Aime caught herself before a frown and narrowed eyes came upon her features."You should never hide anything from a knight. Or so he says. Oh, yeah, well I was just walking when I fell through a mirror and instead of getting busted up by glass, I found myself in a horrible old kitchen.

"Well, we were talking about how we got lost in the castle," she said honestly. "I couldn't seem to find how I got here or the room I was in before, and we weren't sure if you could help us or not..." she said, her voice lowering at the end as "Bella" looked down and peered at him through thick lashes. The look of innocence.

Royce paused for a moment, considering her words. Something was still suspicious, but he couldn't put his finger on what it could be.

" I find it hard to believe you could get lost. There should have been plenty of people who could have given you directions." he stated. This was actually quite true, as normally there were many people running around who knew the place well enough that could have pointed them in the right direction.

"Um, we must have just missed them all. I mean, we don't even know each other so why would we both be in the kitchen if we hadn't gotten lost?"

Laurie smiled awkwardly.

"Is it alright with you if we leave now? I, um, have a very important meeting to get to which I... can't afford to miss..."

The lie was terrible, but she had just said the first thing that sounded plausable that came to mind. Although the knight might still decide they were up to no good, it was better than saying nothing.

" To be honest, I don't trust either of you at all. But, I will let you go this once. If I catch you causing trouble again, I will be forced to throw you in the dungeon." Royce took his hand away from his sword to show that he wouldn't do anything.

"You may go now."

Carina got up from the floor.
"Okay, then," She said to Royce.
"I guess we'll meet again someday. Tell me if you need any help."
The last sentence was directed towards Laurie and Bella, they were obviously lost, and something about them seemed strange.

Carina went out of the narrow hallway and into a bigger one. She knew exactly where to go as she'd been here many times before. Her father was probably starting to get worried.

Bella, as she'd come to be known, glared at the knight with a sudden flare of intense dislike, she didn't realize her spine and neck had straightened, or that she'd been peering at him down her nose until she lowered her head to look at Carina. Despite the situation, she managed a sincere smile.

"Sorry for the rudeness earlier," she apologized, furrowing her brow," I suppose we'll be off now." Her words were directed at Carina, and the last part at Laurie. She was trying to act as if that stupid knight didn't exist. Throw her in a dungeon? She was almost a universal icon. Alright, not really, but her band was a huge hit in Europe and the States. Throw her in the dungeon. They can try, but there's no way she'd go down without a fight, even if that did mean pain.

Aime turned on her heel and locked elbows with Laurie, trying to drag her along a different hallway than the one Carina had gone through. When she was positive the knight was out of earshot, she wrapped her arm around the other girl's shoulders to get closer to her, so as to not be heard.

"You're right, there's something really strange going on here. I don't think we'll be able to go back where we came from, but if we don't snoop around then there's no way we'll find out anything." Aime blinked and almost stopped, but kept walking. We? We? WE? When'd she start using that? It used to be me me me. She sighed and set her eyes on a set of large, oak stained doors. Freedom!

"Wha? We can't sneak around... like we are. We stand out. Haven't you noticed?"

Laurie gestured back to where the knight had been in explanation.

"They kept commenting on our clothing. If this really is Medieval times then we need to try and blend in as well as possible to avoid being noticed by knights such as him."

She sighed and moved down the corridor further.

"We're going to have to try to steal clothes. I don't have Medieval money and I doubt they have currency offices, so we'll just have to try not to get caught."

Royce sighed, now alone. " What a waste of time. Hopefully the meal is already served, otherwise the knights will go mad."

Armor clinking, he left the hallway and made his way back to the dining hall, where dinner was indeed being served. he took his original seat after having recieved his portion and began to eat, ignoring other knights who asked what the problem was. He wouldn't tell... at least not yet.

'Haven't you noticed?' Aime's eyebrow twitched. Of course she had, idiot. She didn't see Laurie, but she did see movement out of the corner of her eye.

"Talk about the obvious," she muttered, still loud enough for her to hear. She was in a foul mood, and didn't need an airheaded girl weighing her down. "No offense, but I didn't really mean any of this 'we' stuff, you know. I wanted to get away from that knight. I have a plan, but I wasn't really thinking of dragging another person along with me when it popped into my mind," Aime informed her. There was no spite in her voice, just business. She was looking straight ahead, making a direct path towards the doors. "Bella" pursed her lips and tried to keep walking past the doorways.

