tal took a desperate leap and talked her father around to being allowed to go on the Pilgrimage. With a screaming match later she had her mothers grudging permission to go as well and before either could change their mind she left. Edited by KuroZaiaku, 8 Sep 2008, 06:04 PM.

Username: Kurozaiaku Name: Lazel Cross Age: 19 Nation: Zepherfolan Appearance: http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/7/9/119390/1137622089-138.jpg Personality: Lazel is quite a calm person in all honesty, things are taken with little worry or fear of what they may be and he displays a constant need for peace simply in his actions. However if the time must come to fight the calmer young man is replaced by a far more fierce warrior, perhaps even a little merciless at times but only when it comes down to specific situations. Lazel likes to read almost anything, but mostly magic-related books and articles, and the legends of Levant. The boy within him admires the god Levante with a passion and respects him for stopping the wars finally. Lazel likes most fruits and vegetables over meats, and tends not to drink alcohol due to a certain episode when he was younger. Most of the time you can find Lazel at rest, meditating, or reading. Lazels feelings for his new wife are somewhat unsure, being married to some-one from the opposite clan wasn’t something he’d ever intended to do, but if it would stop the fighting he supposed it was the only way to get it solved. Whatever happens he knows it’s his duty to protect her now, and take care of her whatever happens, honour and chivalry before pride. Magic: Lazel is an extraordinarily gifted young man, well trained in the ways of magic by private tutoring as well as visiting the other lands to learn more of their magic, he’s not obsessive for magic but more enjoys the many various forms while trying to settle upon his favorite. He has no singular magic style to tide him over; rather he combines the use of three in what he likes to call the “Three Paths,” style. The rune inscribed into his back is used to control a special Artifact orb that he carries with him, levitating it and moving it freely as he pleases with not to much drain on his magic. The orb itself can be split into four ethereal components known as Pierce, Slash, Reflect and Crush when they are assembled in a specific pattern for each they become weapons and tools that can be controlled near or far. The energy they use to form these weapons and/or tools drain Lazel’s natural magic, giving the orbs the energy to activate their special abilities at his will. With the power of the flow, Lazel hopes to increase the potential of the ‘Three Paths’. Misc: Runes- Other than the one to soften other runes into his flesh, the young man has been gifted with various runes, among them being a strength rune, to allow feats of greater power, a speed rune to give allow swifter movement of the body, perception, to slow the world in his mind and allow him to think clearly, finally a high endurance rune to solidify his body and protect it against the forces of his increased physical abilities so as not to tear his muscles, break his bones or rip open his own flesh when moving and attacking. The other, more important rune to him is a specialized rune of the rare metal ‘Zeran’. The extremely high quality of this metal provides Lazel with a great deal of energy he can redirect to the other runes. Artifact- Combat/Tool sphere, specially crafted ancient tool that covers a very wide range of tasks. Typically used for combat but it can form tools such as ropes, grappling hooks, hammers and other items. Brief Bio: Born in the northern wastes, Lazel had the honor of being labelled as a member of the Ebony clan. Although early on in his life he was taken with his father to travel around the various countries, learning about them and their cultures, though the thing that interested him most was magic. Upon returning home, Lazel was imprinted with several runes of his choosing and gifted with a special ancient tool of the Ebony clan. Username: Bippy Name: Audra Gailynn Age: 20 Nation: Aquesian Appearance: Audra is pale skinned as is normal of her heritage. Her hair is quite long and deep black, causing her skin to appear almost white. She normally keeps her hair in a tight braid she pins up to keep cool. Her eyes round and piercing blue shine out of her face, though her left eye is cloudy, obviously blinded. It is unknown if this deformity occurred naturally, as an accident, or the result of extended magic usage, Audra keeps mum on the subject. Being from the north she is rather well built, broad shoulders are the frame of an otherwise well built body. Her hands are scarred and calloused from years of military training, and on her forearms are black tattooed symbols of her tribe and social standing; though in most situations she keeps those covered up. Personality: outwardly Audra is a cold, machine who keeps words to a minimum and if slighted, (which happens often) is not unwilling to use is force to solve the problem. Internally though, Audra is a somewhat insecure, very spiritual person who is on a search to find balance between her spirituality and violent urges. She truly cares for others, and for friends will do almost anything. She also has a great sense of humor and will laugh at even the stupidest jokes. Magic: Audra was gifted at an early age with the natural ability to manipulate wind, though her control is limited she is learning and can cast personal shields as well as make light wind change its course, when she is very upset or angry she can create minor twisters. Audra, like other members of the race also uses Artifact magic, she has on her person a small amulet around her neck which is able to predict oncoming storms (very useful in the north) Misc: She is also a gifted Enchantress, having trained for years to place her energies into objects. On her possession currently are a bag of river stones she can use for minor healing and Scrying. She also has a spear enchanted to be near unbreakable. Brief Bio: Audra belongs to a small, but well-known military family in the heart of Aquesia. Theme: Godsmack “Serenity" |

Username: darknessreigns Name: Aliela Sovereign Cross Age: 17 Nation: Aquasian Appearance: Aliela Personality: A cold temper to match her eyes, Aliela has always been a tough, complicated girl. Though born into a good family, she was the lone wolf of her pack, doing things differently than society liked and being separated from her family. She was raised in four very large shadows of her older siblings and had always been expected to do better. Every Sovereign child had a talent, each greater than the one before them. Aliela, however, was the one who broke that chain. She is unstable emotionally, and isn't good with expressing feelings like sympathy or gratitude. She's done things her own way and doesn't let anyone tell her what to do. Sneaking out to hunt, playing with the beasts, and trying to conjure up storms were amongst the few things she liked to do in her spare time. Magic: Leela, as she prefers to be called, found magic interesting to a point, but never bothered to really practice it. There was never a need to learn. It was quite obvious she would never outmatch her prodigious older brother or her feirce late sister. She likes to practice in private, although she is usually never left alone, thanks to the social standing of her parents and siblings. Aliela is a lot of things, but she is not stupid and will not hesitate to prove it. She's fiercely competetive, and prefers physical things such as running and hunting as opposed to using magic if she could help it, but there's no doubt magic is useful. Misc: When she was only a child, her eldest sister was killed in a raid involving the Pyruvians before her eighteenth birthday. Her parents had gotten her a beautiful white cub, which was expected to grow into a large Dire Wolf. (click for picture) Instead, it was given to Aliela and she's been close to him ever since, naming him Amby, for immortal. Amby is the only being that Aliela can honestly say she loves. Ignore the wings, of course. Her most prized possession is a small jade amulet made by her sister. She often wears it differently ranging on her mood, from a hair accessory to a necklace. This was the only thing she has, besides a legacy, to remember her older sister by. To anyone, it would simply appear as a green jewel, but Aliela would often claim that "it helps me do magic" without specifying. Aliela, being the youngest child, was naturally spoiled by her parents. Or rather, her parents tried to spoil her and make her a good girl. Instead, the only thing that they've managed to do was give her a rather eccentric taste in clothes and sharp tongue when she fails to get what she wants. Her siblings have a gap of 10 years between them. If Gwenevre were still alive, here's how their ages would go: Gwenevre: 27, Twins: 23, Prodigy: 19, Aliela: 17 Brief Bio: Being born as the last child of a very well known Aquasian family in the Ivory clan has taken quite a toll on Leela's outlook.