Unbeknown to her, one of them was the dining area where the knights were feasting. It was just a large square that she'd traveled in, from the kitchen, to the other room, now on her way to the exit. Please don't have anyone else notice me... she prayed silently, quietly opening the large doors and slipping through, her mind almost completely forgetting the girl behind her.

She thought for a moment "...I think it might be best if I used it to get some clothes, It might be better if I didn't stick out like a sore thumb" Emma said looking at the necklace

Bran chuckled, "Not on the way there, you won't, but by the way back, you should be able to blend in with the crowd." He gets up and heads to the door, "So, like you said, let us away to the market. Just stick by me and you'll have less of a chance of trinkets disappearing from your pockets."

Aime left the castle and squinted in the sun. Alright, so where in this dirty town should she go? Just standing outside, people gave her strange glances and children quietly hurried past her. Grubby little urchins, she scowled. Aime wandered quickly, giving the evil eye to any one who got close to her. Her earings and chain bracelet caught a lot of eyes, as well as her clothing did. Well this sucks.

She wasn't sure how long it'd be till she found a good place, but suddenly she stumbled upon a dress shop. Huzzah! She rushed into the dingy candlelit tavern and examined a few dresses along the wall.

"Madam, may I be of any assistance to you?" Aime turned to see a girl who looked younger than she, with wide blue eyes and a frown on her face. She obviously was weary of Aime's strange garb.

"Yes, dear, I'm looking for something... different." At that word, the young blond frowned. "Or, something expensive and magestic. I'd like your best dress, please." The girl gave a small 'yes miss' and scuttled away, leaving Aime to ponder. Crap. All she had on her was various bits of silver, along with a wad of cash in her bra she'd stuck before entering the Tower...

"Would this suit you, Miss?" A voice asked. She turned, and her eyes lit up. It was a beautiful sapphire colored dress. It had a low top, that would probably expose part of her cleavage, but she was half naked on stage anyway... Tight half sleeves that puffed out at the ends, as well as light blue and white frills running along the edges. Intricate flower patterns laced the skirt in a V shape down her front, and the white corset looked very attractive.

"Yes..." she said breathlessly. "Uhm, would I be able to trade in silver for this?" Aime removed her bracelet, a cheap necklace some fanboy gave her, and her earings and put them into the girl's hand as she took the dress. She stuttered something unintelligible. "Don't worry, you can keep those for yourself if you'd like," she smiled, going into a small room to dress. The dress was even prettier on her, if she could say so herself. She traded her garb for the uncomfortable material, and transferred her money. Good god, it was hard to breath in this corset. Sighing sadly, she put her clothes in a bin with other dull earthy shades and left. The girl was no where to be found.

Aime exited the dress shop, and no one seemed to notice anything different. A few people stared at her, but it wasn't in the scared, confused way they did before. A few men gave her lustful glances, but she ignored them and walked around, wondering what the hell to do now.

Carina sat on the top of a hill, looking down at the town. Busy people were hurrying along and across the streets, horse wagons were bringing the whealthy to wherever they were going. Soon she would be like them. Rich, arrogant, busy... Married.
To Carina, it seemed like time stood still, and she regreted she hade gone home for dinner at all today. Meeting the two girls with the strange clothings and the knight had given her day an uplifting event, she had allmost forgotten her anger towards her mother. Now it was renewed.

He had been there. Sir Alexander. And her father had announced the "wonderful" news. Their youngest daughter were getting married! Without her own permission!
Too bad they were marrying her to the most selfish and slimy little eel in London.

She looked down at her evening gown. It was flamboyant. Fashionable and new. It had several shades of blue, with white laces and underskirts. Alots of underskirts, and a corset. Corsets were hard to breathe in, but eventually you got used to it.
And they forced her to wear shoes! She didn't like wearing shoes, they made her feel trapped. Luckily, they were gone now. She couldn't remember where she'd left them, though.

When people looked at her, they would think "There's another spoiled ritch girl." But what they would say was:
"Good day, miss. How are you?" It was all so false, and so wrong.
And when she would get married to Alexander, they would think:
"There's that rich girl who's married to that fop."
Still they would say:
"Good day, my lady. How are you?"
Carina sighed.

She had wanted to take her horse and ride away, but her mother had taken it to some stable somewhere on another end of London. Taking anyone elses horse would've been stealing, so her only choice was walking.

She decided to go down to the busy streets of London, and that was what she was doing when she saw the girl from earlier come out from one of the finest dress shops in the whealthy parts of London.
"Hello there, Bella," she shouted, a few metres away from the girl, who was wearing a wonderful dress. She must be ritch or something, Carina thought.

Aime frowned, getting the feeling someone was yelling for her. She couldn't really put her finger on it until... "Bella!" Aime turned around, her eyes calm and emotionless, secretly hoping she hadn't been discovered or turned in as a witch or something. Dear god. Her heart was racing, but she saw a familiar looking girl walking towards her. Wait, the hell, did she even know her? It took a moment for it to click.

"Oh, Carina, hi," she smiled. She scanned her over. Her hair had been rearranged, and there was a blush to her cheeks that may or may not have been make up. "You look wonderful," Aime commented honestly. She recognized the dress. She had looked at it earlier in the shop! It was right beside the one she was wearing now, and they looked like distant cousins or the like. Aime noticed they had the same build and hair type, along with very similar skin tones. Yet their hair and eye colors were very different. "Is today something special?"

Aime smiled at her, but she frowned when something rammed into her side. "Ouch, what was that?" She looked downward and saw a little boy dressed in ragged trousers. He held a wilted sunflower. "M'lady, you look very pretty. Are you two going to a wedding?" Aime blinked, confused, as he held the flower up to her face.

"Oh, thank you," she said flustered. "No, I don't think I'll be going to one soon," she laughed. Her hazel eyes caught site of a women staring uncertainly at him. "Go on, child, I think your mother wants you." The boy gave her a dimpled grin and walked off. Aime laughed a bit, twirling the sunflower as she faced Carina.

"A wedding, honestly? So, what were you getting ready for?"

Carina watched the little boy go back to his mother. A wedding. So everyone but her had known?
"Oh, you mean the dress? I was just going to ask about yours. It's beautiful."
She smiled. The dress looked wonderful on Bella.
"Well, I was told to buy something nice for dinner today. It's my wedding." The way she said the word "wedding" did not sound happy at all. It allmost sounded like it was her funeral.
"My father wants me to marry the most selfish fop in London. Or, he commands me to, actually..."
The look on her face wasn't happy either. Carina looked like she'd just swallowed something very un-tasty..
"I don't want to go to my own wedding. I really have no clue on what to do..."
Carina found herself talking and talking and asking for advice, but she couldn't help it. Her head was chaos.

Royce finished eating, and stood to leave. It was quiet now, as he was one of the last to finish, and most of the other knights had left already, or were in a drunken sleep at the table.

" Ah. Royce." Royce turned, to see that teh Lord was there as well. " Still here, I see. Good. I have a favour to ask of you."

Royce raised one eyebrow, before responding with " yes my lord, what troubles you?"

"Ah, it's not that much, but... I want you to take another patrol. Most of the other guards are too drunk to do a patrol. I swear, you are the only one that never gets drunk."

Royce smiled somewhat. How silly. The guards were drunk again. " You know it's because I never drink, my lord. But of course. I will take a second patrol."

" Thank you. It is greatly appreciated. You may go now." with that, the Lord turned and walked away without another word.

Royce sighed once he was out of earshot This has not been a very good day for me. Oh well.

He left the castle, and once again began patroling, taking extra care in the wealthy part of town, where the most crimes took place. Along the way, he noticed... You must be joking.

It was Bella and Carina again, dressed far more elaborately than when last they had met. just my luck. Well.. as long as they don't raise a ruckus, I'll just ignore them, and hope they ignore me he silently hoped.

This was quite unlikely, because the sound of his silver armor jangling was quite loud, and he was the only knight in the area. He stuck out like a sore thumb.

Emma couldn't help but smirk at his comment. "I don't think, its my pockets that you should be worried about. " She thought as they walked towards the market. Now might not be the best time to practice my trade however. Emma thought, her eyes wandering to the pockets of passers by.

She blushed slightly feeling people looking at her clothes. "Are my clothes that strange?" Emma said asking Bran, looking at the stalls and shops.

Bran nodded, "Fairly strange indeed. Don't worry about it too much, though. If anyone asks, just say you're a traveling performer of some sort. They've been known to wear some outlandish outfits." He kept his eyes on the crowd, not really carrying about the stalls and more worried about pickpockets and muggers that tend to haunt places like this and the alleys around them.

Aime frowned and gave Carina an apathetic look. There was always the chance that she could run away, but they were both dressed in beautiful, and probably very costly, gowns and they stuck out.

"I, I don't know what I can do," she said quietly, suddenly snapping her fingers. "You don't need to marry him," Aime said suddenly, in a hushed tone so others wouldn't hear. She was mentally killing herself. "It's obvious you don't like him, but I..." She squeezed her eyes shut and sighed. "I've... er, had a lot of relationships on a whim with boys that I barely know." Dear god, why was she even bothering? "I can... go to your wedding as you and we can figure out something later." It'd give her some place to stay for the night. If things were like she thought, and they expected the bride to lose her virginity after her wedding (not that losing it again was possible, but she'd really rather not go through with it.) then things might get messy.

"Bella" grabbed Carina's wrist and held up her own. "Look, we've got the same skin tone and and figure and features and everything," she said, speaking aloud what she realized earlier. "I have contacts in my bag and if we can somehow change our hair colors..." She trailed off, realizing she'd left her bag at the shop, and cursed out loud. Before she could speak about anything else, the clanking of armor interrupted her and she saw the night from earlier.

Aime pursed her lips and began making her way towards him.

"Royce," she nodded formally. She had no other choice. "I... I think we got off on the wrong foot, but I'm desperately in need of your help," she pleaded, hoping he wouldn't comment on her high class, high quality attire. He couldn't possibly understand the seriousness of the situation, but girl to girl, Aime really felt for Carina. If her parents tried to get her to simply go on a date with a boy she disliked she'd throw a fit and run to a friend's house for a few days. "It's not just for my sake, it's my... friend." She looked him in the eyes pathetically. "Please."

Royce cursed to himself in his head as Bella had noticed him. He could now tell that she was wearing quite high-class attire. Some of the most expensive garb on the market.

" I never realized you were a noble. Pardon my rudeness from earilier then, m'lady." he said, giving a half bow, which was as much as his bulky armor would allow. Knights were always supposed to show respect to the high class, it was one of the tenets of chivalry, which had been drilled into Royce's head since he was three.

"a favour, you ask? Hm. Well I am on a patrol but... i suppose I could take time away. What is it you need?" Royce knew he should not have said he would help, as he shouldn't be shirking from his duties. however, this wasn't supposed to be his patrol, and there were guards actually out... the likelihood that a seige or something awful would occur was very, very small.

She looked back at Carina and motioned for her to join. Quickly, she grabbed Royce's gloved hand and dragged him into an alleyway, checking to make sure that Carina had followed. There was nothing in the alleyway but the rats scuttling about. She shivered. Filthy little creatures. She twirled the sunflower in her hand and looked down at it as she began to speak.

"Well, you two have been in this town longer than I have..." she blinked, realizing she may have said too much, but continued to speak. "So you ought to know what's going on better than I do. Carina's being forced to marry this deu- er, this snob -" she corrected, "and, well, look at us," she said, running out of words. She stood beside Carina and wrapped an arm around her. Minus the eyes and hair, they could have been twins. Aime wondered a bit if Carina was a relative of hers...

"I can change our eye colors to be different, and maybe find some dye or something, but would you be able to make sure she's not seen during her wedding? I'm planning to pose as her for the time being so she doesn't have to marry him, and then later escape somehow," she finished lamely. It sounded much better in her mind. "I know I don't owe you anything, nor do I have anything that could be of use to you, but I'm asking you because you're the only other person I know in this place," she said, finally getting the guts to look into his eyes.

Royce paused for a moment, considering it. he barely knew these people, and they were asking him to help ruin a wedding. well, not necessarily ruin the wedding but it would certain ruin the groom's day. and obviously the groom would be a nobleman...

It's none of my business... If the two are engaged, why is it my place to ruin it? Arranged marriages have always been the way... Still.. It seems like an awfully silly thing, though. how can they have a good marriage if both aren't happy? Oh.. what shoudl I do..? he though to himself, looking down at the ground.

He had been silent for almost a minute before deciding " Alright.. I'll do it." he said firmly.

hopefully I don't get caught... This act could cost me my knighthood..
